Liebe Franziska, das sind Welten in die wir immer nur am Rande blicken. Welten, in denen Menschen keinen einfachen Weg gehen, aber auch an jeder Biegung die Richtung wählen wie sie mir falscher nicht scheinen könnte. Der Protagonist Heiko und seine drei engsten Freunde sind als Fußballfans und Hooligans für Hannover 96 am Start. Der Verein ist die Ersatzreligion, denn Ersatzdroge stimmt nicht. Das ist Bier, manchmal Gras, manchmal diverses an anderer Chemie. Auch kein Problem, das aufzustellen, wenn der Onkel, bei dem Heiko arbeitet, ein dubioses Fitnesstudio betreibt, Zeug vertickt und die Fights organisiert. Mutter verlässt die Familie, Vater ist Alkoholiker, Schwester hadert damit, ihr Bruder schafft es nicht, emotional zu unterstützen. Onkel als Ausweg, weitere Kernfamilie. Heiko zieht früh aus, fängt ohne Schulabschluss nach dem Zivi an, bei seinem Onkel zu jobben. Wohnt strange bei einem Typen der unter anderem illegale Hunde- und Tigerkämpfe organisiert. Der einen echten Geier hält, der Vogel, der später seine Freiheit findet. Als Heiko zum Ende einen Aufbruch zu wagen scheint. Zu wünschen wärs. Überhaupt, sehr viele Tiere, für die es früher oder später anders endet. Schicksal schlägt viel. Trotzdem dem Leben ein Schnippchen schlagen. Liebe Maria, "Hool" von Philipp Winkler entführt in die Welt der deutschen Hooliganszene im Fußball, genauer gesagt in die Clique von Heiko, den "Jungen Hunden", die Hannover 96 ihre Treue geschworen haben. Das Buch berichtet über das Herzblut, mit dem die Männer für ihre vermeitliche Sache und ihren Verein einstehen, Männerfreundschaften, "ehrenvoll" davongetragene Siege, Niederlagen, Adrenalin und Testosteron, eine Menge leichter bis schwerer Verletzungen, das Leben der Mitglieder der Gruppe und einem Tiger. Bemerkenswert zu sehen ist, welchen Platz die Schlägereien speziell für Heiko, aber auch für seine Freunde im Leben haben, welches Gefühl jeder einzelne Kampf bei Heiko und seiner Gruppe auslöst und es nicht einfach macht, den Absprung zu schaffen. Oft kommt der Absprung bei den einzenlen erst dann, wenn es wirklich wichtigere Dinge gibt, wie bei Ulf, dessen kleiner Sohn langsam aber dennoch die Verletzungen seines Vaters bewusst wahrnimmt oder Jojo, der im Trainerjob eine neue Lebensaufgabe mit Sinn gefunden hat. Oder es sind die körperlichen Verletzungen, die ein Weitermachen unmöglich und Platz für Erkenntnisse frei machen. Heiko selbst hat nie eine anderen Lebenssinn für sich gefunden, umso schwerer wird es für ihn, Sinn und Unsinn einzelner Kämpfe zu erkennen - er stürzt damit unweigerlich tiefer in den Strudel der Gewalt und bekommt auch sein Privatleben immer weniger auf die Reihe. Ein kurzweiliges und unterhaltsames Buch in eine Welt, über die wir wohl alle nie so wirklich viel wussten. Seine Sprache ist der Szene und Hannover angepasst und angemessen. Interessant fand ich auch, dass Winkler zeigt, wie unterschiedlich die Mitglieder der Gruppe sind - nicht alle sind rechtsradikal, einige studieren, die einen pumpen und koksen und/oder haben sehr unterschiedliche private Situationen - er räumt damit mit dem Bild auf, dass alle in eine Schublade passen und sie stattdessen der Fußball und Kampfwille über sonstige Ideologien vereint. Sehr empfehlenswertes Buch, auch wenn ich nach wie vor nicht verstehen kann, wie andere in furchtbar unnötigen Kämpfen ihre Stärke und Eitelkeit beweisen müssen. Had a writing workshop today and it was great! We had sort of free range to decide what exactly we wanted to do. The premise was to choose a novel of our liking, analyse the writing style and then imitate said style in a completely different genre. So we had some people using the flowery description heavy language of a fantasy novel to describe a mundane day in the real world. Or the creepy dispense of a horror novel used to describe a fluffy movie night between two friends. (The friends were watching a rom-com so it wasn’t like they could somehow match the vibes to the movie.) It was great!

Unusual post for me but it needs to be said. I feel like the authors of “The three investigators” tend to fall into the “we were trying to be misogynistic but ended up accidentally writing something with queer energy” category quite a lot. An audio drama example: Switching out Kelly for Jeffrey in “Die drei Fragezeichen Das Geisterschiff“. Now you made it unintentionally queer, cause you so desperately didn’t want to include Peter’s canon girlfriend. Anyway thatqueermayhem and justusjonasesautism just had to listen to me rant about the misogyny in these books.

If I see one more post of someone claiming “The three investigators” doesn’t have misogyny/sexism, I’m gonna scream. Y’all can’t be serious, when these stories are littered with misogyny/sexism. Like I get it. You don’t want to admit that there are flaws in these stories you probably liked since you were a child, but for the love of it, stop it! They literally wrote out female characters, cause the audience supposedly disliked them. And you are claiming this series doesn’t have misogyny??? Well when there are barely any female characters chances to see misogynistic characterisations are rarer. (Psst they still exist. Like it’s not that the few female characters don’t fall into sexist stereotypes sometimes. And just because you don’t notice them doesn’t mean they aren’t there.)

I was debating cutting the part of Kim mentioning the anti indigenous racism, cause D3A also has (at least) two instances of the I-word being used, but I decided against it, cause it’s something I think she would post. And I personally would like to believe that all the characters (also the characters from the D3F universe) would stop using it if they were made aware of the fact that it is a racial slur.

The only times I’ve seen people claiming D3F doesn’t have misogyny was when they where putting down D3A as so much worse. Arguing that D3F supposedly didn’t have misogyny while D3A had.

Slightly of topic, but I really do want to draw Jeffrey with goddess locs now. Ahh! He would look so pretty with them.

Is this shamelessy plugging some of my personal D3F headcanons? Yes. I don’t care.

Listen if I was immersed in the Miss Marple books, I would have also added posts about that. I am how ever not at all immersed with the stories. (I wish I could do Franzi’s love for the character justice.)

Things I want to see on the TV show:

- Jülich parents triad. Do I need to say more???

- Oma Lotti. She better be there!

- Kim/Michi! Listen I just love them so much! (We are getting them for sure.)

- Queer Kim, Franzi and Marie!

- Queer couples

- Girl love interests for Franzi and/or Marie (I’m pretty certain that we are definitely getting Kim/Michi so I’m only mentioning the two)

- Queer things to happen

- the depression storyline that was promised in one article. There needs to be more mental health discussions in media for children and teens!

- a sensible take on social justice issues that they are planning to tackle. What I mean is that if they for example are going to talk about racism that they are doing so in a non harmful way

- since Kim is cast to be Asian-German (using Asian since we still don’t know what her parent situation is going to be) they better acknowledge that

- Franzi skating! And also Skateboarding Franzi! Skatergirl Franzi!

Scrolling through Instagram last night, I came across of a bunch of “D3A cast hanging out” content and oh my gosh!This show and the cast makes me so emotional and it’s not even out yet. It doesn’t even have a release date yet. 😭😭😭 Yet here I am going feral over the little content of them I find.

It was all just great. Like just teenagers hanging out and having fun.

There was a picture of the actress of Marie getting cheek kisses from the actresses of Kim and Franzi! And oh my gosh! This is making me so emotional! My Kim/Franzi/Marie heart can’t take it! (I wanna draw it so bad 😭🥺)

And there were so many (like 3-4) actors/actresses I couldn’t find out the role of and now I’m even more curious. I need to know more! AHHHH!
