Ended up having to check the sheep twenty minutes before a progress meeting with my geology teacher, but was well worth it to see all the mist and dew on the ground. We’ve had such beautiful October mornings recently!

This is Chewie, my ram lamb. He’s a descendant of Val, the sheep I was given for my tenth birthday, and he has earned his name of Chewbacca from being big and hairy as a young lamb. He’s very friendly and will come up to say hello and get cheek rubs. He does unfortunately have horns, which means we won’t be able to keep him as he gets older and more aggressive (because they do - Dutch the big ram used to be an absolute sweetheart and now he is very much the Macho Sheep of Aggressive Testosterone).
Chewie and Casserole (the lamb we bottlefed during the winter) seem to be good friends and can often be found exploring the hedgerows with each other and trying to eat the unripe apples from low branches of the orchard trees. I saw them do that, and I don’t think they thought much of them.

Some interesting finds today! We were cleaning off the combine this morning and all the grain dust caught in these cobwebs that were on this rusted machine by the barn. I also found a little deer print in the mud by the wheat. Isn’t it small! My finger is in it for scale.
