The ministers said in a joint statement that the decision constitutes an important step in enhancing energy security in the EU countries. According to the decision, the countries of the Union will work to fill the ground tanks in them to at least 80 percent of their capacity before the winter of (2022/2023) and to 90 percent before the following winter periods, provided that countries that do not have storage facilities have access to the gas reserves stored in other member states.
