"why take the lead character of a television show and introduce an antagonist that she cannot defeat with the snap of their fingers.” then wtf are they supposed to do exactly?? they may as well regulate her back to her s2 role of doing nothing but cleaning up other people’s messes (which drr obviously didn’t enjoy) while everyone else gets the interesting antagonistic dynamics, if hope’s chr is not allowed to struggle/be beat by ANYTHING.

Just to explain where my head is regarding Legacies.
As you can probably see, I am not really writing as many Legacies x reader fanfics as I used to in the early seasons. And there are two explanations for that.
1. I have fallen out of love with the show.
The long hiatus didn’t help my feelings towards it and I know that’s not anybody’s fault but it affected my view on it nevertheless. The repetitiveness, the low-stakes, and the awful storyline of season 3 are so tiring and frustrating that I honestly got mad. About a TV show that I’m supposed to love.
And I know “if you hate it so much, don’t watch it” is a fair point but the reason why I stuck around for so long is that I know how good Legacies can be. Season 1 and some episodes of season 2 were so entertaining and fun to watch that I waited around in case I get at least 1 amazing episode a season. I was willing to endure 15 bad ones if I got at least 1.
I wanted to continue watching for the girls, Hope, Lizzie, and Josie because, at this point, I do not care about any of the other characters and I'm so sad about that.
Legacies is supposed to be about the legacies which are the three girls, not Landon. And speaking of which. My second reason.
2. Landon.
I didn't really care about Landon in s1, but I didn't hate him. He was just there as Hope's love interest and I was fine with it. The girls still took on the main character roles mostly, had storylines that didn't revolve around him (except for Hope but are we surprised?) but it wasn't this shove-down-your-throat kind of way now the writers are trying to make Landon be the main character. I didn't realize this while watching s1 but everything was already about Landon from the beginning. His father, Malivore wanted him back that's why monsters started coming to the school. Everybody wanted to protect him.
Imagine having the only tribrid in the Universe, daughter of one of the original vampires and the Queen of the Crescent Wolf Clan werewolf, and writing your show about a mud boy.
I'm sorry if you think otherwise but I am, personally, sick of it. I'm sick of Hope saying Landon's name over and over again, always thinking about Landon, obsessing over him, not having anything outside of that relationship. So basically according to the writers, Hope is not interesting enough to be her own person.
And to the people of Twitter claiming it is "toxic" to hate on Landon/Handon and "if you hate him so much, don't watch" can fuck off. It is normal and totally acceptable to hate a fictional character as long as you don't go after the actor who's playing that character. I can hate Landon or anybody else as much as I want and I don't have to have a reason but I do. I can give you so many reasons why I grew to hate him and I entirely blame the writers for having some weird kind of obsessing with him as well.
It is always the same thing. Landon feeling insecure, Hope reassures him. Monster. Landon is dead. Oops, no, he is alive. Handon fluff. Landon feels insecure and wants to be the Hero.
Nothing ever changes. It is always the same thing over and over again.
I know they are supposed to break up sometime soon but it honestly can't come sooner. They really need to change some things up before they lose even more people. There's a reason why S1 got on average 1 million views per episode and S3 got 0.7 at its best and 0.5 at its worst.
But despite all of that, I made a promise to myself that I would watch season 3 because I love the girls so much and I want to give the show one last chance. If it doesn't change drastically, I am not going to watch season 4.

Okay so first of all spoilers for The Originals Season 5 and Legacies Season 1 and 4.
So I was thinking about Hope and how she basically saves everybody all the time. She literslly sacrificed her life twice for the world to stop Malivore. She wants so badly to protect the people she lives that she never focuses on herself. She always tries to be strong for other people and almost never lets herself fall apart because, at least from what I can see, it feels like she thinks she has to be strong all the time. That she's ot allowed to be weak or have a moment of weakness and I just want to give her a hug. She's been through so much but she carries so much responsibility. The guilt of killing those vampires in the Originals as well as the person in the basement that triggered her Werewolf curse and then the death of her mother, father and uncle. And now the person she thought was a monster in Legacies and Landon, the boy she loves. Not to mention the pressure she puts on herself to be good (remember the points system she mentioned in The Originals about being worth her family's sacrifice?) and to save everyone no natter the cost to herself. She puts doing right by the Mikaelson name and her parents finding peace on herself. She puts the lives of everyone at the school on herself. She carries so much responsibility and guilt and pain. She went into Malivore to kerp everyone safe knowing nobody would even know she had done so and now she's died to become a tribrid and kill the boy ahe loves despite it being the last thing she wanted to do. She gives up so much. She tries to be the best she can all the time. Not to mention Alaric constantly bringing up her father which fuck that and having to read about how evil he is and hear people talk about it in the library. So I don't blame her for turning her humanity off. Because, lets not forget ahe just became a vampire at that point. She hasn't had the time to get used to the heightened emotions that come with that. So of course when she's forced to finslly reunite with Landon and then kill him after everything else that's happened to her it's going to be a lot. It makes perfect sense for her to do what she did. Because it isn't just because of Landon. It's because of a lifetime of pain and trauma and now this with newly heightened emotions. But she didn't choose to turn her emotions off. It was something that happened instinctively for lack of a better word. I honestly don't know if she would have chosen to do that. Because as much as she has the right to, she cares so much more about everybody else than she does herself. She wouldn't want to risk hurting others and would want to be there to protect them. So I personally believe she would want to but wouldn't solely to be there for her friends. She had such a big heart and whilst I understand why Lizzie and Josie have every right to hate her right now for what happened to Alaric, I really hope when her humanity comes back on she has people with her supporting her and helping her through it. Because she deserves that. Also can we just talk about the fact that they knew when she had killed Malivore but nobody came to find her and check on her. None of them cared. They were just acting like it was any other day. The only reason Alaric met Hope was because she asked him to meet. And that pisses me off so much. She just did in Josie's words the unthinkable and nobody was there for her. Yes her humanity was off so I guess it was too late anyway but they didn't know that. Anyway, rant over. I just feel so bad for her.

honestly I never knew lizzie was this hated. like, in some episodes she used to hang out with the witches (in the one when sebastian introduced himself to them it looked like she was the "alpha” with alyssa) and, i mean, she is the quarterback, everybody always helps her and, up till now, has been one of the heroes of the school since all that stuff with malivore. i mean, yeah, i thought maybe she had the regina george vibe, but definitely didn't thought people will be this extra in her funeral.

So, let me throw this into the universe and maybe they can get out of my head and into the world.
A MacGyver male OC that worked with Desi before and is hired to the time in a capacity kind of like that agent on Season 2, undercover work, dealing with people, accessing places, that kind of thing. He comes right after Desi and Angus break up because they are incompatible and get kind in the middle of the two because of the awkwardness. After a while, he starts to fall for Angus and keeps asking to be in the HQ until Desi confronts him and he tells how he feels. Parallel to this Mac is getting restless because OC isn't coming to the missions and when Rileu asks why it bothers him so much, he confess he may be feeling some new feelings, it can even tight up with the whole mac/jack situation that should definitely have happen. Anyway, OC thinks mac is straight and feels horrible because of Desi, Mac thinks OC isn't interested and he isn't sure what he is feeling, some angst, some miscommunication, some ill die for you in some mission, maybe even some Riley/Desi because is so much better then a love triangle. Faceclaim: idk. Name: Luke Holt
Legacies male OC creates as a result of a deal Hope makes with a magical spirit to defeat Malivore. The witch ghost says she'll have to give up being unique and therefore OC appears out of nowhere from her DNA, kind of a magical twin. She hates it and keeps telling everyone that she'll never see him as a brother, but everyone knows she lost so much family, she is just guarding himself. He, on the other hand, has no history, no nothing, just all the stuff hope knows with fighting and magic and stuff. Also, he is bi and both Rafael and josie get interested in him and they decided to be a ot3 because it's just the perfect setup. So monsters, teen romance, ot3, people brought together by ridiculous circumstances becoming family, some lizzie/oc one line sparring and both making fun of Landon. Faceclaim: Connor Jessup; Name: Nicolas Michaelson
A Marvel male OC that was in a Shield Academy during Winter Soldier and his school was attacked because of a technology he helped develop and Hydra started to kill his schoolmates until he unlocked the access codes. OC goes crazy and kills the agents until he is found covered in blood next to his schoolmates corpses. He goes into an institution until Steve takes him out to help track down Bucky and becomes his legal guardian (he is seventeen) and he goes through all the movies. He helps in age of Ultron, where we see some of the relationships with the other avengers, like Tony keeps saying he should work for him and he keeps saying no, asking natasha to teach some fighting things and Hawkeye wants to teach him archery and he is like 'I'm just trying to see if I can convince thor to take out his shirt' while Bruce is like 'it's late, you should be sleeping' and he is like 'you are a human disaster, shut up'.
Civil war goes super bad because he is all team cap and Tony keeps saying they should not be putting the kid in the middle of the thing, but he was almost murdered in a state controlled institution, so he is not ready to put the government in charge of superpowers. He has crazy tech glasses first (sorry for from home) and is not afraid to use it.
He goes to wakanda with bucky, but Tony negotiates a deal for him to go back to the States under his mentorship. He moves to the same building where Peter Parker lives and Peter had a big big crush on him. Tony asks OC to look after Peter, but he gets involved in the whole stolen tech thing and Tony gets mad. Steve gets mad. He yells lot.
This one is kind of a 'solo' movie where Oc goes work for a construction company and his boss is a villain that is about to be caught by the FBI for business mess and he finds a way to blame OC and his own daughter, Kate Bishop. So OC and Kate have to work together to get her father and they become best friends and partners and that goes on to influence his other stories (there was no Hawkeye show when I plotted this. I don't know what I'm gonna do about it). Peter shows up for a cameo on this, but it's more about OC and Bishop becoming partners in crime/superheroing. At the end, they find out that OC is inhuman and had the option to use the rock thing to get his powers. He destroys it because he says he doesn't need it.
Infinity war comes and both Bishop and OC are involved. they keep getting separated by stuff and trying to reach each other while OC gets involved with Tony, strange and Peter in space. At the end, he is not snapped, but Kate is and the movie ends with him losing his mind again and repeating not again because of how he lost his school friends before.
The inhumans believe that they develop the powers the community needs to survive, so endgame is a lot about OC wanting to get powers and Steve fearing it'll just make things worse. He is full uncle to Tony's daughter and helps natasha with keeping the avengers alive, but he is full on not okay and wants to do anything to bring everybody back. He helps with the time heist, but needs to unlock his powers to make it work. Nothing bad happens and he gets some mind and telekinesis powers (think some Jean grey kind of thing). At the end, although he uses his powers to help defeat thanos, it isn't the thing the saves the day and he wonders if that means something bad is still to come. He is super hurt that Steve left, but has to accept it. Maybe he meets Peggy during the time heist just to kind of come full circle. Anyway, no more OC/Peter because he is so much older now (from 2 to 7 years of difference).
He does show up in far from home, in the plane with Happy when Peter is lost in Europe. He helps and even pushes Peter/mj together.
Not sure about the plot for falcon and winter Soldier, but kind of wondering if with people not wanting Sam as cap, maybe try to use OC as caps son and he saying absolutely not. Maybe some OC/bucky if makes sense with what they are doing. Name: Leonard Knight
I'll post more if I remember more.
I also have a ton of seasons plotted for arrowverse Kyle if anyone wants to know .
