Here’s a sneak peek of the illustration I’m currently working on 👀⠀ ⠀ I think I have drawn this idea at least 4 times. I’ve sketched it out multiple times for sure - every time it changes just a little bit but the idea remains the same. This new style I’ve been working with is so comfortable, feels like some thing I was eventually going to arrive to. I find it so beautiful and it feels so me, so I knew I had to redo this illustration in this style.⠀ ⠀ This is also probably the first time I’ve done a fully rendered setting and background for this concept, and I have to say I’m very pleased with the result. #februaryartclub - 12 - Music I drew a Cultrún 🥁😬 It’s a ceremonial & musical instrument used by the Mapuche machi (shamans). It’s got a specific semi-spherical shape that symbolizes the world, sort of split open. The lines represent the cardinal directions & powers of their deity, the small symbols within each quadrant stand for the 4 seasons. #februaryartclub - 8 - Gathering/foraging⠀ ⠀ These are Digüeñes, native to southern Chile. It's a type of edible fungus that grows high up on the trees. These are actually quite delicious and go great on a salad 🤤⠀ ⠀ The warning is obvious once you see them, I don't recommend looking at them if holes bother you. Kaity tells me it makes her teeth hurt when she looks at them. I don't know what this means but if this kind of stuff makes you sensitive, stay away.
