A deeper look at Merci Miles: (Warner Records, 2021)
Tumblr media
Miles Davis: trumpet; Kenny Garrett: saxophone; Deron Johnson: keyboard; Richard Patterson: bass; Ricky Wellman: drums
By July, 1991 Miles Davis was music royalty.  The previous decade saw him reach a level of popularity and stardom seldom seen in jazz.  By the early 80’s the trumpeter had changed music multiple times, 4 to be exact, with his foray into hip hop, the first recording to be issued after his death Doo Bop (Warner Bros, 1992) , marking the fifth groundbreaking turn in his career.  Prior to his passing from stroke complications in 1991, he maintained a vigorous touring schedule, and the performances of his sextet of the period, the finest late career band he ever led (and arguably one of the best bands of his entire career) were supercharged.  The music captured on the newly released Merci Miles: Live at Vienne (Rhino, 2021) marks the first time anywhere save two YouTube videos the concert has been available in full, and is significant and historically important for two reasons:  it is one of Miles’ final performances in France available legally, and it features two compositions by Prince, the cheeky entendre laden titles “Penetration” and “Jailbait” that the late icon wrote specifically for Davis.
The picture of the late singer/composer/multi instrumentalist’s involvement with Davis is much clearer through the release of Prince’s own Sign O’ The Times multi disc mega box set and the official release of “Can I Play With U?” a track originally written by The Purple One during the legendary Rubberband (Rhino, 2018) sessions.   Prince’s track was going to be included on what eventually turned out to be Davis’ first album with his new label, Warner Bros. Tutu (1986) but was eventually shelved.  The track was then slated to be issued in the original, much more substantial The Last Word: The Complete Warner Brothers Recordings box set from the early 2000’s (of which promo copies existed) but was fazed out due to rights issues.
The trumpeter always regarded France warmly, from the time he first set foot on French soil as a 22 year old in 1949.  The country was also where in the late 1950’s he recorded the innovative soundtrack to Elevator To The Gallows or Ascenseur pour l’echafaud director Louis Malle’s smoky noir film of which the trumpeter’s soundtrack, completely improvised featuring a top French rhythm section crystallized some of the ideas the trumpeter later would apply on Kind of Blue (Columbia, 1959).  France was also the setting for the infamous romance with the late French starlet Juliette Greco.  More importantly, France, being the first country to wholeheartedly embrace jazz and recognize creative improvised Black music to be on par with European art music, was ready for whatever Davis brought to the table, instead of the misdirected pining that many fans and critics demonstrated in the U.S. for his past, acoustic centered work.
Merci Miles was captured on July 1, 1991 at the Jazz a Vienne festival, at a picturesque Roman amphitheater filled to capacity.  7 days later on July 8, Miles would revisit the material from Porgy and Bess, Miles Ahead and Sketches of Spain at the Montreux Jazz Festival  with a double orchestra conducted by Quincy Jones and featuring the late trumpeter Wallace Roney as a second voice alongside occasional spots for alto saxophonist Kenny Garrett.    The appearance featuring this music was followed by an appearance with former band mates in Paris on July 10 (a concert that unfortunately of this writing is  being thieved by bootleggers for album release), and the European swing wrapped up in Nice, France on July 16th.
Miles’ band that July 1st evening, featuring Deron Johnson (who grew up with Miles’ nephew and former drummer Vince Wilburn, Jr) on keyboards; Kenny Garrett on alto saxophone and flute) lead bassist and Parliament alumnus Foley, bassist Richard Patterson, and the late Ricky Wellman on drums were inspired and smoking.
“Hannibal” written by Marcus Miller, which appeared on the group’s latest studio album Amandla (1989) is the high energy set opener, with the rhythm section of Johnson, Patterson and Wellman in perfect sync.  Miles flies free with some solo lines before the head appears, and Kenny Garrett makes his first appearance with a lengthy solo.  Garrett (who has a new Mack Avenue studio album in August) is like a heat seeking missile, the rhythm section responding and creating inner dialogues with him in response to his impassioned, pulpit stirring cries.  Deron Johnson, often alongside with Garrett in taking some of the best solos of the evening, briefly dialogues with Miles before spinning off into his own, substantial solo turn.  Johnson is a complete history of the keyboardist’s who played with the trumpeter and distills everything in his sparkling, distinctive soloing voice, swinging slightly behind the beat against the mightily funky bass and drums underneath.
“Human Nature”, the classic ballad   from Michael Jackson’s Thriller (Epic, 1982) Davis first debuted on You’re Under Arrest (Columbia, 1985).  The sensuous existential track became a blank canvas for the Davis band to paint on nightly.  The trumpeter renders the melody with longing, then gradually shifts into a resourceful solo with a double time sprint.  Within Davis’ solo and the use of Spanish tinged scales, and the colorful keyboard backing, the intense drama of the beautiful arrangements that Gil Evans crafted for Sketches of Spain (Columbia, 1959) which Marcus Miller expanded upon in a sense for the film soundtrack Siesta (Warner Bros, 1989) are clearly felt.  Davis quotes “Nature Boy” and a few other asides before passing the baton to Garrett, who used the tune as a nightly feature for intense late period Coltrane trance like meditation.  Garrett fits in a quote of the old spiritual “Joshua Fit De Battle of Jericho” before rocketing into space; Wellman in particular follows him wherever he goes.  Every now and then Miles jabs some mood setting chords with his Oberheim OBX synth as cues, while Garrett continues to combust.  The saxophonist bursting at the seams as a fragment from the bridge to “Milestones” is used as an ostinato, Davis signals a quick blast with his trumpet and the tune ends.  Garrett brought the audience and listeners at home on a thrill ride.
“Time After Time” , the Cyndi Lauper classic is ushered in as volcanic applause erupts from the audience, nearly drowning  out the music.  For 9 and a half minutes, the show belongs to Davis, as he gently finds all the melodic contours he can in the tune.  Like “Round Midnight” and “My Funny Valentine” of decades past, “Time After Time” became one of Davis’ signature ballads.  He drives his improvisation the same way  as Aretha Franklin, Pavarotti, Bocelli or Carreras would, with a marked sense of passion and timeless beauty.
Disc 1 closes with one of the Prince tunes, “Penetration” where everyone gets off on the raunchy funk.  Davis and Garrett are one during the track, and it truly shows the admiration and border less musicality that both icons would have shared, Davis struts with swagger between melody statements and Johnson rips into his solo with passion, Garrett’s searing alto ups the ante further.  As a contrast, “Jailbait” on disc 2, is a gut bucket blues where both Johnson and Garrett take scintillating solos..
The show closes with “Wrinkle” a wondrous maze of a melody that is awe inspiring when played a top speed, and “Finale” a drum solo feature for Wellman that showcases his patented bass drum triplets while keeping rock solid time on the snare, a sort of shuffle where the bass and snare switch roles, and some lightning samba as well as his signature Go-Go groove.
Sound:
Merci Miles is taken directly from the original tapes recorded and mixed by Patrick Savey and Mastered by John Webber at Air Studios in London.  Similar to Sony/Legacy’s Bootleg Series releases for Davis, the tape is from the official broadcast, in this case captured by the small Zycopolis studios.  Curiously for 1991, the sound is mono which could be due to whatever technical limitations of the tape, but it is very good strong mono.  The Schiit Bifrost 2 DAC manages to wring out very nice separation for the band in the mono soundstage: In particular, Davis trumpet is vibrant, brassy, golden and present.  Richard Patterson’s bass is commanding and takes the center of the sound stage, deep and rich.  Ricky Wellman’s drums are full of gusto, there is a reason his nickname was “Sugarfoot” and you hear that in all it’s glory.  Kenny Garrett’s passion radiates past the speakers, Deron Johnson’s keyboards float above the proceedings and Foley’s lead bass provides a wonderful textural contrast to everything else.
Concluding Thoughts:
The 80’s and early 90’s Miles cannon  has seen relatively scant archival releases versus everything from the 50’s-70’s.  Merci Miles is a welcome document of a band that truly was at the top of it’s game and at the peak of its powers.  Miles Davis, judging from this concert was showing little sign of slowing down in his playing, there is a vitality and joy here that  easily places this alongside his Montreux concerts of the period and the excellent Live Around The World (Warner Brothers, 1996).  A wonderful present honoring the great musical icon thirty years on from his passing.  The CD (reviewed here) and LP packages contain some particularly touching photos in a triple gatefold in the French Flag colors of Miles memorabilia from that final tour provided by Vince Wilburn, Jr and a superb liner essay from noted scholar Ashley Kahn contextualizing the history of the trumpeter’s French sojourns and the event itself, alongside some great photos.  The cover also features some nice embossing of the album title text and Davis’ name.  If there is any doubt about physical media, this album is a compelling case for why it’s so good to OWN a physical copy of an album.

“I think the universe is pure geometry- basically, a beautiful shape twisting around and dancing over space-time.” ✨ ~Antony Garrett Lisi 🦏All my life I have been fascinated by the patterns in nature and inspired to express my wonder by creating my own twist on these patterns, later, coupled with the energy of a dance pose. 🦏I didn’t want to just copy nature, that seemed too simple and unoriginal, not much of a challenge. It’s not that the natural decor was not enough, but more that I felt the need to create personally satisfying motifs, like my own ‘exclamation points”, to express how in-awe I felt.✨😮 🦏It was as if I was breaking them down into their essence, creating rich emblems to express how much they meant to me. My own personal comment on the wonders of nature, little symbols that bring me joy. 🦏 The skin of rhinos looks like armor. It is thick and tough, but in-reality, also quite sensitive. This is my take on regal armored skin for my “Rhino Dancer” sculpture, “riveted” together with iridescent gold dots and accents. 🦏And this is the type of dance that I could imagine an anthropomorphic rhino doing. It’s got an Indian kind of vibe to it. (Cue some Bollywood music🎼) “Rhino Dancer”, Mixed Media Sculpture, 69”H x 46”W x 20”D 🦏 Can you hear the music? Can you see the dance? Day 5: Etosha, Namibia
6:15 arrived early and cold, as it’s winter in Namibia (Southern Hemisphere and all). I stepped out of the tent to a blast of frigid air, some glowing campfire embers and a sky full of stars. It was truly breathtaking.
Reed and I mashed some nutritional units in our mouths and readied for Seblon’s (sp?) arrival. We hired a special car with 3 benches on the top (with a hard roof on top of that but open sides) to see the nature and such unencumbered. The only challenge is that our ride into Etosha at sunrise was brutally cold and windy. Tough Guy Reed didn’t want a blanket (he was definitely cold however), so I turned myself into a Russian nesting doll of blankets and hunkered down for the punishing ride in.
We would end up doing a long loop for the day, stopping by many watering holes and traveling along jarringly uneven paths. Plus, the outfitted structure we were riding in wasn’t build for max comfort. In the morning we saw giraffe, rhinos (rare!), kudu, oryx (my favorite), springbok and a pile of majestic zebras (I think that’s the scientific term - pile of zebras, similar to school of fish or murder of crows). It’s fun to scan the landscape to see who can find what. Reed was much better at locating animals than I (I think it’s because I lent him my BluBlocker sunglesses). It was a good morning, and as the temperature rose from 45 to 70, we really started to enjoy it all (except for the 3 metrics tonnes of dirt ingested, but I digress).
We were told that it was a slow day in the park, I think to temper expectations of what we may (or may not) see. As we got close to where we’d be having lunch, I talked (inner monologue) to my Dad. Today was the 4-year anniversary of his passing, so it was a more pensive day than most (I know he’d be quite proud of what I was doing, and would have loved to be with us). I asked my Dad to see if he could manifest an elephant for us. What African safari is complete without seeing one?
About 20 minutes into our scheduled hour and a half break, Seblon hurriedly came over and told us we need to move quickly to a watering hole. We indeed moved quickly and approached a picturesque view of the circle of life. No less than 15 elephants of varying age, zebras, springbok and birds were there. (Pics galore!)
We stayed here for about an hour, knowing how lucky we were to see such a spectacle. It was amusing to see how social the elephants were, playfully nudging each other around and helping a very young one to its feet (fairly unsuccessfully). When the elephants bristled a wee bit, the zebra went running, which spooked the springbok, causing the birds to depart in a disorganized cloud. There are only so many unforgettable moments in a person’s life, and this was one of them.
I think my Dad had a whole lot to do with it.
After this main event, we drove around more, finding rhinos, oryx (again, my faves), giraffe, and (more!) elephants! We took our time and watched how they moved and interacted. We were covered in dust, wind whipped, and wildly satisfied with our day.
Upon leaving the park, I had a FaceTime beer toast with Garrett for my Dad (rough WiFi, but we made it work). It was a fitting end to this incredible day, raising a local beer in honor of the man who cultivated this desire for adventure.
After watching the end of a tennis match with some locals, we headed back to camp. Our stargazing was cut short by the arrival of the biggest porcupine you’ve ever seen. Think about a porcupine. Then take that image and quadruple it. That’s what we’re talking about. This thing was an absolute specimen and we weren’t going to be the ones to spook it, so off to bed we went.

FRIDAY, MAY 24TH, 2019. at THE COPPER PENNY with @noahsutton.
The manager would have her head (and her job) if he knew Natalie was entertaining customers after last call, but when her eyes settled back on Noah’s face she had to ask herself one very important question--- did he really count? If the conclusion she came to was yes then she chose to ignore it for the sake of pouring out a new round of shots. Garrett was too caught up in the promise of a hot date to come back and check on things, anyways, and, if he did, she’d just dunk the evidence in the sink and claim Noah was her ride. Nobody needed to know it’d likely be the other way around tonight given the outcome of so many others. So, while one hand clutched a damp bar rag the other pushed over the second glass. “Consider this tomorrow’s payment, ‘cause Goose has a bit of a... cough.” Okay, in truth her car sounded like it’d swallowed a hoard of angry rhinos, but she didn’t need to scare him off of the job before he’d even said yes.

Easy Pro Funnels v2 Review – What You Can Do With It?
Sales funnels, as you might have guessed, are where the money is at. Bring visitors into your sales funnel and you’ll ease them into the sale and they’ll be in your funnel and you’ll get the profit as well as being able to give them the email market.
So what are the key types of pages you use Simple Pro Funnels to create?
    ♣    AFFILIATE PRODUCT FUNNELS
This is a great way to start the conversation with your potential customers. Well-constructed sales funnels are worth their weight in gold. When they enter their email address and join your mailing list, give free eBooks or another free offer.
Because at that moment you are not asking them to buy anything, getting them into the funnel with the right giveaway is easy.
As everyone will tell you, creating automated lists is the way to make money easier. Then you follow up with free details and such, and sell them on must-have products after a couple of emails. If you use GetResponse that you can actually script future interactions, this is very easy.
Usually any customer who gets into the funnel on average is worth at least $1 in the near future if you compare sales of customers who have signed up for free information and ebooks only.
    ♣    BONUS PAGES
When you offer incentives to sign up for an email list or bonuses that you sell in addition to the affiliated products (you can give your own bonuses to sweeten the deal), you need a website to visit and access those items now. The bonus download page is easy, and you can build it in minutes using Easy Pro Funnels.
  ♣    WEBINAR STYLE SALES PAGES
Webinar review style sites are another kind of page where visitors can join your sales funnel. This is usually a page that has some information about the webinar and some fields of the form where they put in their name and email to access the webinar.
  ♣    LEAD MAGNETS
Those are sites where they get free information products such as ebooks in exchange for the visitors name and email. You can use one of the thousands of free stuff in the system for givingaway very quickly so you can build one of them in 2 minutes or less.
  ♣    EXIT POPS
You can also set up an Exit Pop on any of these pages so that it pops up with a last-minute bid to get them into the sales funnel when they go to exit the website. You’ve seen these no doubt now.

Is Easy Pro Funnels Worth To Buy?
I really enjoyed this kind of app as an affiliate marketer. Easy Pro Funnels does not require your own products, a website, any technical skills, long-term training, complicated set-up, or previous affiliate sales history as it is a complete software solution for you.
It therefore saved a great deal of time compared to manual funnels on offer. I just certainly had to add the autoreponder at the time of the company.
Personally I recommend it to beginner in this Simple Pro Funnels Analysis to leverage the best with the given domain and host. For higher-level affiliates, the profits can be increased for et-and-forget funnel.

The CSF Evo X was never in the cards. Not even in my wildest dreams did I think I’d ever build an Evo. Like most everyone else, I’ve been a fan of Evo’s for a long time. But I never really had the burning desire to own one myself… if that makes any sense. So to have one at all is a little crazy. And to have one built at this level – is totally nuts!
Here’s the backstory:
I was at GMG at the end of November in 2016… just after SEMA. I was dropping off my Porsche 996tt for it’s yearly maintenance. And being that I’m good friends with the guys who work over there, I was walking around the shop with the Allan Ward (the GM), looking at some of the cars stye had in house. In the back of the race car building, was this damaged Evo X roller sitting on top of rack. I was perplexed on why GMG, a motorsports and high-end Euro company, had this Evo X there in the first place, amongst a sea of Porsches, R8’s, McLarens, etc.
Turns out the car belonged to one of their customers, Barry Zigler (owner of Swisher Sweets). He had the desire to race an Evo X, so they obliged. He raced it in the Pirelli World Challenge… and crashed it at the Long Beach Grand Prix. They bought another shell straight from Mitsubishi Motorsports to build the car up again, but by that time, Barry had moved on & decided that he wanted to race something else.
Get Baited
So for 3 years – this car sat in the back of GMG, with about 3 warehouse-bins full or race car parts, OEM parts, and spares… all sitting there. They had recently cleaned it up a bit… hoping that somebody would notice it and get baited. Well it worked… because that someone was me! I made a deal with the owner, James Safronas, to take everything. That was more his deal, than mine lol. I couldn’t just take what I wanted… it was all or nothing, as James wanted everything to do with this car gone!
He Said $25k.
I said $20k.
I told him I needed to go to the PRI show & handle some business… and that I would think about it. I called my good friend, Alex from Sheepey Built, and told him the deal. He said it was a no-brainer at that price, and told me to go pick the thing up! He said that if I did, he’d help me build something “epic”. So I came home from PRI about 10 days later to pick up my Porsche, and the deal was done. We met in the middle at $22,500… for everything.
A crashed Pirelli World Challenge car with the cage already in it + high end race car parts + all the spares. Since I travel to Toronto quite often for work, Alex from Sheepey Built told me to go meet Marco from Magnus Motorsports. “Work your magic & get him to jump on board with this project and let’s get some of his components for this build”, he said.
So that’s how Marco got involved with the project haha. And it turns out – we’ve become good friends in the process.
SEMA
With the goal of presenting the car at SEMA 2017, I wanted to work with my SoCal industry friends. I needed to work with people I could trust to get the car done in time. People who understood not just the trends & high-quality work… but the real meat & bones of the aftermarket industry, its deadlines, and the importance of a trade show like SEMA. These companies, are regarded as the best in the business in their area of expertise: Rywire, LTMW, Sheepey Built, MotoIQ, ASC Speed Metal, etc.
My goal for this build was to showcase the sum of what the best companies from SoCal could make – working together. Every company focusing on their own area of expertise, and being handed a blank canvas to showcase their work.
Logistically, the project became super-challenging for everyone involved. It really pushed everyone to the max… especially with the SEMA deadline as a critical component. I think it’s been one of the most challenging projects all the partners have ever been involved with, especially since not many of us actually work with Evo’s on a regular basis. It was challenging no doubt. But it’s also an extraordinary adrenaline/energy rush that a lot of us in the industry thrive on.
In the end, I think it’s been such a rewarding experience, and we’ve strengthened our friendships over the build. That’s something that I’m very proud. The cars will come and go, whether they’re Evos, Hondas, Porsches, or whatever… as will the trends. But the teamwork, friendships, camaraderie, and overall pulling-together really embodies what this tuning culture is all about!

9 Free 3D Design Programs to Get You Started with 3D Printing
Finding the right 3D modeling software for 3D printing is tough. That’s why we want to give you a complete overview about the best and most popular free 3D modeling software in this blog post.
Classifying and benchmarking different 3D design program is a very complicated matter as everyone has different preferences and applications for 3D printing in mind. Our 3D modeling & 3D printing community here at i.materialise uses tons of different software to get the job done: from free online 3D design apps to high-end professional software.
There are several reasons why it’s so difficult to find ‘the best’ 3D modeling software:
There are tons of 3D modeling programs out there. It isn’t a case of one software dominating the market, which can make choosing the right one quite complicated and confusing.
3D modeling software works in very different ways. One software might be quite intuitive for some people, but really complicated for others. There is no one-sizes-fits-all-approach.
Users typically have very strong opinions that the software they are using is the best one. So everyone seems to have a different opinion on which software is the most suitable for creating a 3D file.
Professional 3D modeling software often comes at a high price. Many people don’t want to take the risk of purchasing high-end software without having tried free software first.
But we’re going to take it step by step here. I will briefly describe the most popular free programs out there. I will also try to point out how you can progress to more sophisticated programs later.
I have tried to put them into different categories based on the style of 3D modeling that is predominant for each software. While you have to sculpt in some, you merge geometric elements in others.
Solid Modeling/Box Modeling:
If you are just starting and have never created a 3D model before, TinkerCAD is absolutely indispensable. It’s an easy beginner-friendly app with a LEGO-approach. Basically you will combine different geometrical shapes together, in order to create new objects. TinkerCAD is great if you like geometrical designs and a geometrical way of thinking. It’s very hard to create organic objects with the interface, however (like people, animals, etc.).
We have a tutorial about how to create your first 3D print in TinkerCad here. Take a look at it to get a better feel for this software.
This ‘saw wrench’ was designed by Pekka Salokannel in Tinkercad.
If you reach the limits of TinkerCAD and you like the logic behind this app, you can continue to more sophisticated software like Fusion 360. Fusion 360 was also developed by Autodesk, the company behind TinkerCAD. This powerful program is now available for free for students, enthusiasts, hobbyists, and startups. It combines the professional capabilities of a high-end CAD program with an user-friendly interface and workflow. That’s why Fusion 360 is such a popular program among industrial designers.
Parametric Design/Procedural Modeling:
Parametric 3D modeling software allows you to easily navigate and modify your 3D model by browsing back into the model history and changing its individual elements. Typically this software is at its most powerful if you want to focus on precision. However, you won’t have much ‘free-style’ design freedom.
FreeCAD is a free software that allows you to create precise geometric designs, such as technical parts, replacement parts, gadgets, cases, scale models etc. You can learn the basics in our beginner-friendly FreeCAD tutorial.
Typical workflow in FreeCAD: From a rough sketch to a precise 3D model.
If you would rather like to code your 3D model, OpenSCAD might be for you. This software uses programming language to create 3D objects. If you want to learn how to code your design, take a look at our OpenSCAD tutorial.
A screenshot of free 3D modeling software, OpenSCAD.
If you enjoy FreeCAD you might want to switch to the professional 3D modeling programs Autodesk 3DS Max or Autodesk Maya in the future.
Digital Sculpting:
Digital sculpting is the way to go if you want to create organic designs: people, animals or creatures. This is where your mouse movements matter the most, and mechanical precision matters the least.
Meshmixer is a powerful, free software that lets you sculpt digitally and mash different 3D models together. Mold and refine surfaces in real-time like virtual clay! Once again, we have the right tutorial for you to get started.
The ‘Piguin’ by Bert De Niel was created in Meshmixer and 3D printed in our multicolor material.
Sculptris provides an excellent gateway into the exciting world of 3D sculpting. Its features are easy to learn, even for someone with no experience in digital art. Yet the 3D sculpting software is robust enough to create base models that can then be refined in other, more sophisticated applications later.
If this kind of modeling is your cup of tea, you will probably want to switch to the professional premium software ZBrush later on or you can also try one of these 3D scultping programs.
Goat Skull by Jody Garrett was created in ZBrush, the professional version of free sculpting software Sculptris
Polygon Modeling/Contour Modeling:
In Polygon Modeling, your 3D object is basically a mesh based on vertices, edges, and faces. This allows for precisely editing parts of your object. By changing the coordinates of one or several vertices, you can change the shape of the model. That makes this way of modeling very powerful but also more difficult to start with.
The most popular free software in this section is called Blender. However, it’s also the most difficult program mentioned in this blog post. The power of design freedom comes with a steep learning curve. That’s why we published video tutorials on how to get started as well as on how to turn your Blender model into a 3D print.
Ax earrings by Blender expert Chris Plush.
A premium software that is somewhat similar to Blender is Modo, which also comes in a free 30-day trial version.
Curve & Line Modeling:
This is the process where models are based on drawing lines or curves in a 3D space. By joining these lines or curves together you will define the surface of your object. This manual way of designing allows designers to create precise objects.
SketchUp is a software that architects, interior designers, and scale modelers love. SketchUp is mainly based on lines – 3D models will be edgy as a result. The first steps are fairly easy, but making a printable model can be challenging sometimes. Take a look at our tutorials to learn how to create your first SketchUp 3D model and how to make it 3D printable.
Once you master this program, you might switch from SketchUp Make (free version) to the premium SketchUp Pro version.
Scale Modeler Guido Mandorf creates his tram models mostly in SketchUp.
For curve modeling Moment of Inspiration and Rhinoceros (Rhino 3D) are popular choices. Unlike SketchUp, you don’t focus on lines but rather on curves. This allows for great round shapes in product designs. You can check out our video tutorial to get a better understanding of Rhino. While Rhino doesn’t come for free, it offers a free 90-day trial. Enough time to test it.
Moment of Inspiration offers a 30-day trial. If you want to try a similar free software to start with, you might want to try free modeling program K-3D.
The Love Lamps by Sandro Lominashvili were designed in Rhino.
Now it’s time for you to visit the websites of these 3D modeling programs, take a look around, and download the free or trial versions. If you’re new to the world of 3D modeling, this interview about how to get started with 3D designing is probably of interest to you as well. You should also make sure to avoid these 5 common mistakes when turning a 3D model into a 3D print.
If you want to order a professional 3D print in 100+ materials and finishes, just upload it here and get your price immediately.

Personal Opinion
In my opinion, Vid Reaper is an incredible system for my online career. Although it is not a video builder tool, it works hand-in-glove with my video maker software, so I can brainstorm great topics for my videos, the titles, and keywords to get fast traffic.
It eliminates any that don’t qualify based on ranking, traffic, and other key indicators. Then uses the unique algorithm to return only results of videos and topics that are profitable.
Moreover, while other video research tools charge monthly fees, I only have to pay the one-time fee for Vid Reaper but have lifetime usage. Therefore, I highly recommend this software for marketers.
