Entry 7: Yours and your supervisors reflection on how you grew during the internship and studies.
To be able to improve and make changes personally and professionally, a supervisor and self reflections are important to grow. According to Soucek and Rupprecht (2020), the importance of supervisor feedback is increasing in such workplaces, as feedback is an essential job resource and a key driver of employee engagement. It is so important that an individual can handle and take on board constructive criticism to be able to succeed because if they can’t it will be hard to improve and move forward (Lindsay, 2017).

Personal reflection on Tennis Lab Internship
During my time with Tennis Lab I felt that it was easy to gage what was needed from me to help the company improve and grow but I needed to make sure that I was comfortable with the work I was producing and sometimes I wasn’t due to the uniqueness of content I had to create. Lyndon my supervisor was really helpful and understanding with the feedback he gave me when I did and didn’t ask for it. He knew my weaknesses were captions, so he gave me solutions on how I could make it easier for myself. If I needed any help with some ideas for content he would put a plan together he would trust me to make it my own and do what I thought was best. Having someone who can provide you insight and guidance makes it easier to reflect on yourself and how much you have grown.
With Max Events I was consistently asking for feedback and was given feedback by my peers. I wanted to learn as much as possible when interning with the company as I could see myself hopefully and potentially working there once I completed my internship with them. I felt I learnt pretty quick with the basics on running an event and the basics of sports presentation and I received a lot of positive feedback from my supervisor that my other co workers were going. With me asking the questions and showing interest showed them that I was keen to learn and invest my time into the company even when I wasn’t earning money and I think thats apart of the reason why they offered me a job with them. The biggest piece of advise I could give myself is to always put in 100% no matter what the situation is as you never know where it could land you.

2/25/2020
We started off the day with Nepali donuts and khajuri for breakfast. Khajuri <http://bossnepal.com/khajuri-nepali-cookies/> is a sweet greasy treat, really hard and crunchy. After breakfast, all of Matt’s crew convened in the normal meeting location, in the street right outside our hotel. We walked through town and to a seemingly infinite rock staircase leading down. It took us probably an hour of hiking down along the infinite stairs, and it was hot, and sweaty work, walking down all those stairs. We never actually reached the bottom of the stairs, and I have no idea how much further they went, but I’m pretty sure the stairs continue all the way into the next town, Bimalnagar. We stopped at the Siddha Cave, the largest cave in Nepal <https://goo.gl/maps/NLiKMm9nsW84keCWA>. We paid 200 rupees to get inside the cave, and Matt told the man collecting money that we didn’t want a guide. So we all ventured into the cave. There was a long ladder down a steep section or a rope; I chose to descend using the rope (which I think was the better option). We saw a Hindu shrine inside the cave, and some beautiful stalactites and stalagmites and columns. There were hidden areas that, without close inspection, appeared to end, but when we took a closer look, discovered that the cave opened up into a bigger area. We found a hidden shrine nestled in the rock. We entered a giant “cathedral” cavern where we couldn’t help but shout, “echo” and clap and make noises that reverberated for several seconds. We climbed up some steep cave walls, and once at the top, we decided to turn our headlamps off and experience the total darkness of the cave. We spent a long time without any light, maybe 15 or 20 minutes, just staring into the blackness. We decided it was time to head back out of the cave, so we turned our lights back on, and descended down the steep cave walls back to the bottom of the “cathedral” cavern. When we arrived at the bottom of the ladder and rope, I chose to take the ladder up (I still think the rope was the better option). The ladder felt a little unstable, and was held to the rock by old, sharp, rusty metal poles. There was a middle platform, which was equally old, sharp, and rusty, and as I shined light on it, I could see the light coming through the other side of the metal! So I didn’t really trust the platform to stand on. Everyone made it up (regardless of whether they chose the ladder or the rope) to the top, and we exited the cave. A few of Matt’s crew decided to continue down the stairs to the bottom to Bimalnagar and take a taxi back to Bandipur. The rest of us decided to hike back up the countless stone stairs all the way to the top in Bandipur. It took us about an hour plus a water break to get back to town. Sam and I walked with Bradley the whole way, and he is such a nice, compassionate, friendly, and considerate guy.
Back in Bandipur, we grabbed lunch and talked about Buddhist philosophies, EWOP, right versus wrong, judgement versus acceptance, and Bradley’s and Matt’s spirituality. Two ladies heard our conversation, and pulled up two chairs to sit and talk with us. Matt initiated them into the EWOP cult. After lunch, Matt, Bradley, Sam, and I grabbed our wings and head to the Bandipur launch.
The weather didn’t look good. There were some big cumulus clouds in the sky (not a good sign for paragliding), but they seemed to be far off to our left, and moving away from us. Upwind, the sky looked decent. The wind was consistent and smooth, and at a good speed for ridge soaring. Because of all the clouds, we were sure there weren’t going to be good thermals. Matt gave me a lesson on landing, since my two landings yesterday weren’t good. Bradley took off first, and he said conditions were smooth and ideal, so Sam and I launched soon after. We were in the sky, enjoying the nice smooth ridge soaring, and we all could have stayed up for probably 30 minutes longer. However, after about 15 minutes, Bradley said that he felt a drop of rain, and that we should all start to head towards the landing zone. We all three headed toward the landing zone while receiving a radio transmission from Ariel, saying that rain is coming and that we should land soon. We all landed in the landing zone with no issues. As we packed up our wings, a few droplets of rain fell onto our gliders, but we were able to pack up and call a taxi without the rain really starting. There were a few children in the LZ, and they came up to me asking for candy (they must have recognized me from the previous couple days, because they came straight to me, and ignored Sam and Bradley), so I handed out candy to them. After we packed up wings, I tried to call the taxi truck that had given us a ride from the LZ back to Bandipur the day before (out of the three of us in the LZ, I was the only one with a Nepal SIM card). For some reason, I couldn’t make the call go through. One of the girls said she’d help me, so she grabbed my phone, dialed the number of the taxi, and it worked! She even spoke with him in Nepali and communicated to him something to the effect of, “three silly American paragliders need a ride back into town.” She told us that the taxi driver is her brother. While we were waiting for the taxi to arrive, the same girl that helped us make the phone call asked me and Sam to do a dance with her. So the three of us did a dance, and she had her mom film it on her phone. It was so much fun! Everybody was laughing! The taxi arrived, we threw our bags in the back, and before we had a chance to get in, the rain started pouring. The taxi had come just in the nick of time, and we were thankful that we had decided to land when we did, otherwise our wings we have gotten SOAKED. We rode the taxi back up to town.
As we were walking back to our hotel, we bumped into those two girls from lunch, and Bradley invited them to join us for dinner. We had traditional Nepali dhal bat and milk tea for dinner, in the first floor of our hotel, which is a restaurant. We laughed about the adventures of the day, had some more philosophical discussions, and enjoyed each other’s company.

Nou pwofite okazyon sa pou n mande yo pote kole lan reparasyon legliz sen Nikola ki chita lan pawas Dimon. Aprè chak sezon lapli legliz la tounen yon paswa telman genyen dlo ki anvayi li. Se fidel yo ki toujou pote sekou pou netwayaj fet lan chapel la. Reparasyon twati legliz la dwe fet avan selebrasyon Sen Nikola lan koumansman mwa desanm lan e jiska prezan nou pako rive jwenn mwayen pou rasanble lajan estimasyon boss yo te bay.
