something that is both fascinating and bothers me to a certain extent is the prevalence of in group and out group language that many nationalities have. and it has less to do with the in group language and more to do with the out group naming

#turning off rbs bc i refuse to let this breach containment bc this website is stupid and i know people will not want to have any kind #of conversation that doesn’t consist of name calling and bill shit #*bullshit #bc i’m not singling anyone or any group out here #i just think it’s interesting and uncomfortable in many ways how it’s deemed necessary that an out group needs to have specific names #that can be said with vitriol at said other group #even the most basic bland example of romans calling other groups barbarians bc ‘their language just sounds like bar bar bar to us’#like yes or we could just call them other people #having a name to unite yourself or your group isn’t a bad thing #i just think you start treading into some Territory when you start calling other people names in any regard lmao #idk how else to put it and it’d be easier to explain talking than through text but #it just feels like it’s set up to cause unnecessary drama #talking
