No, Fire is the way he is mostly because of Bluestar's influence during his training. She was raising him to be a leader so she was very invested in him as a cat in addition to his physical abilities.
Buuut he also wouldn't have gone on his whole revenge thing as the start of that was a direct result of Flamesong's death.
Flame is his "better half" so to speak. Even though they aren't twins, they honestly might as well have been from how close they were. Fire would be much better than he is in Dark Mirror canon. Not to the extent of his canon self though.. or I guess what should've been his canon self.
He also would've never been leader, as Flamesong was deputy before him. Flamesong theoretically would've changed the clan for the better had he lived. But alas he didn't.
