Welcome to my whump blog!

Most of what I do here is reblogging and idle musings, but I do sometimes write and draw my own whump, all of it OC-focused. Here’s a small guide to my stuff if you’re interested:

I mainly write magical realism/urban fantasy, with some horror vibes coming from my love of all things eldritch. I like environmental whump, knives and guns, defiant whumpees, reluctant caretakers, and weird fucked up monsters that give me an excuse to come with unique ways to hurt my characters.

Ghost Ambulance

My main OCs! Three ghost hunters of varying degrees of skill and enthusiasm who try to survive the paranormal chaos that London has in store for anyone unwise enough to look closer. The main whumpee is Cutter, an incurably optimistic investigator slash conman; but a fair share of misfortunes also befalls the professional huntress Elaine, whose troubled past makes her the perfect target of emotional whump. Joy, the normie dragged into all this by unlucky circumstance, is too smart to get hurt. Most of the time.

Kintsugi

A project in the making, I’d like it to be long, consistent and chronological, but I also know how I work so my planning is cautious. Best read in the order below.

The story of Ethan, a meteorologist who discovers a base of a secret organization hidden on a remote island off the coast of Alaska. Mistaken for a spy, he’s captured and tortured for information that he doesn’t have - but internal tensions rise between his interrogators as guard Lucy, an ex-gangster, is wrestling with the conscience she doesn’t want to have. Above all that looms the incomprehensible threat of the strange anomaly that the organization is trying to study.

Project 3 (old)

Doesn’t even have a name. But it sure does have lore! Set in Victorian times, it follows the mystery of a mansion that seems to defy death. Felix Lawrence is drawn to it by a series of increasingly mystical riddles and his curiosity leads him into the hands of the mansion’s nameless owner who intends to bring forth something eldritch. Felix becomes a subject for the man’s cruel experiments, not even allowed the reprieve of death as the mansion keeps him alive through all kinds of torture.

Project 4 (old)

No name on this one either and it’s all fairly old stuff. I came up with the OCs before I started this blog and unfortunately got bored of them just as I started realizing that there is, in fact, an audience out there for short stories that are literally just characters getting hurt lol.

It’s a fairly standard supernatural police procedural, kicking off when Arcane Practitioner (not wizard) Johnathan Claine (or Clay, didn’t even settle on a name lol) joins a paranormal taskforce whose Practitioner rank is rumoured to be cursed. That rumour soon proves true as Claine begins to brush with death on the daily and he and his team have to rush to break the curse before it throws at him something that he can't survive.
