I haven’t talked about TDP yet, but I’m always ready to spread the Monster gospel so I’ll do both :3

TDP:

Favorite Character: Tough call, but it’s Claudia atm. I rewatched some of her scenes recently and wow is she adorable.

Hated Character: Tie between Aanya and that asshole dragon (“which one,” you say; “yes,” I reply) with Opeli and Harrow as dishonorable mentions

Underrated Character: Viren T__T

Overrated Character: Look, if the narrative thinks they’re morally upright and/or cool and sexy enough to handwave bigotry, I probably think they’re overrated. Aaravos is also kinda overrated sorry

Favorite Ship: None

Hated Ship: Hmmm … Claudium. I almost never like Average Awkward Hero Guy x Hyper-Competent Hot Girl ships, and that plus the cursed potential that Callum would “save” Claudia from her “evil side,” is just … yeah, no thanks. Callum’s not a Nice Guy or anything, but he is boring, and Claudia deserves a love interest who’s more on her level. (I’m surprised I haven’t seen Claudia/OC ships floating around, actually, bc I think she’s got so much untapped potential for a great romantic subplot. The fact that Eh//asz allegedly pitched her a “fat joke” boyfriend character still haunts me)

Underrated Ship: Also Claudium, because I can’t make up my mind! As boring as Callum may be, Claudia actually brings out a more interesting and motivated side of him (to paraphrase Callum himself, she makes him see the world in a different way). Having a relationship with Claudia would actually force Callum to consider the dark/human side of the conflict, rather than just taking a couple of episodes and a fever dream to reject nuance entirely. Also, I think I just liked how casually, unabashedly flirty Claudia was whenever he showed interest in her — more like that, please.

Overrated Ship: Rayllum. Has story potential, but feels like a bit of a time-waster so far.

Monster:

Favorite Character: Tenma — yes, this a special case where actually I love the protagonist the most, even one surrounded by so many great, iconic characters :D

Hated Character: Roberto

Underrated Character: Eva Heinemann <3

Overrated Character: Dieter, I guess? I don’t dislike him, I just think he’s maybe involved in the plot too often.

Favorite Ship: None

Hated Ship: idk, I’m sure somebody ships Roberto/Eva

Underrated Ship: Gonna dip into Problematic™ territory and say Tenma/Anna. They have some sweet moments, just saying

Overrated Ship: I guess I’d say Grimmer/Tenma if you put a gun to my head ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I’m not super passionate about Monster ships, as you can probably tell.
