I bought Burnout Paradise Remastered for the Switch a couple weeks ago because I'd heard "Paradise City" on the radio and as it turned out it was on pretty deep discount in the Nintendo eShop at the time. It's been making me think a lot about "what if a Sonic game was like this?"

Blasting through gates and billboards, finding ramps and landing huge jumps, boosting and drifting down wide-lane roads at dangerous speeds, etc.

Which, I mean, in a lot of ways, Burnout Paradise laid the groundwork so a game like Forza Horizon could exist at all. They share lots and lots of DNA, but Burnout is a little more over-the-top is all.

And there's a lineage there, too. Burnout comes from EA's "EA Sports BIG" era, where they were doing wild arcade fantasy sports games like NBA Street and SSX. Games like Sonic Rush take inspiration from both SSX and probably Burnout.

So yeah, I'd say there's something there.
