Job: Magitek Commando (Tank)

Weapons: Shou wields an axe constructed of Hawkmoth’s exodermis into battle. Some abilities also involve a segmented sword-whip extended from her free hand, which doubles as a magical focus for her ranged abilities.

AI Behavior: Shou’s a “Magitek Commando”, which functions as a highly mobile tank, with all the essentials of a Shadowbringers tank kit (3-part single target combo, 2-part cleave combo, gap closer, stun, silence, highly damaging but resource-dependent OGCD abilities, mitigation, party buffs). Her combat animations feature her strafing around, under, and through the enemy like a Ninja on PCP (though her hitbox remains steady where she was, so the enemy’s facing doesn’t change). She eagerly uses gap-closers to resolve threat problems. but her FAVORITE thing to do, however, is dashing over to interrupt casters and then use her disengage ability to return to the scrum of other foes.

Shou tends to build up power with radial AoE before picking a foe and going completely JOHN FUCKING MADDEN with explosive abilities drawn from the Warrior, Thaumaturge and Gunbreaker pools-- loads of shotgunlike bursts of aetherial fire, lightning, and ice. She’ll target foes with a mischievous looking cat marker, applying the debuff ”Firing Solution”, which causes a detonation of aetherial flame when the foe suffers a direct crit from any source as well as denoting her primary target. Many of her abilities cleave or otherwise damage surrounding foes, creating puddles of aetheric napalm, tentacles of liquid metal chaining from foe-to-foe, or just whooshy-whooshy cleavey-trails of light and dark.

Differentiating her from conventional tank classes, Shou knows a reskin of Rescue, “Recuse” (appearing like a Mortal Kombat chain-yank), and “Death Defy”, an Elusive Jump clone which also roots her target for 3 seconds. Shou never Rescues players unless it’s a lethal mechanic, but will wrangle other NPCs out of AoEs.

Ultimatum

[I wrote a random drabble about Morgan and tbh, I think I might continue this and make this a miniseries thingy? idk. Anyway here’s Wonderwall]

Upon Alex’s ultimatum, Morgan’s mind - was it truly their mind? - raced. They felt… what did they feel? None of what had happened over the past hours was real, only a simulation of altered memories from their body’s previous life, so were the things they felt real or just another simulation of life?

As Alex waited impatiently, Morgan struggled to grasp for some sort of identity that wasn’t defined by their implanted memories - did the simulated Morgan even look like the original Morgan before he died or was that another illusion given to them by their creators? They wanted to speak, but their typhon body made speech next to impossible.

Something about the situation drew up memories of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein and at the thought, Morgan almost laughed, but all that came out was a gruff croaking sound. “Morgan,”Alex prompted, holding his hand closer and looking a bit concerned. The hovering operators all seemed to be staring at Morgan with their all-seeing black orbs, but none of them spoke or moved, save the gentle undulations in their hovering.

Am I Morgan Yu or am I someone - something - else? Do I belong with these people? I’ve passed their tests thus far, but what of what will come , Morgan’s thoughts continued to race and their glowing lavender eyes flickered imperceptibly from one operator to the next, and finally to Alex and his trusting, outstretched hand. Something about it brought up a feeling . Not quite empathy , but not quite nothing either. Perhaps Morgan could find a way to live with these people and perhaps not. The only way to know was to try.

As they reached out a jet black limb to touch Alex’s hand, the viscous typhon exodermis retreated underneath their skin and Alex clasped their hand with moisture forming in the corners of his eyes. “I knew you’d make the right choice, Morgan,” he stated, voice thick with unexpressed emotion, “It’ll be you and me, brother, just like old times.”

For some reason Morgan found himself unable to return the sentiment.

Slapped Cheek Disease - Dr Kirthi Vidyasagar

Slapped cheek disease is a mild, self-limiting viral illness that is caused by the parvovirus B19. It affects children primarily and can, not so commonly affect teens and adults also. Now, once infected with the virus, the person develops antibodies, giving a lifetime immunity, where the child cannot get this illness again. In terms of symptoms, some kids may have no symptoms at all, when infected with this virus. Others may present with a mild illness like cough and runny nose, a fever or a headache. The symptoms will last for a few days only, without causing much discomfort to the child. Now, one to two weeks after these initial symptoms have subsided, a typical rash can appear. Now, when the rash appears, the child has no fever and is not contagious anymore. These rashes appear first on both the cheeks. They are bright and red, large patches that is warm to touch. This is a classic slapped cheek appearance. The following day, the rash can spread to the exodermis where the rash is lacey in pattern. In the next day or so, the rash can spread to the buttocks and to the trunk. The rashes can resolve in 3-7 days or it can appear or disappear over 1-3 weeks where exposure to sunlight or heat can exacerbate this rash. This illness is diagnosed clinically by your doctor when the characteristic rash appears. There is no treatment required as it is viral and usually gets better on its own. Paracetamol can be given during the fever. Now, it is usually a bodine infection in an otherwise healthy child. In can pose a problem for some children who have underlying medical conditions such as, certain types of hereditary anemia, where this infection can make the anemia far worse. If they have a compromised immune system, like HIV or cancer, or they are undergoing chemotherapy. Here, the infection can be severe and lead to serious complications. Now, pregnant women who have not had this infection before, can be in trouble as it puts them at risk for miscarriage or defects in the unborn child, when exposed to an infected person.

Technically speaking Hawk’s more a part of Shou’s anatomy than her inventory at this point, being fused to her as a result of a series of ubiquitous events too messy to recount here.

I’m gonna split him into multiple parts for readability, since he’s essentially the equivalent of a full suite of magic items.

Hawkmoth’s Exodermis: Hawkmoth’s exodermis is a layer of black, leathery synthetic skin and muscle that’s fused at certain points to Shou’s anatomy, supplemented by detachable plating, retractable/deployable splints and homeostatic function. It’s embedded into Shou’s body around major arteries, not only protecting them from rupture in a fight but also using her blood as an aetheroconductor to power Hawkmoth’s external functions.

It’s distinguishable easily from normal black leather by its close resemblance to living hide, right down to warmth and moisture: it literally is a second skin. Hell, it even bleeds, albeit it clots in moments and can regenerate from Shou’s own Aether at a speed that’s highly unnerving.

As stated above, Shou can take some of it off, but other pieces are fused to her skin in places where the skin hasn’t sealed up yet, giving her a chimeric, mottled appearance.

13. Under what circumstances would your OC appear naked in public?:

It’s complicated, since Shou’s cybrid augmentation means Hawkmoth can kinda extrude ‘clothes’ in the form of this gross black exodermis that covers her bits. It resembles clothing well enough that she won’t offend anyone’s propriety, but Shou is fond of fucking with uptight people by explaining that she’s basically naked.

Growing up in a crowded home and then coming of age in a mercenary band, she’s seen a full and diverse spectrum of bare asses and doesn’t find much inherently arousing in nudity, but she does recognize that it’s really funny.

If you really wanna see Shou nakey, pour a couple shots in her and shout “STREAKING!”
