Scrapbook 2022 | Pt III
For anyone that’s new to this, this is how I keep track of all of the things that I enjoy and/or create throughout the year. I have literally been doing this since I had a livejournal.
It’s a nice little snippet of my life and helps to organize my brain.
A reminder:
Normal font - Indifferent/Neutral Italicized font - Enjoyed bold font - Loved with an asterisk* - All time favorite (bracketed titles) - Re-watches/Re-reads strikethough - Disliked
Goals are: read 80 60 books , finish six video games, write more than 20 fics or something larger than 20k, and expand on your original novel outline to the point that you START WRITING.

these days of dust by sonhoedesrazao | The Sandman | Dream/Hob | 3k | There is something different about him, though his appearance is identical. The curious part of Hob Gadling, the one that ensures that his wish to live persists through the ages, can’t wait to figure out what it is exactly.

Clear Blue Sky by spqr | Suits | Harvey/Mike | 17k | Whenever Mike’s allowed herself to think about Harvey and sex, she’s mostly imagined: Clooney and Lopez in Out of Sight, Bruce Wayne and Bond girls, clandestine choreographed encounters in anonymous hotel rooms, gorgeous Italian and Russian and other such intimidatingly foreign supermodels peeling him carefully out of tuxedos with price tags that would make Mike’s eyes water – neat, elegant encounters that left the women as puddles of goo and Harvey cooly unaffected, lighting a cigar on the balcony and looking appraisingly out at the city while his partners recovered.
December
Lest We Forget by @tierfal | FMA | Roy/Ed | 26k | Ed wakes up in the sewers with very little recollection of how he got there, wearing seriously boring clothes. It's… probably going to be fine.
Winter's Crown by astolat | GOT | Jaime/Robb | 76k | “When the Night’s King rides,” the giant said, each word slow as cold honey pouring, “the King in the North must answer. The King in the North…whose name is Stark.”

Lover's Curse by littlesystems | The Untamed | Wangxian | 16k | “Are you familiar,” Lan Xichen says, “with the Lover’s Curse?”
The Kissing Thing by thistledome | Stranger Things | Eddie/Steve | The slow but inevitable queer awakening of Steve Harrington through the pursuit of casual make out sessions and pointed guidance from his friends, followed by his eventual realisation that the boy he wanted was in front of him all along.

𝐡𝐬𝐡𝐪𝐭𝐚𝐬𝐤𝟎𝟑𝟑            𝐣𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐚 𝐧𝐞𝐱𝐭 𝐠𝐞𝐧. ' ̖-
we got a little bit carried away but this is v2 of our jelimpia kids ( our first au kinda made us sad so we sent them to therapy ).  / @olimpiacroy
𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐮𝐩.
after a tumultuous number of months and years, olimpia and jelani kind of get their thing to work and then bam ! olimpia gets pregnant by accident. it’s their ( misguided ) optimism that makes them think that they can handle a baby. terminating the pregnancy would have been a tough call for olimpia anyway, keeping the baby seems like a natural decision.
the first kid is definitely olimpia’s ; jelani’s still trying to figure out if he has it in him to be a dad. olimpia never forgets to complain about how she’s doing so much. in true jelimpia style, the quips escalate, and then it happens. one night, she so much as implies he’s behaving like his father and he snaps. jelani mwezi, whose tongue is so readily dipped in poison, had not a word to say as he slams the door shut behind him and disappears. it doesn’t last long ( a couple of nights, more than enough to have fanni pestering olimpia to forget him ), but he returns, of course ; he knows where he wants to be, and it’s with oli and kai. it’s a rocky couple of years that drive them to go to therapy, get their shit together — they can’t be stupid 20-something-year-olds forever.
the first two kids are born in europe but they move to tanzania before the youngest is born. it’s olimpia’s way of saying every past mistake is water under the bridge. all the kids are baptized in budapest though, it was not up for debate.
𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐬.
the kids have names that the parents liked. malakiàs is the name of a prophet, olimpia wanted a biblical name and it was pretty. safiri sounded nice. safiri and malakiàs both kind of sound like gemstones ( sapphire & malachite ) so it’s an added plus. akina was a name with attitude and it sounded pretty too. all kids are croy-mwezis because jelimpia wanted the kids to have an obnoxious name probably.
𝐢. 𝐌𝐀𝐋𝐀𝐊𝐈𝐀𝐒 𝐓𝐀𝐊𝐈 ( jordan bolger fc )
zodiac sign: sagittarius name meaning: ( biblical ) messenger ; god-fearing
olimpia wants malakiàs to be living proof of how her relationship with jelani is not as hopeless as people think it is. she has high expectations for little ki and is a very hands-on parent the first years of his life. jelani is a bit absent — there, but not really there ; being a dad is difficult on him and he isn’t quite there yet. but these are formative years for ki. he’s relatively young when he gathers that his dad is not like the ones on tv. preschool aged and already bitter, ki begins to act up. aggressive brawls in the playground, snarky just-under-breath backchat to his nanny. olimpia is sad, but jelani is crushed — after all, it’s much too familiar ! a rough twenty years prior, it was he who was throwing messy punches in the school yard. this was a reality check for him. he’ll seek help before turning drowning in the rabbit hole that transforms him into andrew mwezi-rhodes.
malakiàs has many names but the most common nicknames are ”kai” which is used internationally and ”ki” which is used by family. olimpia usually calls him malakiàs though because it’s a name she chose and loved. ki starts acting out the older he gets and eventually olimpia just gives up. she doesn’t know what to do and kind of sees ki as a lost cause. ki grows up to be an independent adult.
the shame is that ki is the smartest kid of the three. just a bit smarter than average. but he never  applies himself. he does the bare minimum in school. he gets average ( sometimes excellent ) grades, so he has no reason to spend time and energy on studying.
ki has only one passion: american football. he was three when he attended his first match, club seats to a cowboys vs patriots game, sat on the lap of grandpa andrew ( a big money american with friends in higher places ). he was four when his grandfather gifted him his first football, complete with mini goal posts and a helmet. and how jelani envies ! he envies his ki, who at four years old has garnered more affection from the man that he has over two decades ; and he envies his father, who had ignited a little spark in those chocolate brown eyes that not even olimpia had managed. how dare he ? so he overcompensates. every game day is a game day. new jerseys for each game, signed by all the big names at post-match meet and greets. little league games were proceeded with a feast of ki’s choice ( all too often, mcdonalds ). he does what he feels is necessary to ensure ki would pick him over grandpa andrew.
olimpia had long backed off, and jelani was never all that paternal, so his teenage years divulged in a rebellious streak. he most certainly has a fling with a zulu ( kenny’s kid most likely ) and he’s bffs with karla de braganca ( a fact, no one can contest this ).
godparents: @imanv, @lcvcntc
𝐢𝐢. 𝐒𝐀𝐅𝐈𝐑𝐈 𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐍𝐈 ( addis miller fc )
zodiac sign: libra  name meaning: journey ; second
safiri was jelani’s redemption arc. he was planned, he was wanted & he was cared for. he was born five years after ki. safiri grows up wanting to fix the family. he sees the cracks in his parents’ relationship and the issues his brother has. safiri does everything in his power to keep the family together. family life is probably the main source of stress for him.
safiri is popular though. he takes after jelimpia the most: stubborn, social and so sure of himself. his squad is the it squad of instagram. had he been born in the 90s he would have been bffs with kendall and sofia richie. he’s the luka sabbat / fai khadra of the next gen.
his real bff is céleste d’orléans. ciel likes taking pictures and safiri loves posing. they do projects together and just click. safiri gets along with both of his parents but he’s definitely jelani’s child.
godparents: @siljcs, @aurcls
𝐢𝐢𝐢. 𝐀𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐀 𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐄𝐙𝐈𝐀 ( tasha green fc )
zodiac sign: aries name meaning: solidarity ; summer
akina happens because olimpia needs a daughter. a bit less than two years after safiri. two kids should have been enough but no. akina is luckily a girl and olimpia is over the moon. olimpia tries her hardest to have the most iconic mother-daughter relationship one can hope for. akina definitely talks to olimpia about everything but olimpia can be a bit suffocating.
akina is a late bloomer. jelani tells olimpia to take her to speech therapy when she’s almost two and hasn’t learned to speak. akina has always been quiet. she’s an observer with a million thoughts running through her head. she doesn’t really like the role she has in her family.
so when she graduates from high school she goes to live with the savari kids. she redefines herself outside of her family and realizes what she wants to do and that is art. after her gap year she applies to central saint martins to study textile design. she loves london and her new freedom. she sends postcards to her parents and lots of polaroids. social media is so uncool.
godparents: @fannicroy, @bastivvn

BAE Brings Ancient Sounds and Future Beats to Brooklyn’s Turk’s Inn
Tumblr media
The conclusion of BAE’s Ancient Sounds x Future Beats in the Sultan Room at Turk’s Inn, 1/11/20.
Old met new and east met west in Bushwick, Brooklyn last month as the women-driven music collective BAE threw Ancient Sounds x Future Beats, a unique concert for the launch of their music label in the Sultan Room at new venue Turk’s Inn. Billed as “a mystical night of global music, arabic percussion and tribal fusion bellydance,” the show featured multi-instrumentalist Spy From Cairo backed by members of the Brooklyn Gypsies along with Tasha Blank of the The Get Down party fame leading an all-female DJ roster and a ensemble of dancers from Sister of the Blooming Sun.

Guests got a taste of the evening on during a pre-party on Turk’s Inn’s roof featuring tarot reader Nicole Roche, henna tattoo artist Natalia Zamparini and warm-up DJ Sweaty By Nature. There we spoke the venue co-owner Varun Kataria, who along with friend and partner Tyler Erickson imported the Arabian interior of a vintage Wisconsin supper club and opened it’s new incarnation last summer. Wearing a sharp, colorful jacket, Kataria mingled with the performers and told me about the diverse acts his club hosts. “One of the great blues slingers James "Blood” Ulmer is finishing up right now for the Winter Jazz Fest before this show begins around 11 o’ clock,“ he told us. "We’ve even had Alicia Keys here, it’s awesome.”

The Sultan Room filled with BAE’s fans who are culled not only from the collective’s dance parties but also from the yoga and wellness events that the various DJ’s and dancers host. After an opening DJ set by Brazil’s FlavYa, BAE’s founder Reem Abdou aka DJ Dreeemy quieted the audience and introduced them to the show. While leading them in some deep breaths, she told them “we welcome you on during this full moon and hope you feel comfortable and have respect for this place we’ve come together. This party also marks the launch of Sonic Alchemy, it’s our new music label, so tonight we invite you to feel the rhythm and dance your resolutions as we start a new year.”

Reem handed the stage over Spy From Cairo whose 20 year career has been influenced by Arabian, Indian and Balkan cultures that he combines with modern electronica. As he played an amplified Oud along with a clarinetist and percussionist from the Brooklyn Gypsies, dancers from Sister of the Blooming Sun performed a choreographed opening ceremony before dispersing amongst the crowd with their lighted orbs, Arabian swords and candles. As the live music gave way to the DJ’s, they performed an improvised ritual for dancer Lysistrata Wong’s birthday. “We totally came up with it tonight,” Wong told me. “The sacrificed me with our swords before I was ‘reborn’ while they burned candles and sage. It was so cool to do that a for an audience.”

BAE has more events lined up this year like their recent Sonic Alchemy DJ and audio production workshop last month in Williamsburg. The event had BAE teaming up with local Half Moon Radio and Brazil’s Escoteca. [TASK 068: METIS]
Shout out to @olivaraofrph for helping compile this task in celebration of Native American Heritage Month! Metis are a distinct group of people separate from Native American or First Nations tribes, as their ancestors were early French and English colonizers who early on mixed with members of Native tribes, mostly Wabanaki, Mi'kmaq, Algonquin, Saulteaux, Cree, Ojibwe, Menominee, or Maliseet but others made their ways too. As Metis evolved, many continued to marry other mixed people, and sometimes other Europeans or Natives, to get to where it is today as a distinct native identity to be Metis. For the most part they reside in Canada, where they are recognized as one of the three groups of Aboriginal people, but to a lesser extent, they live in the US as well. There’s a masterlist below compiled of over 110+ Metis faceclaims categorised by gender with their occupation and ethnicity denoted if there was a reliable source. If you want an extra challenge use random.org to pick a random number! Of course everything listed below are just suggestions and you can pick whichever character or whichever project you desire.
Any questions can be sent here and all tutorials have been linked below the cut for ease of access! REMEMBER to tag your resources with #TASKSWEEKLY and we will reblog them onto the main! This task can be tagged with whatever you want but if you want us to see it please be sure that our tag is the first five tags, @ mention us or send us a messaging linking us to your post!
THE TASK - scroll down for FC’s!
STEP 1: Decide on a FC you wish to create resources for! You can always do more than one but who are you starting with? There are links to masterlists you can use in order to find them and if you want help, just send us a message and we can pick one for you at random!
STEP 2: Pick what you want to create! You can obviously do more than one thing, but what do you want to start off with? Screencaps, RP icons, GIF packs, masterlists, PNG’s, fancasts, alternative FC’s - LITERALLY anything you desire!
STEP 3: Look back on tasks that we have created previously for tutorials on the thing you are creating unless you have whatever it is you are doing mastered - then of course feel free to just get on and do it. :)
STEP 4: Upload and tag with #TASKSWEEKLY! If you didn’t use your own screencaps/images make sure to credit where you got them from as we will not reblog packs which do not credit caps or original gifs from the original maker.
THINGS YOU CAN MAKE FOR THIS TASK -  examples are linked!
Stumped for ideas? Maybe make a masterlist or graphic of your favourite faceclaims. A masterlist of names. Plot ideas or screencaps from a music video preformed by an artist. Masterlist of quotes and lyrics that can be used for starters, thread titles or tags. Guides on culture and customs.

Congratulations, Tasha! You have been accepted for the role of Zig Lehmann (FC: Jack Lowden). In writing Zig I was a little unsure how he’d be received. He could certainly be interpreted as a frat boy type gone bad... or the actual, Patrick Bateman-esque level that he is. With your application I didn’t have to worry. You captured his voice so well - in fact, I think you understand him better than me. Thank you for such an enriched and thoughtful application. We particularly liked the details of Devil’s Knot that you included, like Zig’s role as a lawyer, and how that related to the Goode family. This is a great start and we can’t wait to see where you take him! Please have a look at this page prior to sending in your account.
OUT OF CHARACTER
Name: Tasha Age: 21 Pronouns: She/her. Timezone:EST. Activity estimation: My work schedule fluctuates so I won’t have a set time of when I’d be doing replies each week, but I usually have most nights off and am pretty good with getting them done, because it’s basically my way to wind down at the end of the night! Triggers: None.
IN CHARACTER: BASICS
Full name:Siegfried ‘Zig’ Lehmann. Age (DD/MM/YYY):Thirty-one. 09/08/1965. Leo sun, Capricorn moon. Gender: Cis male. Pronouns: He/him. Sexuality: Bisexual biromantic. Occupation: Community lawyer. Connection to Victim: How did he know the Goode family? He doesn’t. In fact, the first time he even caught a glimpse of Linda was when she was seated across from a police officer, recounting the moments before her boy disappeared. She was dishevelled and snivelling but he walked past the glass paned expanse without a second glance. Teary-eyed folk were often a burden that he had no desire to represent on the occasions that he did such work. It’s always harder to make a case when clarity is stifled by hiccuping drivel. And, when he found out who she was, sympathy rode on the coattails of immediate rationality. If anyone were to lose a kid, it would only make sense that it be the fresh-faced newcomer, mother of, well he’s not sure how many, but he remembers that the Goode’s arrival had made headlines with the gaggle of elderly that dominate the cafe at the crack of dawn. Where’s her husband? Surely, it had to be the question of everyone’s mind even if no one had the guts to say it. Alibi:He was in the precinct at the time of Brian’s disappearance. He’d been called in for more of a favour than anything else. Seriously, they owe him one. His legal presence was required, or rather, demanded from a regular drunkard, an emphatic day-drinker. One that had gotten too rowdy at the bar and been taken in as soon as he’d gotten a bit too handsy. His undeserving client had apparently been screaming his head off about the right to counsel, citing the amendment and clawing against the bars as if his lame existence were being oppressed. To put it simply, he was called to calm a petulant child, a child that by the time he’d arrived had passed out against the cold concrete slabbed floor of the small cell. Faceclaim: Jack Lowden.
WRITING SAMPLE
The tether that connects child and kin is a fraying split-end, but they say that hair is stronger than a strand of steel and anyways, it would be unwise to bring shears to a relationship that needn’t be cut. The ailing floorboards of his parent’s porch, his childhood home, creak under the heel of his polished brogues. The screen-door hangs ajar, and he brings a balled fist up to knock before remembering that they don’t possess the foresight to lock their front door. He’s never mentioned it because he does possess the foresight to know that he’d like to avoid the punishment of a lecture that revolves around how trust should be instinctual, an argument supported by an unnecessarily proud citation of a couple of unheard of pseudo-intellectuals. This visit comes as the result of a phone call from his mother, the night that Brian Goode disappeared. She uses it as an excuse to invite him over, and he’s learned how to be diligent. There’s a common misconception that to appease anyone is to cast yourself as a pushover, but it takes perception to know which feathers are worth ruffling. Besides, he loves his parents. How could he not as they each pull him into a hug that lasts too long for comfort, the gaudy bead bracelets sliding down his mother’s wrists as she reaches to caress his face in her hands? Deep-set dimples embellish his smile, he loves them even if sometimes he doesn’t quite understand them, even if that sometimes makes him dislike them. Fleetwood Mac blares from a boombox misplaced above the fireplace mantle. It’s bookended by his old swimming and cross country trophies, relics to himself but the metallic shine makes them look like souvenirs from the future against the handmade quilts that haphazardly line the couches and the coffee rings against hardwood that have been left long enough to stain. It makes his eyes hurt so it’s his utmost privilege to return to a portrait far more pleasant. He takes his mother’s hands in his own, if only to relieve clammy palms from his cheeks and does a little two-step jig to the rhythm that makes his mother beam with delight. Out of the corner of his eye, he sees his father open a bottle of wine. His presence is always seemingly cause for celebration. Is that what parenthood does to a person? Under a magnifying glass, the edges of his lips relent, flickering slightly with a distaste for the overbearing. But a breath and he’s back, “You never show the B-side any love. C’mon, Oh Diane? A classic.”
At the dinner table, he tops up his parent’s glasses, and mulls over whether he should bring it up. He decides, between a filler smile and half-assed cheers that he’d rather be the one steering the conversation. “It’s…” He shakes his head, as if to vocalize the incident would be to inflict a torture upon himself. Green hues hold until his lips part to speak once more.  “Well, it’s just heartbreaking isn’t it?” Perfectly timed, but acknowledging the fact’s a failure in itself. One day it will be natural, instinctive, for tears to well in the face of tragedy, for brows to furrow with concern over the most trivial affairs. His father notions to the possibility of the 1984 case being somehow correlated to Brian’s disappearance - he waves his fork like he’s onto something, an amateur musician conducting an orchestra of equally amateur theories. “Poor taste don’t you think? The kid’s been missing less than thirty-six hours.” A conversation clipped out of disinterest, his parents shirk from the bared teeth that accompany an uncanny levity in his smile of disbelief. He wonders whether they were always so meek or if it’s something that Zig had inspired in them. Though his casual cruelty has been tamed since adolescence, he no longer indulges in crass sentiments about abducted kids, even if they hold more truth than pursed lips and pitying looks. He excuses himself before dessert is served, but can’t avoid the twinge of disappointment his mother does her best to hide. It makes his jaw clench. He tells them about the ongoing search parties, but resigned to a life of passivity they ensure that their old legs would only slow the search down. When he leaves, he finds his teeth still gritted, but he loves his parents. With all his heart.
ANYTHING ELSE?
PINTEREST ( it’s not as fully fleshed out as i’d like it to be but ! ) / also thank you so much for taking the time to read over my app, i’ve been poring over this rp for days now and think it is truly, the bee’s knees.
So what’s the deal with you and your parents? There’s no deal. Does it bother you that some people just have healthy relationships with their parents? When his parents bring up his German heritage, it often feels like they’re grasping for straws. His ancestors immigrated to the United States in the early 19th century. His parents have no trace of that ancestry, perhaps apart from their last name and penchant for German academics. It’s always bothered him, that they forge ties between themselves and their homeland, from recounting Germanic myths as bedtimes stories (and that’s where your name comes from) to bookshelves lined with everyone from Marx to Kracauer. He hasn’t read any of them. Perhaps if they were full-fledged academics, perhaps if they had something, anything to their name, he’d understand this…Passion. Yet their intellectualism remains a hobby, uncapitalized, thrown into the mess of his childhood home right beside scribbled down recipes and rugs that bare the footprints of their two dogs. He wouldn’t be like them, rife with aspirations that sit like unblown fireworks until they withered away. It’s a one-sided distaste, something he barely catalogues but can’t seem to let go of fully. If anything, they’re a good example of the path in life he’d choose not to follow. Keep in touch. Think of it like a pilgrimage, pops. Home is home.
He always knew he going to return to Devil’s Knot, the town had always treated him with the utmost adoration and there was no reason to try and fix something that wasn’t broken. Unlike other teenagers with stars in their eyes, yearning for endless freedom and possibilities that could only be found in big city life, he had no desire to be someone in New York, but rather, and more realistically, he saw that he could be the one in Devil’s Knot. He studies law on scholarship at a university in Chicago. He enjoys being witness to the hedonistic conquests each students partakes in, throwing back beers as though their bodies are merely a vacuum, the mantra of more, more, more playing like white noise. He gets it, he wants it all too, he’s just smarter as to how he goes about it. Though, it doesn’t stop him from participating in drinking one too many, a habit picked up from high school that makes college a cinch to fit in. He becomes something of a god himself, drunk on life and still pristine by morning, even with a shirtless man softly snoring by his side. He’s confidently bisexual with a strong preference towards women. Though he’s never and most likely never will have a longstanding relationship with a man, gender would not distract from the fact that he’s fiercely private about his relationships, preferring to skip the topic altogether when he’s out with the boys. After he graduates, he returns to Devil’s Knot with a newfound sense of validation that this is where he’s meant to be. Piece of cake? Yeah…Please. Thanks. His urge to take in everything around him goes hand in hand with the practice of control. Everything isn’t an impossibility, but it cannot be done all at once. He mediates everything he consumes, after all, he doesn’t want to burst or worse, burn out. Long are the days since high school parties, drunk and trundling into Roberta’s just before close to order a burger and fries that could easily be rectified by an early morning swim the next day (he has an aptitude for pushing through even the gnarliest of hangovers). Now, he does his best to maintain an extremely healthy diet when in the comfort of his own home. Plus, Jenny’s never the one to object against a home-cooked meal. It’s barely enough to raise a brow, but it leaves him content to, for lack of a better word, pig out, when the situation calls for it: whether it’s one of the many community barbecues or bake sales the town holds, or a pint of beer with the boys at the end of a long day. He still runs every morning and makes it a point to go for a swim every so often. Sometimes there’s a temptation to unravel, but it’s easily suppressed with a brief thought that flits toward Elvis and his untimely death on the toilet, or his dear old classmate Perry who took off just because life got a bit too heavy. Coward. It was completely inappropriate. You really shouldn’t let those types of things bother you. Most of Zig’s relationships have been futile, but that’s not for the lack of trying. Or maybe, it’s precisely that. He puts effort into what’s worth it, and why should he be vilified for it? He doesn’t blame his partners when they eventually become complacent or needy, but he has no intention of sticking around when they do. Maybe it’s an inherent belief that people are stronger as individuals, but relationships aren’t like organ donations. He didn’t sign up to let someone else cradle his heart, he’s not here to build people up, even if he’s the one that tore them down. At it’s core, it’s a romantic notion, really, to let love do all the work, compromise barely mentioned in the Lehmann guide to relationships. He can’t tell if Jenny’s different, whether their arguments come from genuine care or his penchant for what he’d deem as emotionally-charged debates. And if so, he hasn’t tired of winning them yet. Face it, you peaked in high school. Still sore you never got asked to senior prom? To most, Zig grew up to be a fine, young man. A firm head on his shoulders and kind too, a man of the community first and foremost. He wants to be revered, he wants crowds at his funeral and enough tears to make flowers bloom. And though he’d like to believe it’s not a persona, it does take effort. And for a small handful of people in his graduating high school class, it’s transparent. While it should bring frustration, a mark of failure indicating that his crafted presentation of self is not infallible, it instead brings a trickle of relief. Around these people, Joe and Mike, Perry, hell even Mandy, there’s a certain liberation to say what’s on his mind, even if it’s blunt, even if it hurts. He skips the pleasantries with this lot, but is secretly grateful for the rapport he has with all of them. He’s also a pretty stark atheist, and they’re the only people who have the privilege of hearing how God’s nothing more than a weak coping mechanism. To everyone else, he stays silent on the matter but thank god for baby blue eyes that make him look like he’s interested in attending a Sunday sermon on loving thy neighbour without every having to say so.

Welcome to Behind The Magic, Tasha. We really loved your app for Leda Montgomery  with the FC of Lily Collins and we can’t wait to see what you do with her! Please look at our checklist and send in your account within 24 hours. We’re excited to see more of you here at Behind The Magic!
CHARACTER INFORMATION
Name:
Leda Montgomery
Faceclaim:
Lily Collins
Age:
24
Birthday:
September 4th
Species
Werewolf
TV Show & Occupation:
Craft Services on all shows
Biography:
Leda Montgomery is the daughter of a very success escort and werewolf. She never found out who her father was, but she never cared to either, Leda and her mother were a team and they were all the other needed in life. Leda’s mother was always making sure her daughter had a positive look on who she was and how women should never be shamed for doing what makes them happy. Leda’s childhood was perfect, in her books.
She was a party girl as a teenager, always going out and finding a guy or girl to have a fun night with and never call again. During a time of a particular dry spell, she went out and crashed a party where she knew no one. She didn’t expect much, but when she arrived she met a guy named Mark who was different. They hit it off, slept together, then never saw each other again. Unfortunately, Leda never got his last name, so tracking him down when she found out she was pregnant became impossible.
She never cared what people at her high school said about her being a teen mom, she and her mother would raise the child and have a happy home anyways. Eventually she gave birth to her daughter, Helen, and she couldn’t have loved anything more. Soon after, Leda and her mother met Cass, who they suspected of being a werewolf, and welcomed her into their family. Once the full moon passed, they wanted to help Cass with her transformation, but they were heartbroken when Cass ran away.
Years later, Leda heard of some good jobs for supernaturals in Vancouver. She wanted to give Helen the most open and accepting childhood, so she planned to move to Vancouver after securing a job with craft services. It was then that she ran into Cass again and told her everything, about them all being werewolves. She convinced Cass to come with her and the three went to Vancouver together.
Anything Else:
She isn’t in a pack yet!

26 prudy
Tumblr media
26. What is something that will never fail to get them horny?
I mean-- other than being one of the horniest characters I have. >.> There are a few specifics.
1. Praise of any kind. Be it a 'Good girl' or 'That's my girl', even in a completely innocent context, she feels it in places. 2. Dancing close. It's just a little scandalous, then combined with the scent of cologne, breathing on necks and hmmmmmmmmmmmmm (bonus points to Bay Rum cologne, know'm'sayin?)
3. Kissing, lips touched/brushed, fingers in the mouth, etc. Her lips are a major erogenous zone and so she enjoys anything that allows them to be touched.

🪡 sally and prudy
Tumblr media
(I let them smile in their pics... just this once. Lol.)
Prudence was obviously nervous to meet Sally one day, but after hearing years worth of stories about her from John, she almost felt as though she already knew her. She knew her likes and dislikes, her routine, her habits, etc, before even knowing the sound of her voice.
Sally was crucial to adjusting Prudence to life in the wilderness. She made her feel comfortable, but wouldn't over-shelter her from this new life. Those born into it have a chance, but the exiled rarely survive, and Prudence needed and appreciated the help. She is also possibly the only person whose advice she never doubts. If Sally says 'hide here', Prudence says 'Yup'.
Prudence thinks Sally is incredibly impressive and all-in-all just a good woman. She tells her that she wants to ve 'half the mother she is, one day', which nearly makes Sally cry.
Sometimes having Sally around makes Prudence miss Della (her own mother), but the two are pretty different, so this passes.
--
Sally absolutely adores Prudence. Though at first she was deeply concerned about her son's relationship with Prudy, she saw how happy and dedicated he became, and how he even became more cautious in everyday life since getting close to her.
As she couldn't go into the city to meet her, Sally had John (and even the other two) tell her lots about the girl, to the point where when Prudence showed up at their doorwa, rather scuffed up, Sally immediately called her by her name, despite only ever hearing descriptions of her face.
All her doubts faded soon after, for she was able to see first-hand that this girl clearly loved Sally's son.
In the wilderness, Sally is terrified for Prudence's safety. When John tells Sally that he 'Has to marry her", Sally answers "Of course you do. You gotta take care of that sweet girl."
They spend a good amount of time together, with Sally teaching Prudence a lot of basic household skills, and her adoration is apparent, with Sally regularly calling her "Honey," and "Dear". She thanks her for making her son happy and even for 'joining the family'.
All-in-all, they're very close.

🪡 prudy and martha
Tumblr media
Initially, Martha intimidated Prudence more than the other scavengers who'd visit the Gal. The others would settle in after their jobs were done, drink, laugh and be human. Martha? Martha wouldn't stick around. Once business was through, she'd disappear, not allowing anyone a glimpse of that humanity. This made her foreign, unknowable, more unsettling.
However, as she bonded with John, she started to see Martha more and more, interacting once every few visits. Plus, John attested to Martha's caring heart and curious nature, and Prudence trusted in that and let the intimidation wear off.
The circumstances that had them interacting regularly, Prudence did her best to befriend Martha at an easy pace, trying to get a laugh out of her.
Prudence would once say to her "You have brothers...I may never see my sisters again. I was hoping we might be sisters to each-other, given the circumstances."
--
Understandably, Martha thought little of Prudence in the beginning. She thought the girl's profession amusing, but figured she was little more than an exciting little thing that caught her baby brother's interest.
When she did have an opinion, it wasn't great. She watched John become enamored with Prudence over time, and didn't like the way he pushed away any talk of the future for their seemingly doomed romance. She'd laugh and tease John for his fling just like everyone else, but deep down it worried her.
After Prudence came to live with them, Martha opened up much faster. It helped that Prudence was hilarious, and helped her play jokes on the boys. Despite her initial hardness, Martha took little time to accept Prudence into the family, and in a few scenes the girls are even seen comforting one-another.

🕷 prudy
Tumblr media
🕷 the web - what would your character least like to be forced or tricked into doing? What would it take to get then to do it?
That's tricky. Prudence's pride survives on her body autonomy, free will and refusal to be controlled. There are so many things she'd hate being forced to do, simply because she'd been forced. She was already given little choices growing up, she'd study what she was told to, speak when told to and be silent when told to, almost entirely suppressing her goofy, outgoing nature. She had little choice when married off to a childhood friend she had no interest in. Even their separation wasn't her doing, but merely an act of mercy. The first time in her life that Prudy belonged to herself was the moment she became a performer. Despite it alienating her from her loved ones, she could dress how she wanted, she could dance, cuss, drink, fuck, feel how she wanted and love who she wanted-- and only if she wanted to. So really, anything that took those choices from her would break her spirit. The biggest ones would be forcing her to lose or harm either her second family at the club, or lose or harm John, all of these people are not only dear, but represent her liberation, and the only people to meet and love Prudence's true self. Ergo, the only way she'd do such a thing is potentially to protect them or another from a worse fate, or if physically forced. But, as I said, this would absolutely break her. The few she's been able to love, she's done so fiercely.

😨 FEARFUL - prudy
Tumblr media
😨 FEARFUL - when scared, do they go into "flight" or "fight"?
The missing third option; freeze. Especially being that she's the character with the least experience with genuine threats, she tends to freeze right up. On the outside, this can be beneficial or detrimental, depending on the scenario, but she's had to be protected or pulled away from danger a number of times.
However, I can point to a particular time when another character makes an attempt on her life inside the city and despite being paralyzed while she figured out what was happening, she was eventually able to fight her attacker off with a pin and get away, suggesting that she can fight and run after buffering for a moment.
I wanna see some scenarios in which she doesn't have the time to process, and see what she ultimately does.
