It’s a contradictory feeling since I do want to make comics about sweet and gentle animal people treating each other with respect and having pleasant lives. But I don’t feel much sweetness and gentleness in my daily or past life experiences, so it also seems dishonest…

SOULSILVER NUZLOCKE, pgs 1 and 2!
I’ve always felt that, unless you decide permadeath applies to everyone in your Nuzlocke run, there should be some reason your trainer persists despite the dangers. So I made one up! I also picked the starter with a random number generator and got quite lucky, since Chikorita would NOT be helpful for the first two gyms… but totodile is my favourite 😔

AN IMAGINARY CONVERSATION (cover page and pgs 1 - 3)
I’m estranged from my mother by choice, but I did try and have a final face-to-face conversation with her first. The attempt lasted less than five minutes and played out pretty much like in these pages.
How else might it have gone? Do I now, or did I ever, think it could go some other way? How would I like it to have gone, if I could have chosen?
