I have seen a lot of comparisons of F1merch vs F2 and the difference is astonishing, F1 shows love F2 show, i dont know, elsa and anna are always in boring poses, angry, no love, so i was thinking, is possible that the separation was made because disney wants to dissapear the lesbian incest undertones? i mean if you only see the merch but not the movie you would think is a lesbian love story. im not talking about heteronormative because you dont find F2 kristanna merch, just take out the incest

My answer in short would be: no, absolutely.

Now, in details...The graphic of Frozen 2 is more mature, and it’s what they wanted. No more sisters holding each other in pink and blue scenarios, but high trees, fall colors, and considering the theme of the movie (mourning) the pics of the sisters can’t be of happy moments.

Merch is made with promotional pics, they don’t take screencaps of scenes and make official Disney tshirts of the bed scene, for exemple. Promotional pics are the ones we know:

1) travel clothes, sisters looking at the horizon. They are made to express a call for adventure, not sisterly love.

2) The ones with the finale clothes, where they are separated, So.....you can’t get nice pics of them together on merch.

Even like this, and despite these promo pics, Disney managed to make merch with the 2 of them together using the only pic (not spoilery) they could use: the one where they look at each other. The sad one.

It’s the theme of the movie, anon. With mourning, separation, what do you expect?

Look at the Frozen Fever and OFA merch, and you’ll find the sisters happy and together. But F2...ew.

So no, it’s not anti-elsanna, it’s sad and cold and mature merch/pics. It’s what they wanted for this movie. And what I never liked.

BTW: a friend animator told me time ago that the animators/writers know about all our crazy ships, of all movies, and the first thing they do when they join a project or a franchise is look for the porn. lol Cause they’re adults and it’s fun.

So I’m pretty sure they all googled all kind of frozen porn and I’m sure no one was scandalized by elsanna.
