Flintfang! Fernshade and Blackstar's Brother, Mentor to Badgerfang. He is a reserved tom who follows Brokenstar out of duty to the warrior code, believing that Badgerpaw is chosen by starclan to train as his apprentice. He doesn't appear overly confident in this decision, but chooses to trust his faith, with passages that reveal he teaches the young cat every battle move he knows before the kit's first battle, and urging badgerpaw to remember his training when Brokenstar chooses the kit for battle after a gathering. When that turns fatal for his apprentice he shows great remorse, confirming with the gesture from a warrior ceremony the name Badgerfang chooses out of pride for his mentor. This event shakes him to his core, and he vows to never train an underaged apprentice ever again. He fades from narrative relevance until blackstar's novella, when he remarks that Flintfang looks much older than his siblings, worn down by sorrow and the carrionplace sickness. It's unknown how or when he passes, but he is a confirmed starclan member as of Night Whispers.

i improved upon my honey badger badgerfang concept. design notes below. going from top to bottom

FLINTFANG + BADGERFANG: flint’s design is inspired by a honey badger, while badger’s is inspired by a cheetah cub. cheetah cubs have fur that mimics that of a honey badger; i figured this would fit for badgerfang and his uncle due to badgerfang’s tendency to mirror flintfang, even wishing for his warrior name to have the same suffix as flint’s.

FERNSHADE: fernshade is inspired by a cheetah. not a whole lot of symbolic thought went into it… other than the fact that she’s badger’s mom and badgerfang is modeled after a cheetah cub.

THRUSHWING: going back to my “thrushwing kills badgerfang” au/headcanon, her design is inspired by a lion, as lions are common predators of cheetah cubs.

The Warriors Cats project of the day is Wriggle by road_eater! This project was submitted by @penny-fitzgeraldz. This PMV is about some of the underrated character this creator likes, these being Shellheart, Flametail, Flintfang, Cloudberry, Flywhisker, Tornear, Mistlekit, Redscar, Nightwing, Hollytuft, Mudfur, Beenose, Flipclaw, Redwillow, Pearnose, Featherwhisker, and Doestar! This PMV makes use of multimedia, using different backgrounds, one real photos and one crumpled paper, as well as both normal and two-colour designs. It's honestly a really cool PMV and it's always nice to see background characters get recognition. The art style is also very cute and the poses are super fun to look at!
