Plucking the menu from his hand, she answered, “How could I possibly forget? Always stinkin’ up the place with yer cheese ‘n ‘chovies! Two brodfesks and six pints of hard Folkvaran slosh, comin’ right up.”

Glenvar smiled and sighed, “Ah, it’s like I never left…”

Passing her menu forward, Alaine ordered, “I’ll have the whale steak and a berry cocktail.”

“Just a greenplate and a cup of cinnamon tea for me,” said Jeimos.

“Chocolate icecream, please!” said Isaac, but Evan quickly protested,

“No icecream until you finish your dinner! He’ll actually have a tuna sandwich. As for me, I’d like a double-stack of buttercakes, extra syrup and butter on that, three mutton burgers and a side of potatoes—don’t be shy with the gravy—four slices of jelly toast with a cup of extra berries, ten buttered pickles, a couple slices of fudge cake, and a pint of beer. Thank you.”

Idda shot him a strange, slightly frightened look as she took his menu from him. “Er…that’s for the whole table, right?” she queried.

“Please, don’t shame the man for his appetite. He has a, uh…medical condition,” Lukas answered carefully, still scanning his menu. “I guess I’ll have jelly toast and a coffee. What kind of jelly do you have?”

“Your choice of cranberry, blueberry, zestberry, or we can substitute jelly for pitter cheese if you want,” answered Idda.

Lukas asked, “Pitter cheese? What’s that?”

“Some imported stuff from Mogdir Kingdom,” she explained. “They have these giant caterpillars down there that they melt down in a pot, then they ferment the goo in a sheep’s stomach and—”

“Nevermind, forget I asked!” Lukas shuddered, surrendering the menu. “Cranberry is fine…”

Because @hexburn asked, I decided to compile some of my favorite moments of 2020 DRX, that is actually mostly their botlane but it'll be for obvious reasons after you look through the post lmao. Enjoy !

Starting off with my absolutely favorite image of all time...

I don't know the full story of this honestly. And I wish I had taken a full screenshot of it when I first saw the picture, but this is from the promotional images for the DRX merch back in 2020 that was on their site. Deft was the one that wore these shoes lmao. I'm not sure if Keria actually wrote it or it's actually Keria's own shoes, although I would love to believe that Keria vandalized Deft's shoes just for the hell of it.

The kids saying that they looked up to Deft and practically idolized only to realize...he's just some guy, and then Deft going "I'm to fucking old for this shit" which like...fair honestly.

The kids committing war crimes towards Deft like the little shits they are, once again he's too old for this shit.

Keria deciding that visiting his hyung is more important than resting (me too Keria)

Whatever tf this video is, Deft forgetting to charge his mouse and it dying while the enemy pushes base and Doran + Keria yelling at him for not charging it and getting mad it him. Also remember how I said DRX idolized Deft as in past tense...well I feel like Keria still did and does because my god was/is that kid infatuated with him, my god.

Yeah Keria...why do you want him to live with you 🤨

I would like take some time to mention that everyone in 2020 DRX are literally compared to cats, besides Pyosik he's Golden Retriever coded imo. If you also dive a little bit into Chovy's fandom, they compare him to Skitty which is absolutely true ! Yes ! ! !

The Spring Split into Summer Split break, they had a uhh...3 (? ? ?) give or take, day stream which was just Deft streaming lmao. During it we had multiple gems such as; the boys + Deft comparing Pyosik to Trundle, Keria and Deft straight up embarrassing Doran by watching his videos of previous streams where he would be singing, and in turn the kids making fun of Deft by watching his old videos, them trying to play the silence game (hence the paper bag over Keria's head), and other things they did.

This absolutely devastating thread of Pyosik's stream...I just...there's nothing much I can say then thank god he has Deft this year after a horrible 2021 Season. You can genuinely see the adoration in his eyes when he looks at Deft and it's so AAAHHH.

There's a lot of pics of these five guys that I absolutely adore so have some of them.

These three images of Keria and Deft after they won that game vs GenG for the Summer Split semis where they had a fucking 4 hr pause and they had to practically reverse sweep them, surprise surprise these are tears of happiness because they won ! I remember only getting like...3 hrs of sleep because the LPL regionals was also going on at the same time and it was iG vs LGD and lmao, I, a whole LGD fan in the year 2020 (+ 2022...), anyways absolutely had the most insane morning that day, god...

Anyways, this team genuinely cared for each other and loved each other (still do !) I firmly believe that the reason they did was because of Deft ! And listen, I don't really like to psychoanalyze random men on the internet but hear me out. I genuinely believe that Deft really cared for them because he saw himself in them. Deft was the youngest in SSB/MVP Blue which was practically his first team. Some of these kid's first team was DRX, those being Keria and Pyosik ! Now who was the closest to Deft ? Keria and Pyosik, do you see where I'm going here.

Keria and Pyosik looked up to Deft and you can genuinely see it by the way they interact with him and the way they look at them. Those two have gone through so much and Deft basically encouraged them into continuing. One of the things Pyosik said that Deft told him (as well as the rest of 2022 DRX) is that a win is a win no matter how poorly you play, no matter how you view the way you play, it's a win. And I genuinely think this is just so...

Idk, Deft seemed to have so much respect from these boys. I genuinely can see it with how Chovy stayed to play with him in HLE, how Pyosik looks at him, how Keria reminiscence his time in DRX, how Doran jokes with him.

I like to joke around and say that 2020 DRX was straight up just Deft and his kids, and it's true.

Why I M O, Pokeshipping is dead. ( kinda hot take, sorry pokeshippers. )

Now as to what your here for, what killed pokeshipping. There are 3 main contributors to the death of pokeshipping.

1.) The length of time from when misty was replaced to now,

2.) Serena and Amourshipping

3.) The Pokémon sun and moon anime

The length of time from when misty was replaced to now. Now while this might not have been much of an issue if the other 2 bullet points didn’t exist, it has been over a decade at this point, since we last saw misty, meaning that we have a severe lack in character development, and that gives time for other potentially better ships to be created, which leads me to my next point,

Serena and Amourshipping. Possibly one of the biggest ships right now, (which at this point isn’t going to fizzle out anytime soon. ) With Amourshipping going so far, as to introduce a major plot point in ash’s story by having Serena be his childhood acquaintance, many other points that multiple poketubers like Catch ‘Em All Saul, bring up in their videos from years past, to the kiss, and even the writers basically confirming the darn thing.

So at this point, ( unless they throw all that away, which please. Don’t. ) there is next to no hope of pokeshipping to ever become cannon, which is only further proven by my last point,

The Pokémon sun and moon anime. Now, this is honestly the iceberg that sank the ship, because Brock and Misty returned twice in the Sun and Moon anime, which I’m pretty sure was for let’s go promotion. Now this is where all hope is lost for pokeshipping because even though they returned twice, Misty had literally zero emotional moments with ash whatsoever. No pokeshipping pandering, no flashbacks, nothing. Here’s another video explaining that further.

Now while the only good thing to come out of the re-return episodes was Brock possibly finally finding a girlfriend,

Brock x Olivia

This was the point of no return for Misty and pokeshipping in general. Misty, even though she returned twice, in the most recent anime, had literally no development, and nothing to show how she grew as a character since her absence, her return seems pointless and devoid of substance, and with another ship still gaining popularity at an exponential rate, I’m sorry pokeshippers, but,

It’s time to pay your respects, and move on.

The Cory in the House anime. Now, this is honestly the iceberg that failed to sink the titanic of ships, because Cory returned twice on television, which I’m pretty sure was for disney promotion. Now this is where all hope was restored for pokeshipping because even though he returned twice, Cory had literally zero emotional moments with ash whatsoever. This is because Cory is a wholesome anime protagonist who understands that ash and Misty belong together. Here’s another video explaining that further.

Cory x Meena

This was the point of no return for Misty and pokeshipping in general. Misty, after returning twice, in the most recent anime, continued to have feelings for ash because Cory didn’t try to take pokeshipping away because he has a crush on Meena, and wanted ash and Misty to be canon. I’m sorry, andrewsshippers, but.

It’s time to pay respects to the Miyabi Akasaka gods, and move on.

The 2023 World Championship is set to kick off on October 10th, marking the most significant event of the year on League of Legends' calendar. Pasta Burro e Alici (Pasta With Creamy Anchovy-Butter Sauce)

Think of this dish as Alfredo for anchovy lovers. There's lots of unsalted butter, salty anchovies in place of Alfredo's Parmesan cheese, and starchy cooking water cooked into a creamy glaze, perfect for coating long strands of al dente pasta. For the true 'chovy heads—the ones who love being gifted stocking-stuffer tins of Cantabrian conservas—you can call it a day right there, and bask in unadulterated salty fish bliss. I like to add a hint of acidity to the dish with a squeeze of lemon juice and a pinch of finely grated zest. A showering of toasted breadcrumbs and chopped parsley lends the dish crunch and freshness to balance the richness of the butter and the savory punch of the anchovies.

The cooking process itself is a breeze. Melt butter, dissolve anchovies in it, then cook pasta a little over halfway in a small amount of water to get that extra starchy good stuff. Build an emulsion with pasta cooking water and the anchovy-butter, then finish cooking the pasta in the sauce. To ensure that the sauce holds the perfect creamy emulsion, I save a couple tablespoons of butter to add off-heat at the very end of the cooking process, followed by the lemon zest and juice.
