MAX: Max is a very very picky eater. Malec has went through 700 different wars but nothing beats convincing Max to eat healthy. After continuous blackmailing and bribery—they would finally find something that Max likes but Max being the little shit that he is—would refuse to eat that thing the next day. It’s a struggle to find a food good enough for him every single day. This one time, Malec gets so fuxking tired with Max’s theatrics that they took a break from him. They let Max eat whatever the fuck he wanted for a whole ass week. Max got bored of eating ice cream three times a day. He went to Alec and Magnus and asked him why they’re not asking him to eat veggies anymore—do they not love him anymore. Malec gets all soft and feeds him broccoli and all that disgusting shit. Apparently, Max thought that annoying your family 24x7 is a love language. He went back to being a little shit the next day tho.
RAFAEL- Rafael would literally eat anything. He spent years on the streets and some habits are hard to break. Malec notices this and their heart kinda hurts so they try to make Rafe understand slowly and lovingly that he’s allowed to refuse to eat if he doesn’t like smth. (He doesn’t have to be a little shit like Max but he’s still a child and he gets to act out too). One night, Alec goes out to get some water and finds Rafael sneakily eating some cake that they had put in the fridge and he’s scared when his eyes land on Alec but Alec just takes him in his arms and the two of them eats the whole fckn cake sitting on the kitchen floor and if Magnus and Max found them two hours later eating cake—no one has to know about it.
ALEC- Alec has a very refined palette. He didn’t use to but he’s married to Magnus fuxking Bane and that man has taken Alec to a billion fucking dates and introduced every single cuisine on the planet. His favourites are Korean, Indian, Italian, Mexican and Indonesian (because of Rafe and Magnus cause he’s still a fucking simp). Alec is the one who makes everyone eat in their house. You know that one person in the family who eats the broccolis, tomatoes, cashews and all other stuff people remove from their food?? Alec is that out of the four of them. He’s not the best cook but he has the stupidest husband on the planet and two annoying kids who would never eat healthy if he wasn’t there. So he has become a decent cook in the past few years.
MAGNUS- my man’s a mystery okay? And so are his food habits. Magnus doesn’t have a favorite cuisine (except Indonesian). He always always loves to try new things so his favorite meals/cuisines changes every other week. The rest three have learned to keep up with him. However, Magnus appreciates a good comfort meal. New York Pizza, anything Alec cooks for him, Jace’s stupid smoothies (he likes it for some reason. He steals it from that fuxker every single morning), sunday pancakes made my Rafe and Max (do they burn it? Yes. Does Magnus still eat it? no. He magics another ones and pretends like he eat the burnt ones). There are only two rules when it comes to Magnus’s eating habits and thats—1) breakfast is THE most important meal. (Which is already canon yk so), 2) the four of them have atleast one meal together as a family every day.

my copy of the great race novelisation arrived!!!!!!!!!!
i read it in basically one sitting hhgghh. when i get time i will go back & document my thoughts in more detail, but for now here are some of the headlines off the top of my head
it opens with the backstory of how great fate’s villainous life was until leslie came & ruined it. also describes leslie as threatening partly because he’s younger which... sure
repeatedly tries to depict fate and max as being attracted to women in general/maggie specifically sjdjdjkskdkssk. however once max figures out that fate likes her, he starts openly hating and wanting rid of her.
leslie is still 100% a creepy misogynist and this time he doesn’t even take his top off BUT he does get stabbed in the shoulder during the sword fight so that’s fun
hezekiah’s name is changed to jebediah & he’s described as being very very tall/large. when prince hapnik meets him he says “wow he’s a big one huh!!” ... when maggie meets him she says “don’t you like women?” and he says “i like cars and airplanes”
max is described as “small and roly-poly” and later repeatedly as little and plump/chubby/fat 💕💕🥺💕💕 maggie also calls fate fat but the narrator neither confirms nor denies
it does at one point describe him curling up to sleep “like a big black bug” like okay king
instead of firing explosives at leslie from the dirigicycle, fate just stands on the roof and drops a concrete block on him. he misses. when they meet back up max says “you missed, huh”
when fate punches/bullies max, we actually get to hear how max feels about it (short version: it frightens him but he’s used to it 😭💔)
during the bar fight, max bites a man. just straight up bites him.
instead of just drifting on the iceberg, they all work together to partially dismantle their cars to build a propeller & drive it like a boat
very cute scene in russia where they all try to one-up each other making toasts and get absolutely hammered. max passes out under the table.
hapnik’s name is changed to devnik. we first meet him chatting to some girls “in a high, affected voice” about how excited they all are to meet leslie 🤷♀️
no waltzing, they actually have a banquet with acrobats and fire eaters instead of just talking about it
i suppose it must’ve happened in the movie, we just didn’t see it, but the way it describes hapnik & fate being stripped by the guards is surprisingly brutal
no pie fight???????????? they have the coronation at the palace to get it over quickly so when the heroes bust in at the last second, fate throws himself out of a second storey window. he jumps in the car and max says “gee i’m glad to see you again 🥰”
hezekiah gets a love interest in pottsdorf and stays behind there when the others leave for paris
it skips right over the wedding & therefore the bouquet moment 😔💐 also no iceberg kisses for anybody. fate & max still get to hold hands, curl up to sleep together etc so it still reads like they’re a couple. i love them.
it ends by talking about how fate is really an eternal optimist who believes “injustice will triumph in... THE END” he is SO the protagonist of this story it warms my fckn heart

oh man ummmm god this is so many characters. however i would also point out that stranger things takes place 1985 and it takes place in ‘89, so the stranger things kids are at least 3 years older than the it kids, which makes everything much funnier
dustin immediately befriends all the losers bc he is a Very Good Boy
i think he’d get along with mike h. best, bc they’re both just Very Sweet Boys, but also ben for the same reason
jfkdfjdlksfjdfd dustin actually tries to talk eddie out of being stressed and eddie’s just like “wtf is this” bc honestly rambling worries at the losers with no reaction or them laughing it off is just the way things are and eddie’s probably like “dude fuck off i’m fine” and dustin’s like “oh. okay.” and then just switches to telling eddie he’s fine when eddie starts rambling bc eddie is clearly very disturbed by being humored
mike w. would immediately hate richie, this is just a fact and i stg if someone makes this into a “mike’s homophobic” joke i will throw hands i’m so tired of it bc richie is loud and annoying and would see mike’s disgust as an invitation to be as annoying as humanly possible and also he would constantly tease mike w. for being a nerd even though he has significantly better grades than him
but tbh richie and mike w. both share the Will Absolutely Do Dumb As Balls Shit For My Friends Without Hesitation trait and i think once they see that in each other they would then be super good friends who would rather die than admit that they’re friends at all
however mike w. would lowkey be frustrated with bill for the rest of eternity bc bill has good plans/thoughts right up until the time comes for a plan of attack at which point his plan is to attack and so mike w. keeps going “ah yes a man of my own heart, gathering all the facts and then... oh he’s just off doing some crazy shit again.” like mike does this too but he always has, like, a plan. bill is methodological right until he sees something to go at and then he’s just fckn gone
bev thinks mike w. is adorable and totally takes him under her wing which he hates bc he’s literally older than her. same with mike h. who is just like “yep same name, you’re my buddy now” and mike w. is just like “THAT MEANS NOTHING ALSO I AM OLDER THAN YOU”
stan would get along with mike w. but only after he’s become totally-not-friends with richie
eddie keeps making jokes about how mike w. is like if richie was a civilized person but then he’s also ready to throw hands with mike w. for anything at all, possibly because of this. meanwhile mike w. just doesn’t know what to make of eddie
lucas honestly is a lot like mike in that he’d get along with the quieter losers and be very annoyed by both richie and eddie. he would, however, have a crush on bill. no i will not elaborate
however i think he and mike h. would bond over being black in small predominantly white towns and it would be very funny bc richie absolutely wants to be included but then mike h. is just like “no, this bonding is not for you” and richie slinks off and lucas is like “yeah uhhhhhh what’s up with him?” and mike h. is like “honestly he just likes to talk, you learn to filter out what he doesn’t mean”
lucas totally tries to set bev and ben up. he is so bad at it, but ben and bev both find it very charming
max would immediately be fixated on bev. she would teach bev to skateboard and bev would be so happy to just chat with this tough younger girl. also, possibly as a result of this, she’s the first of the party to like richie, because she’s also the loudest of the party? so she kind of gets when to listen to richie and when to roll her eyes and move on
she also teaches eddie to skateboard. she tries to be nice about it for like 3 minutes and then realizes that being gentle with eddie is actually kind of the opposite and just gives him easy tasks and absolutely ignores his fretting and then, partly just because he’s fueled by rage that she shoved him onto a skateboard and let him loose, he ends up really good at it
she would honestly get along with the losers pretty well. she’s more like them than the rest of the party
she does, however, join mike w. on his “wait bill hold up what the fuck” judgement spirals
richie and eddie would alarm the fuck out of el. richie is loud and unpredictable and has 10000 questions about her powers. eddie has 1000 questions about her time as a lab rat. they both talk so fast. she is not good enough at speaking for this. please help her
mike h. has to drag them both away and apologize for them. el is fascinated by him. she was not entirely aware multiple people could have the same name and she watches him like she’s trying to see how he is the same as mike w. and he is just really patient with her
i think she also has a fascination with most girls and what it means to be a girl bc she was dehumanized so long, so she finds bev and her short hair so very curious and bev lets her quietly inspect her curls without saying anything
at some point el notices that eddie’s life is also overcontrolled and possibly even notices some of the same manipulative tactics and points it out to him in that simple way of hers and eddie’s just like “i would kill for you now” and he’s so intense about it but she’s like “okay” bc she kind of gets where he’s coming from
she’s also a big romantic so she and ben would get along and ben teaches her how to write neater and helps her read more poetry
will is too small and polite for the entire losers club tbh. he’s hiding behind lucas, dustin and/or mike w. the entire time. it takes like 50 years for ben to kind of pry him away and carefully befriend him, and then mike h. follows suit.
will thinks stan is safe at first but stan is just a controlled feral and would not know how to act around someone as genuinely quiet as will. like, he just watches him with this aura of so are you gonna do something interesting orrrrrrrr
richie absolutely wants to befriend the hell out of will and will’s just like oh god please no while richie bounces around him like “wow so you were trapped all alone in the upside down and survived! wow that’s so cool!” until mike w. is like “WOULD YOU SHUT UP???” and then will escapes behind mike w. while richie watches him like an overeager puppy
will has no idea what to do with bev. it’s very awkward
eddie would eat will alive. he takes one look, goes, “ah, this is what everyone thinks i am. it is now very clear to me that they are wrong” and just goes full goblin child around him. even richie is bewildered by it.

her mother arranged a marriage for her with the son of a man that holiday’s mom was in love with, always made holi Salty to the Max
holi was a god awful child.......... she would always hit and smack nannies and most of them had to quit bc of the toll she took on them, until holi’s parents hired this woman named boyeon who was old, cranky, really was not afraid of holiday
earned holi’s respect that way
anyway so eventually holi starts growing up and the attention that she gets from boyeon and all the girls who were friends with her only for the money,,, ,, , their attention becomes not enough
and then one day when she’s thirteen a girl group comes to her hotel and everyone’s suddenly ignoring her and fawning over that gg and holi’s not even jealous, she decides she wants that same kind of attention. so she goes and auditions for bc and makes it in
(honestly to this point her debut is the only thing she’s ever worked for so nowadays if you try to tell her otherwise she’ll hate you forever)
anyway so she begins training, at the same time she meets the man she’s supposed to marry and falls head over heels for him

she absolutely loves to garden. her house is like a greenhouse honestly,, she learned to garden when she was living in isolation in busan and loves it

loves cats. wants to adopt a cat, is currently doing her research about properly caring for them and different breeds and such
when it comes to bc artists, holiday is like ;;; really sorry. if you trained or debuted anytime from 2007-2012, you probably knew her and she’s really repentant of her behavior and likely hasn’t kept in contact with a single bc artist bc she’s too ashamed to show her face, feels like she has to repent to make up for all the pain she caused everyone during her time at bc. she’s honestly seriously humbled herself now and while she’s proud of the progress she’s been making, she tries her best to hide her eyes and face whenever she sees a bc artist. as a result ppl at bc probably think she’s still a bitch, and honestly she believes she deserves it
