1. What is Garbha Sanskar? The term Garbh in Sanskrit language means foetus in the womb and sanskar means educating the mind. So basically, Garbha Sanskar means to teach and educate the mind of the unborn baby. It is to have a bonding with the unborn.
2. Why is Garbha Sanskar necessary? In ancient scriptures and Ayurveda there is entire established process (from preconception to conception and various stages of pregnancy and delivery and as long as mother is feeding the child) as to what a woman should eat, what she should see, what she should avoid, what kind of music she should hear, what kind of people she should interact with etc. Good, positive thinking and sending pure vibrations also leaves an everlasting impression in the mind of foetus. Traditionally practiced since ages and now it is even scientifically proven that a child’s mental and physical behavior and personality is highly influenced by the thinking and other activities of mother during pregnancy. Every parent wants the best for their child. They all want their child to be happy, healthy and successful. How to do Garbh Sanskar?Garbh Sanskar practices dates back to Ayurveda and is known to nurture the bond between mother and the unborn. There are various ways to do Garbh Sanskar. Some of them are mentioned below. Read Spiritual books: Reading religious and spiritual books makes the mind calm and peaceful. You can read aloud these books. It helps in building good personality and passing on the wisdom to the unborn. Healthy and Balanced Diet: As we know the foetus eats what the mother eats. Therefore, it's crucial to take a healthy and balanced diet in meals. Pregnant mothers should eat fresh fruits and vegetables. You should eat a diet full of proteins and vitamins. This will also enhance the quality of breastmilk. You can eat flavors like sweet, salt, sour. Though you should avoid very spicy food and food with preservatives. You should consume calcium, folic acid and iron. Ayurveda suggests consuming panchamrut which helps to boost immunity and build potential. Listen to calm and soothing Music: We all know that listening to calm and soothing music relieves stress and makes us feel more relaxed. The baby in the womb starts listening and responding from the fourth month of pregnancy. Thus, a pregnant woman should hear calm, soothing melodious music. Listening to good music has good impacts on the unborn too. You can listen to mantra, shlokas, and spiritual music. It is beneficial to both the mother and the child. Practice Yoga and Breathing Exercise: Practicing yoga during pregnancy is very helpful for the health of mother and child. It makes the mother and child feel calm and relaxed. Yoga also relieves stress. Meditation: A pregnant woman undergoes various physical, mental and emotional changes during her pregnancy. To deal with these changes, one should practice meditation which brings tranquility, calmness, peacefulness and improves concentration and visualization. It helps in physical, mental and spiritual health of the baby.Be Creative: Being creative during your pregnancy can be very beneficial. You can practice hobbies like drawing, painting, pottery, knitting or simply gardening. Doing them will make you feel happy and peaceful. When you do these activities during pregnancy, they may also get inherited into your child and she/she will be creative too. Be happy and relaxed: Pregnant women should not consume horror or thriller content. Anything which makes you feel stressed or worried should be avoided as such content may have a bad effect on the foetus. Watch and read good spiritual content to sooth the mind, remain calm and relaxed.
