Warnings: 18+ oral (m,f receiving)
“Elvis, can you come zip me up?” You begin to stare at your figure in the satin dress your fiancé had bought you earlier in the month. You had definitely had begun to fill out your clothes a lot easier. You sighed as you caressed your stomach and tried to suck in. He swatted at your hands and wrapped his arms around you. His chin resting softly on your shoulder.
“Mm, you look divine as always, love” he kissed you on the cheek softly.
“Hm, do I really? I thought I was lookin’ a bit-“
“Weren’t you just sayin’ the other day that bein’ big is beautiful, lil’ mama?” He slips his hands upon your shoulders, caressing you softly.
“I wasn’t thinking’ nothin’ like that, baby. I’m just gettin’ a little fuller in some places.” You sigh, he begins to softly massage your chest as you lean back against him. His eyes no longer meeting yours in the mirror, watching his fingers disappear into the bodice of your dress.
“Mm, but I like you lookin’ fuller,” he groans as you palm him from behind yourself,” baby, didn’t you say that-“ you turn around swiftly, slipping onto your knees. Your hands working deftly to release him from his tighter pants. His shocked expression making you giggle.
“Those papers don’t know what they’re talkin’ about. Your weight gain has made you even hotter, Elvis.” His eyes flutter shut as he feels the chill of your hand against the warmth of his cock. He bites his lip hoping to keep his groan in. He fails as you flick your tongue against the head of his cock. His hand coming to grasp your hair.
“B-baby, we’ll be late to the party. Holy-“ you ignore his ramblings and take a deep breath. Cutting him off as you take his whole cock. The tip tickling the back of your throat as you batted your lashes at him. Your name caught on his lips as he grasped your hair tighter in recognition. You pull back gasping, jerking his cock as he struggled to stand.
“How about you lay on top of me, darlin’?” He nods laying down on your shared bed. You lay on top of him and squeal as he spins your body so your face meets with his erection. You feel a heat rush upon your cheeks. His breath hot against your clothed mound. The party for whatever the hell it was, long forgotten.
“E-Elvis, what in the lord’s-“ a moan is ripped out of your throat as you feel Elvis push your panties to the side and rub your clit with his finger. He chuckles lowly as you grip his thighs tightly, your body shaking from the small bit of stimulation. You begin to wrap your hand around his dick as he teases your clit and you let a teasing lick to his tip. He hisses at the feeling. You breathlessly laugh as he grips the sheet next to you both in restraint. You wiggle your ass in teasing glory.
“Two can play this game, honey. I’m gonna worship this pussy all night long.” You shiver at his words and feel his breath warm your quivering pussy. His tongue is hot as it flicks your clit slowly. You lurch forward, whining out his name in ecstasy. He grips your ass pushing your pussy closer to his face as if he can’t get enough of your taste. You can’t concentrate as you finally wrap your lips around his cock, gripping his thighs just as harshly as before. You know both of you will have matching bruises by the morning. A particularly hard suck on your clit has you screaming, your hand rapidly moving on his cock as you try to catch your breath.
“E-Elvis, slow down. I don’t wanna come yet, baby.” Your eyes roll into the back of your head as your voice gets louder. Your moans driving Elvis to thrust his hips into your hand harder as he whimpered into your pussy.
“Oh lord, baby. I want you to cum so bad.” He moans into your folds and you cry out. Once again resting your head on his thigh. How has he never done this? His tongue was so fucking good. Your thoughts are interrupted as he tried to pull you impossibly closer to his face.
“E-Elvis, calm down, baby. I-I can’t- you’re too fucking good.” You whine as you spit out onto his cock to lubricate your wild movements on his cock. He pulls away for a moment to groan out deeply.
“You taste so fucking divine, baby,” he dives right back in as if it’s a sin to the lord to not be buried in your cunt,” ride my face, darlin’. Fuck my face.” Your eyes roll back as your pussy clenches at his words. God bless that this man is yours. You wrap your lips around the head of his dick and and hollow out your cheeks. You move your hips slowly and he all but growls into your dripping folds. He slaps your ass to make you move faster, your hips moving on their own accord as he stopped moving his tongue.
“P-Please, Elvis. More. I’ll do it. I’ll-“ Before you can finish the starved man is back on his feast in seconds. His tongue is thrashing against your clit while his hands grip at your ass to grind against his face. Your body begins to quiver as you moan against his length. You feel your orgasm drawing near as Elvis becomes more vocal mumbling into your pussy.
“Taste so fucking good.”
“That’s my girl.”
“Ride my face, Y/N. Just like that.”
“Suck my cock just like that, Darlin’.”
“I’m s-so close, Elvis.” You whine as you can feel the snap in your abdomen approaching. Your legs begin to shake around his head. He nods vigorously as he is too.
“F-Fuck, Y/N. I’m close too, baby. Please, cum on my face.” His begging turns you on as you start to grind yourself against his tongue and take him back into your mouth. You both begin to cry out in pleasure as your highs edge closer. Elvis continues to thrust in your mouth as he cries out. You roll off of him as he chuckles holding his hand to his forehead. His chest rising and falling harshly with each breath. Sweat rolling down the both of you.
“Holy fuck, E. Where did you learn that?” He smiles as he kisses you softly. You hum as he pulls you back to him.
“I did say I was gonna worship you.” He simply shrugged as he sat up and you followed suit.
“Please, worship me every night?” You batted your eyelashes as he bit his lip.
“I’ll worship you again, right now!” He presses kisses against your face and you giggle. His teeth scraping against your neck blissfully. You try to push him away, a pile of papers sitting on the edge of the bed falling in the process. You pick one up to see a headline, “Elvis’ Pelvis Slowed Down!”. Your hand covers your mouth in disgust, gasping.
“Baby, why wouldn’t you show me this?” You turn to see him anxious. You place a soft hand on his cheek.
“I-I didn’t want you to laugh at me like the whole world is, Y/N. I-I just wanted one person on my side.”
“ I am on your side! You ain’t slowin’ down! You’re as energetic as you’ve ever been on that stage! And clearly in bed! Just cause you got a few pounds don’t mean nothin’, Elvis!” You huffed as you read on and your heart broke in a million pieces.
‘When will his fiancé leave Presley now? When he loses his weight or he dies?’
“Baby, give me the paper.” Elvis tried to reach out for the god forsaken page in your hands.
“No! I’m tellin’ your daddy right now to call them bastards! This is shit and you know it! Probably that damn colonel tryin’ to make another mouthy move since we left!” You couldn’t contain your anger as you read on.
“Baby, please. I shouldn’t have even brought it in. I just wanna be with you right now.” You sigh and throw the paper, letting him lay on your chest.
“I’m sorry, Elvis. You shouldn’t have to deal with this. You know I’m tellin’ you the truth right? I love you inside and out. You are my handsome soon to be husband.” You kiss his forehead softly as he smiles holding you closer.
“I love you, my beautiful soon to be wife.” He kisses you and lays his head on your chest. You sit there in a few minutes of silence before you take one of his shirts and begin to change into it. He looks at you confused.
“What? I’m about to have an important call and have your daddy back me up!” He rolls his eyes as he watches you leave. You are determined to let these damn journalists get a piece of your mind!
“Lord, I can’t wait to marry her.”

Never Know How Much I Love You (Elvis 2022)
Tumblr media
Austin!Elvis x reader
Summary: Your friends tell you it’s now or never to lose yourself to the pleasure of a one night stand. Though, what would you do if that one might stand was newcomer, Elvis Presley?
Note: Thank you for 200 followers! Just wrote this small thing while college finals were killing my brain last week so I hope it makes sense and y’all like it! This is supposed to mimic desperation and naïveté in one night stands :)
Warnings: SMUT! Minors DNI!
“You’ve gotta be kiddin’ me, Kath! I can’t do that! I’d be embarassin’ myself in front of that Memphis boy if I did that!” You covered your face in mortification.
“Come on! You gotta admit y’all two had a real good connection on that stage! He was only lookin’ at ya! Ain’t that right, Patti?” Your older friend elbowed the love struck nerd in the side rather roughly. She wheezes out the air she was sobbing out earlier.
“Y-yes, Y/N. Go seduce that Presley boy so I can stare at the other talents.” She waved her manicured hand in the air as you rolled your eyes and huffed in defeat. What the hell were they thinking sending you to the hotel door step of THE rising star of the Louisiana Hayride?
“I gotta great idea! You can borrow some of my clothes! And Miss Dreams-a-Lot can do your makeup? Sound good? Good!” She stops you before you can even answer. You sip your milkshake in annoyance even if Kathy was buying. Why you out of this group? You all thought he was hot!
“Hey, you gotta live a little! Your parents ain’t gonna kill ya for havin’ a little fun! What do you thank they were doin’ at our age, purity!” You scoffed at the nickname and gulped the rest of your milkshake down.
“Fine! I’ll prove I ain’t no innocent little one time girl! Doll me up, chicks!”
————————
“I-I look so good. Holy smokes!” You pose in the mirror as the girls put the finishing touches on your seduction outfit of the night.
“You look like ya ready to snatch a man’s soul tonight!”
“Or his wallet.”
“Patti-“
“Sorry!” She raised her hands in defense as you twirled around. The dress was just tight enough that if your parents saw they’d keel over right that second.
“Y’all really think this is gonna work. That boy prolly has a type. And I don’t think this is it. “ you gesture to your whole body. Kathy pushes you and fixes a stray curl on the back of your hair.
“That boy has hundreds of girls falling at his feet. C’mon, it’s a worth a try. You may never get another chance! Also that lingerie underneath is too die for!” Kath places a gentle hand on your shoulder and gives you a soft smile.
“And hey, maybe he likes sleepin’ with the same girl. He seems like one of those innocent churchly types, ya know?” Patti fixes her lipstick and Kath elbows her again. Her lipstick going up her face. The two begin to bicker as you watch from your motel window. You watch as Elvis passes by. He’s unbuttoning his shirt and you bite your lip. The blue lace shirt looked ethereal on his skin in the pale moon light. You looked down at yourself once again and took a deep breath. You looked back at the pair and they continued to fight as you slipped out as quiet as you could. You watched as Elvis retreats into his room.
“Breathe, Y/N. We got this.” You smoothed your dress down to your body. You look through the small crack in his curtains. His shirt unbuttoned all the way and wincing on the phone. You could see the heart shaped paper on the rotary numbers. He has to be talking to his girl back home. What the hell were you thinking? God, he looks good though. All of your conscience is void as you wrap your knuckles to the door. The wood cold against your sweating hand. You begin to turn and try to forget you ever wanted to do this.
“Hey Scotty, I-“ his breath hitches as he notices your not his friend and band mate but something better. You smile up at him softly and walk in, dragging your hand along his bare chest as you pass.
“Hi, I’m Y/N. I’m sorry if this is too forward but-“ Elvis’ hands are on your waist in seconds as yours fall around his nape. He stares down at you, biting his lip. His eyes are beautiful in the dark room as you feel your legs threatening to give out from beneath you.
“You are one brave chick for walk-in’ in like ya did. I like that. You a fan?” You shake your head as he chuckles.
“I-I mean yes but I ain’t one of those ones that sits outside your door waitin’ for ya. Sometimes they mistake my room for yours! It’s somethin’ awful!” His eyes flicker from your mouth to your e/c orbs. You decide to say screw it and pull him down towards you.
“You talk a lot, doll.” He smiles and you flush. Your hand drags down his chest as his breath hitches. Your hands are cold against his warm embrace.
“Then shut me up, Elvis.” A growl rips from his throat and his lips are on yours in seconds. He’s clearly just as new as you are to this but it feels otherworldly. His hands can’t find a place to sit and grasp your body wherever he can reach. His tongue traces your bottom lip, a moan squeaks from your throat as his tongue delves into your mouth. You take his hand and place it on your chest. His hand pulls the top of your dress down and all but tears your bra.
“Fuck, you’re gorgeous, Y/N. Lord, bless me for you walkin’ your pretty little ass in here.” He bites his lip to stop from groaning. His lips and teeth attack your throat as he tries to calm himself down. Your neck and chest were wet and bruised as Elvis tried to clutch onto any sense of reason.
“E-Elvis, more. Please. Make me yours.” His hands are gripping your waist so hard you’re sure bruises will be the harshest reminder of what you’re getting yourself into. His eyes hardly leave your tits as he gulps audibly. His lips are hot and wet as he twirls his tongue around your budding nipple. A sharp gasp leaves your reddened lips. His grasp is harsh on your thighs as he spreads them apart.
“Look at you, baby. All this for me? You’re my pretty little play thing, right?” You nod desperately as you claw at his chest for any sort of touch. His lip caught between his teeth, a moan raring to leave his lips. He drags a finger up your dampened light blue panties. You whimper as he pulls them to the side. He blows his hot breath against your pussy, your voice caught in your throat. A smirk spreads across his face as he places a soft kiss to your begging clit.
“P-please. Elvis- AH” his mouth is on you before you can even get his name out from your mouth. His tongue is slow, teasing. His grip on your thighs are still harsh and commanding. Your grip on his hair makes him chuckle and the vibration sends you into a frenzy. He pulls away as quickly as he started and looks down at you. Unzipping his pants and pulling his cock out. Rubbing up and down your pussy. You grip his shoulders, the warmth of his body was the only thing left to ground your mind as you slowly delved into this sinful act.
“I’m sorry, mama. I need to feel you is that alright? We can sto-“ a growl is torn from his chest as you take his cock in your hand and push him inside slowly.
“You are so big, fuck. Shit, more please.” He nods and places his hands beside your head on the pillows.
“You look and f-feel divine. Lord, you are so fuckin’ hot.” His head falls between your neck and shoulder. His teeth scraping against your throat. Was he this possessive with all those girls at his door? Your nails are sharp on his back as he hisses at the feeling. His hips bucking tougher than before.
“More. Fuck me, Elvis!” You scrunch your eyes closed as his cock delves deeper inside you. You want to remember the feeling of Elvis inside you. Lord knows that this will be the first and only time you’ll have this sensation deep within you. Elvis is whimpering now as you tighten around him. No longer keeping his moans hidden as he loses himself.
“Fuck, I wanna- can I cum inside you?” Your hands are gripping the pillows beneath you as you nod. God, you didn’t want this night to be over but holy hell was this boy doing a number on you!
“I’m gonna cum!” The two of you are sweaty as Elvis lays on top of you. His cum drips out onto the hotel sheets and he apologizes while grabbing some towels. He grabs a satin shirt of his and helps you into it as he placed a soft kiss to your head.
“I-I don’t usually do that sorta thing, mama.” You smile.
“I don’t either.”
——————-
“YOU LEFT HIS HOTEL BEFORE HE WOKE UP? You’re kiddin’!” Kath all but screams as you enter the door way to y’all’s room. You pulled his shirt tighter to your body as she scanned you.
“Look at her, Kath! She’s covered in bites! She really did do it! Look at you, purity!” Patti comes up to hug you and you wince. Your shame was rising higher by the minute.
“You do know we’re followin’ him to the next show right?” Your jaw dropped.
“KATH! We are not! What in the sam hell do you think you are? You tell me to go do somethin’ and I did it!” The two girls sit you down and help you cover up the marks on your visible skin and obvious bags under your eyes. You sigh.
“At least this one tonight, Y/N? Maybe, he liked ya! And he’ll wanna see you more?” You rolled your eyes and looked at yourself in the mirror feeling a pity that sunk its claws within your features. It was dark last night there was no way he’d be into you. You weren’t anyone’s type.
“Let’s go. As long as y’all are gonna get me a milkshake after.” The pair hug you and rush to their suitcases for their clothes.
“Deal!”
————————
“Backstage?! C’mon girls. You have gotta be pullin’ my leg here!” Kathy takes your hand and you three sit on a bench in the back watching as Elvis performed. You’d never tire of seeing it as the electricity of his passion shot through your very being every time. Soon you find yourself thinking of last night. The way he gently caressed your body and then grasped it like you were going to disappear. His lips…how full and sweet they tasted. You drift off and tune back in when you hear familiar panting.
“Thanks, guys. Was that good? Is that wigglin’ thing really all that?” His band mates were handing him towels and water as he stood drenched in sweat. You turn to tell Patti you needed to go and that’s when you see the two had left you. You try to hide your face but it’s too late as you hear a light laugh coming from the boy.
“I-I- think the wigglin’ was just fine, Elvis.” Your voice is meek as he stalks closer to you. His hand curls underneath your chin.
“You’ve got a lot of bravery comin’ back to me a second time, lil’ birdie.” His eyes are dark and firmly on yours as you stutter a response.
“I-I’’m sorry I didn’t think you’d want me to stay-“ His lips and tongue are harsh as he covers your body with his. The heat of his body is dizzying as you grab onto his suit jacket with all your strength. His body isn’t close enough. His taste is addicting. The clothes on his body needed to be off.
“Who said you weren’t mine, lil’ birdie? Didn’t you say you wanted me to make you mine,” your eyes are glossed over as he pulls your chin to lessen the gap between you both. You gasp as he forced you to look at him, “Hm? Give me an answer, mama.” You nod as he gives you a stern look.
“Yes. Yes, Elvis.”
“That’s my good girl.”

Masterlist
“Where you goin’ so early?” You groaned as you looked up from the bed. The sheets were cold on one side now as Elvis was fully dressed above you. You let the satin sheets fall from your bare frame.
“I’m goin’ to a sermon real quick. I got some things to do and I’ll be back before you know it.” He lays a soft kiss upon your forehead as you continue to pout. His laugh is infectious as you try to not crack a smile.
“You can’t take me with? I can be good!” You cross your arms and he chuckles menacingly. He crawls over the top of you and licks a stripe up your neck and began to leave agonizingly slow bites along the column of your throat.
“Mm, because I’ll want to do this the whole time I’m in church. I don’t need the Lord to see how good you are on your knees worshipping me.” You flush and hide your face under the covers.
“Elvis!”
“What,” he sighs longingly,” I can’t let the world know that I’m dating you, yet. I-I gotta figure out the best way-“ you cut him off with a chaste kiss.
“I like the secrecy. Makes it that much hotter, daddy.” You pull at the choker around his neck and he coughs for a second.
“Darlin’, I need you to tone it down. I-I’m gonna be late,” he gives you a quick kiss to the forehead and slides the blanket over your body once more. You wave as he begins to leave. God, how did you get this lucky?
————————-
“So,” Emily starts,” you look debauched….thoroughly trashed.” She lifts your hair out of your face as she continues to curl it. You roll your eyes as you play with the skirt Elvis had picked out for you today.
“Hey, Em? Do you think I’m doing the right thing? Elvis,” Emily’s eyebrow cocked in question,”I mean, are we right? I mean I’ve never even been-“ Emily places her curling iron on the nightstand next to you. She slips her hands across your shoulder and shakes you lightly.
“He has how many girls throwin’ themselves at ‘im? And he buys you these cute clothes, necklaces with his name on ‘em, and even has asked you to move into Graceland! Wait,” she pauses her ramblings and fluffs the ends of your hair,” Did you ever give ‘im an answer?” You looked away from your best friend’s scalding gaze.
“I-I wanna b-but! I still live with my folks! How am I supposed to explain where I’m gonna live now! With THE Elvis?! The one they told me never to fall for? Lord, I’ve seen the papers, Em.” She sighs and takes your hands in hers. The bed bouncing as she situates her sitting position.
“Elvis chose you, Y/N. He’s older than you and by far has made a lot of mistakes. No one’s perfect, babes. And the stuff with his exes? Who cares! Their exes for a reason!” You sigh and fall back on the bed.
“Maybe you’re right. I-I’ll go see if Mr. Presley will take me to Elvis’ sermon.” She squeals and shakes her hips.
“Kinky.”
“EM!”
—————————————
“Amen. Thank you, Mister Presley for joining us today.” Elvis nods and shakes the father’s hand as the church filed out. He met with a few fans, taking pictures every so often.
“Hey there, EP. There’s a Miss L/N lookin’ for ya?” Elvis’ heart dropped and he began to walk to find you, little minx. He finds you talking to a few of the men in the church, his blood boiling as he sees you wearing the outfit he picked for you. His father began waving the men away.
“You won’t be findin’ no wife with her. She’s my future in law! Now back off, ya hear? You alright, missy?” You nod as you fan yourself. Not used to the attention from so many men that weren’t Elvis. You hear shoes click on the pavement as Vernon closes his car door. He excuses himself yo go convene with the pastor. A warm hand gripping the back of your neck rips you from your peaceful state.
“DIDN'T I tell you not to come here? And in what daddy chose this mornin’?”
“Sorry, daddy.”
“You’re about to be sorry. Get movin’, princess.” He takes your hand and pulls you up a flight of stairs. And once seated on a lone pew you look up and see the stain glass windows that decorate the walls. Your skin was hot as the realization set into your system.
“Wow its so pretty d-“ a hand is clamped to your lips as it sounds like more people are filling into the pews below. You hear men laughing and hollering. A buzz tickled through your body.
“They’re havin’ the men’s service. Pastor calls it absolving sins circle. And I’m gonna absolve my sin right up here where I always sit.” You gulp and he chuckles. His hands are hot against your skin as he runs his hands up your legs.
“E-Elvis, we can’t-“ a harsh smack to the inside of your thigh silences you. He pulls you towards him. Your back taut against his chest. Your heart rate speeding up.
“Ah ah! That’s not my name right now, lil’ mama.”
“D-Daddy. Please.” His hand is hot against your mouth as he continues to shush you. His cock is hard and demanding as he grinds you against his clothed erection. Your eyes roll back as you thank God that Elvis picked out such a thin and short skirt today.
“Now. We’ve had a recent discussion about confession and not a lot of y’all comin’ to it. Sinners will be forgiven. You must want to be forgiven.” The pastors booming voice spread through the almost silent church.
“You see, princess? You’ll be forgiven.” He smirks as his teeth grind into your soft flesh of your nape. You suck in a breath and his hand on your mouth gets tighter. Lifting off for a split second as you grab his wrist. You lead his hand down to your unclothed pussy. His resolve to tease was hangin on by a thread as you turned to remove him from his trousers. His cock sprang free, wet with precum. His breathing was labored as the pastor continued his talk about premarital sex now being a confessions sin. He looked at you as you dropped to your knees, his patience wavering. You spit onto your hand and begin to rub your palm around his tip. He takes a sharp breath biting his lip to stop the groan from passing through as you look up at him innocently.
“What’s wrong, daddy? You’ve gotta listen to your friend down there.” He rolled his eyes, his fist grabbing your hair as he pulled you forward. Your lips wrapped around his cock in a fever as the sounds of squelching amped up in your small space above the church goers. You began to take Elvis deeper in your throat when he takes his cock from your mouth. The pastor clears his throat from the murmur of people talking about the noise.
“Givin’ into the temptation of a woman and her skin flush with finest makeup is a sin my fellow men. But you may be forgiven in the eyes of our lord.” Elvis turns you around as you sit back on his lap. You run his cock between your folds the best you can as his grip tightens around you. You lean back as he lines up his member. You wrap your arms around his neck.
“Forgive me father for I have sinned.” He grabbed your hips, his cock within your walls in record time. He grabs your throat as you sob.
“You keep your pretty little mouth quiet, yeah? Daddy will buy you anythin’ you want, okay? That’s my girl.” You take your lip between his teeth as he pulls your waist down to meet his thrusts. Your head lolling back as he marked your exposed skin.
“D-Daddy, I want you to cum in me so bad.”
“Y-Yeah? Wanna show the whole congregation what I did to you while you walk out of here with my cum drippin’ down your thighs?” Elvis’ mind was getting fuzzy just thinking about it. His cock was hot inside you as he pulled down your blouse to reveal you had no bra either.
“Oops, you forgot to leave me out any underwear, Presley.” He growled softly into your chest as he rolled his tongue around one of your nipples. You clasp your hands to your mouth as he contoured your chest in more bruises. Just when the last ones were finally gone, you thought. You would never object to see more of those marks on him however.
“Holy shit. Please, faster.” You beg Elvis as you feel your end nearing. The fact of being in public and in a church pushing you to your orgasm faster than you’ve ever felt. Elvis’ hand wiggled down your body to start his circling of your clit. His other hand gripping you close to continue his harsh thrusts. His eyes hardly leaving where you both were connected.
“You gonna cum already, princess,” you nod profusely as his grip tightens,” me too, fuck. This is so hot.” You breathlessly nod along as you feel your body quiver. Your eyes scrunch shut as his hand speeds up on your clit. The addictive sensation of your orgasm washes over you as your body shakes. The feeling of Elvis’ climax isn’t too long after as he bites your shoulder to keep himself quiet. He desperately clothes you as the second sermon of the day begins to close. You are fucked out and he wraps you in his long coat.
“I-I really just came here to see you. I didn’t think this would-“ he cuts you off with a quick kiss. You smile as he takes your hand in his.
“It’s a better visit than I could’ve asked for, princess. Now, there’s gonna be paparazzi here any minute. I want you to go through the back and meet back up with my daddy, okay?” You nod and wrap your arms around his neck. He chuckles seeing you on your tippy toes.
“Hm, one day they’ll know.” He smiles down at you, his lips are warm and sweet. The kiss deepening as he pulls you in by the waist. His hand threaded through your hair. God, he needed to get that ring on that damn finger.
“Ahem. I’ll be taking her now, Elvis.” His dad stood there awkwardly as you blushed. You hugged Elvis one more time. His father links his arms into yours and smiles.
“Wedding ring soon enough, Y/N. Soon enough.” You rolled your eyes but looked down at your jewel adorned hand. It would be nice wouldn’t it?
————————
“I think it’s nice he’s lettin’ you move in slowly. That way you get a feel for it! I’ll be stayin’ with you for a bit. On his dime he said.” Emily giggled as she placed her bags next yours. You still couldn’t believe you said yes. However, you were lying to your parents saying you were living with Emily.
“The only thing is I can only go out the back way whenever Elvis is home. It makes me feel like I’m doin’ a walk a’ shame.” Emily wraps an arm around you and smiles softly.
“You are datin’ THE Elvis Presley! Girl, you won the lottery! We gotta stop with all this depressin’ shit!” She takes your hand and leads you down the stars. She stops abruptly. She tries pushing you up the stairs in a hurry.
“W-What are you doin’? Let’s go talk to Elvis-“ You get just enough of a look down the stairs to see her. His ex-wife, Priscilla. She was just as gorgeous as all the papers were saying. Your heart dropped as she let him hug their daughter and her.
“Y/N, don’t start . I told you this would happen-“ you waved her off.
“I’m fine. I just forgot was all. I-I forget he’s got a family of his own.” You turn around and begin to fight the tears that beckon to fall down your cheeks as you think of the fact that you’ll never have that. Elvis will never love you like he did Priscilla. You were his place holder, weren’t you?
“Priscilla, thank you. She had lots of fun this weekend with me and her pop pop! Uh, I’ll be back performin’ soon so I’ll let you know. Thanks, prince- Cilla.” Your heart could’ve just fallen out of your chest as he fumbled his words. He was definitely still in love. You shook your head and ran up the stairs. Locking the door to whatever room you ended up in.
“Y/N, he’s gonna ask why you’re in there. And actin’ all solemn!” You ignored your best friend as the nagging fears you had since your first encounter rushed through you.
“Why me? I wish I never made that stupid call. I wish that guy at the bar could’ve made up a worse phone number to call.” You cry, your head in your hands. The tears felt relieving in a small sense but you curled up against the door looking at the room. It was Elvis’. The room was decorated in flower petals. The walls adorned with TCB and Elvis’ achievements. Candles on the night stands. You were in awe. The door begins to open and there is the man of the hour himself.
“Hey, I heard from Em. It’s not that serious I promise. I love you so much.” He sits on the ground next to you and your curl into his side within seconds.
“I just feel like I’m too young and you’ve already had your family and-“
“Hey, darlin’. Please, I love you so much. I’m never gonna leave you.”
“I love you too.” You speak softly as the tears continue to pour.
“I’ve been talking with those people from the comeback special about them being my managers and we’ll be out of here in no time. We’ll travel the world darlin’. You and me.”
“I’d go anywhere with you, Elvis Presley. And that’s the part that sucks! ” he chuckles as he wraps his arms around you. His rapid heartbeat keeping you from falling victim to your insecurities. For now.
“You are my everythin’, Darlin’. Don’t think that way ever,” his hand tilts your chin up at him, his eyes twinkling in the moonlight streaming through a slit in the curtains. The candles dimming slowly,” You are my best girl, right?” He slips a strand of hair behind your ear.
“Yes I am.” You smile, a blush tinting your cheeks. He kisses you gently. His lips spilling a mantra of feelings against yours of love and desperation. His hand resting upon your face guiding you within the kiss as tears begin to dry against your cheeks.
“Don’t leave me, Y/N.” You nod into the kiss as he pulls you onto his lap. His fingers intertwining with yours. A cold metal slips onto your finger and you break away.
“W-Wha- Elvis?” He leaves a soft
“It’s just a promise right now, baby. Okay? But a promise it’ll happen soon.”
“Mm, but shopping spree tomorrow, daddy?”
“Anything for you, my baby.”

My Devil In Disguise, pt. 3
Tumblr media
Surprises of Grandeur; Chapter 3
Austin! Elvis x OC, Elvis x OC
Summary: Annalise Snow is a girl that Hank Snow raised to be a good all American girl that all the other girls would want to be. Well when a boy that comes from the same Memphis Annalise missed...it turns out she's a little more wild then she thought. Will she travel to the ends of the Earth with a boy she just met? Or will she be left in the dust?
Chapter 4 here!
Warnings: swearing, yelling, steamy chapter, 50′s racial standards in music, Colonel Tom Parker, proofread 80 times and still not sure it makes sense.
Notes: Hi 'yall! Sorry this chapter took so long to come out! I have the source here that I used for this chapter :) I hope that the next chapter will be a bit faster haha! If anything doesn’t fully make sense right now it will be elaborated on in the chapter 4! Thanks again for all the support, lovies! Chapter 1 here!
“I’m gonna have to tell you, Darlin’. My shirt looks so much better on your body…” Elvis’ words trail off as he stared at Annalise’s body wearing his dark blue shirt. He traced the buttons on the shirt as he stalked closer to her.
“E-Elvis, I’m sorry I just didn’t. I didn’t think-“ Annalise stuttered as Elvis locked the door. His arms wrapping around her waist as her body shivered against him. Annalise felt foreign in her own body as she gazed at Elvis in the dark room. Lit only by the pale full moon behind his curtains. Elvis looked like he was staring down his prey and god did it make Annalise’s skin blaze with heat.
“I won’t do anything, baby. Just please let me kiss you again. God damn,” He sat next to her on the bed as he lead her to him. He searched her eyes for any sign of discomfort,” You are stunnin’, little mama.” His large hand slipped through her hair and pulled it gently back. His control seemed to leave his body the minute a small whimper left her lips. Their lips collided as Elvis gripped her body firmly. Like she wasn’t already pressed up against his heated body as close as it possibly could be. His lips were passionate and commanding as Annalise struggled to catch up. Annalise had just had her very first kiss with Elvis just a couple hours ago and here she was being pawed at like she was a life saving cure. A cure to the burning desire in Elvis’ system. He all but growled into her mouth. His grip on her hips almost bruising. She pushed him away slightly.
“E-Elvis, relax. I’m n-not goin’ nowhere. You’re kissin’ me like a rabid animal,” Elvis pulled back, blush evident as he shyly chuckled. Annalise laid as Elvis panted on top of her, ”Not that I h-hate it or nothin’.” He laughed and lifted his hand from behind her head. His finger tracing her lips softly as she giggled, breathlessly.
“God damn, baby. I-I couldn’t hold myself back . Shit,” He leant down and kissed her softly even though his body was telling him to completely ravage the angel beneath him. He closed his eyes, letting out a deep breath, "You really are a devil in disguise, Annalise Snow. Lord knows what you done to me.”  His breath was heavy as he explained. Annalise grinned, a teasing lilt as she spoke.
“Well, Mister Presley, I would never! You know my daddy always said I was a gift from the lord? That my voice was heaven sent itself?” Elvis seemed to ogle her as she spoke. Her hair was all around his pillow like a halo around her head. Her cheeks were flushed and her doe eyes were wide and wild. Her lips were red and glossy from his lips...god she was created by the Devil himself...
“Darlin’, you know it’s not nice to lie. Lord, you look,” He trailed off as he stole a kiss once more. His lips over took hers, even greedier than the last one. He was scared that if he let her go and stopped holding her body so close to his...she would be gone in an instant. That he’d open his eyes and she’d be back with her daddy in Louisiana. He groaned as he felt her tongue swipe against his bottom lip,” Damnit I gotta stop myself-” She wrapped her arms around the back of his neck and held him close as she whispered.
“What’s wrong with a little kissin’, Mister Presley? You give me a fever when you kiss me..” She sang the last part as she pulled Elvis down towards her. He bit his lip, stifling another groan. He felt like he was going to explode if he didn’t kiss her again. She slipped her hand up behind his head curling her finger around a lock of his raven hair.
“H-Hey, doll. We should go to bed. I-I’ve got some surprises for you this week,” She continued to stare up at him, just listening but hell she looked so good,” Annalise, baby, lemme speak. Screw it-” He inhales and crashes his lips onto hers. She whimpers into his mouth as his tongue delves into hers. He pulls away to pepper kisses on her neck. His teeth scrape against the sensitive part of her neck and she lets out a soft broken moan. Elvis finds it in himself to pull away for the final time to look at the state of Annalise. She looked even more like a goddess lying on his bed, moaning.
“E-Elvis,” her chest heaved as she tried to catch up on her breathing,” I think I’m-”
“Elvis, I know it’s late but I was hopin’ you’d let me talk to Miss Snow before we show her Graceland tomorrow. I still wanna be her-” Annalise’s wild night is interrupted by her best friends dad...again. His knock louder than the last. Elvis seems to not even register the Colonel as he continued to trail his kisses to the top of her shirt. His head clouded with just Annalise and only her as he unbuttoned the top button. Elvis took a deep breath. He held a finger to her lips and smirked. He pulled his covers over her as he stood up.
“Hey, Colonel. She’s asleep right now. I’ll talk to you in the morning.” His southern drawl sounding deeper than usual. It looked like Mr. Parker was trying to get in the room. She could feel herself getting nervous. Talk about what? He shut the door and laid next to Annalise.
“What did he mean Graceland? What,” Elvis grabbed her by the waist, pulling her closer to his body. He closed his eyes as she huffed,” Elvis, you know how I feel about surprises and when you’re lyin’. C’mon you can just tell me these things, Elvis. I know you ain’t sleepin’!” She cuddled into his chest as he kept his eyes closed. She sighed and left a kiss on his neck, making Elvis shiver in the process.
“I’m takin’ you to see it in the mornin’, baby. No need to huff and puff. I’m takin’ you extra early now ‘cause you can’t keep your lips to yourself, sweetheart.” His voice becoming veiled with sleep. She giggled and snuggled into his arms, closing her eyes as well. Graceland? What the hell could that be?
----------------------------------------
“You’re kiddin’! Elvis...a pink Cadillac?! I thought you were savin’ that money for a house! O-Or a place in Hollywood like you always wanted!” Annalise was surprised to say the least. She ran her hand along the interior of the car as Elvis drove them to the next surprise. She’d only seen celebrities driving these. What kind of money did Elvis have? She knew Elvis’ albums were selling like hot cakes but not this quickly.
“H-Hey don’t be yellin’ at me yet, darlin’. I know what I’m doin’ and Colonel has been helpin’ me too.” He smiled at her skeptical gaze. He grasped her hand as they made a turn. Annalise’s stomach churned as they came upon what could be called a castle. Boxes and cars littered the front lawn. People coming in and out of the front door like clockwork.
“Elvis Aaron Presley! You bought a house?! It’s enormous! Oh my god I-” She's interrupted by seeing her own clothes in boxes and Vernon taking them into the house. She turned slowly and met his nervous stare.
“I-I knew you’d worry too much about it if I told you I bought all this. I-I wanna take care of my family. That includes you too...i-if you wanna go steady with me, of course.” Annalise felt her jaw drop she never thought she’d be kissing Elvis let alone even living her life with him. She was in awe...she would’ve thought her daddy would’ve tracked her down and taken her home by now but here she was...Elvis Presley’s girlfriend.
“Y-You sure? I-I don’t want your image to go sour if we ever get found out, Elvis. I-I can’t thank you enough for makin’ a girl feel special but-” A kiss cuts her rambling. She squeaks softly into his mouth as he chuckles. He slips a hand behind her head and pulls her closer.
“I’m so sure ‘bout you, Snow. I honestly think I’d ruin your image if we got found out.” She cocked her head to the side in confusion as he laughed,” You are Hank Snow’s Conservative Lass! You just recorded a song about kissin’ that I sang. Lord, if the press don’t think I’m deflowerin’ your image? They are lackin’.” He placed a quick kiss on her lips and gets out of the car.
“Oh Annalise! Let me show you how gorgeous this place is! I can’t believe this is the roof over our heads now! I-I told Elvis it was too much! ” Gladys took Annalise’s hands and lead her into the front door as Vernon continued picking up boxes. As they made their way into the main foyer, Annalise stopped herself.
“M-Mrs. Presley what is all that?” Her hand became clammy and she didn’t know if Gladys could feel it as the older woman’s grip tightened. There stood Tom Parker and piles and piles of things with Elvis’ face on them.
“I call it Merchandise! Your face on every conceivable object! Including teddy bears, perfume, busts-”
“Of questionable likeness.” Vernon chuckles.
“An Elvis Presley Game,” He waved the game in Annalise's face as he smiled,” Something so everyone can show their love.” He placed the ‘I LIKE ELVIS’ button in her hand and winked. A violent chill ran through her body. He knew.
“I Hate Elvis.” Gladys was still holding Annalise’s hand and she turned
“Yes, I Hate Elvis. What is hate worth if it’s free?”
“The Snowman strikes again!”
“W-Why is there makeup with my face on it? Berets with A’s on ‘em? A-And a doll of both of us?” Annalise picked up the items in horror. She looked at Elvis in shock as he sat down next to his dad.
“I like the idea, Annalise. What’s wrong?” Her jaw all but dropped at his nonchalant tone.
“I don’t know if you remember Elvis but Mr. Parker made you break up with Dixie over these fans! What happens when I’m selling under Elvis Presley Enterprises,” Annalise picks up a pillow that says ‘Fever Through the Night’ with a picture of her and Elvis’ faces on it,” I-I don’t think I can do this. This is too much, y’all.” She looked to Gladys for support and she placed a hand on her back nodding. To say Annalise was terrified was a huge understatement. Elvis let out a sigh and looked to Colonel.
“W-Wait Elvis Presley Enterprises? I was supposed to sign you under me as your manager? I see no updates in our papers, Miss Snow?” The older gentleman wrung his hands together almost nervous. Who could let this second biggest star roll past him? Not when he could make twice the money!
“I-I made a choice. Y’all could use my likeness and I could still perform a-and record with Elvis. However,” she took a big breath and closed her eyes,” I-I ain’t no big shot like Elvis Presley. A-And I wanted to go back to my roots, ya know? I asked B.B King.” The silence that followed was deafening. Annalise felt tense as she waited for the arguing to ensue.
“You and B.B will be unstoppable, baby! I can’t wait to see what y’all can do! M-Maybe B.B will finally be recognized for more than his skin color! When did y-“ Elvis stood up with only to be separated by a cane in between the two. The colonel looked furious as he took in Annalise’s shaking figure.
“Miss Snow, you can’t be managed by a colored singer? He’ll get you killed! At least under my management you-“ Annalise scoffed and turned around abruptly. Her anger rising to a level she couldn’t control.
“I don’t get it! Why can’t I? Just because of they skin they don’t get paid? They get their tour buses shot at? They get fed rotten god damn’ food! I can’t even go to a concert for any of his friends because their concerts? If I so much as look at them they can get arrested,” she starts to tear up and looks at Elvis instead of the Colonel,” Elvis, please be on my side for this!” Her tone wavered as she looked helplessly at the silent man.
“Keep your manager. No one gets to know and people assume I’m your manager, all right? Though I get a cut of your first few record royalties? Then you’ve got a deal, Miss Snow! Just know that that man will never see the amount of money you and Elvis will ever make!” Annalise agreed and just wanted to be as far as possible from Mr. Parker. Gladys lead her to what was Glady and Vernon’s bedroom. She could hear his bellowing laugh as she walked away.
“I-I don’t like that man, Annalise. I think what you’re doin’ is going to change the music industry as we know it! Just like my booby.”   She wrapped her arms around the sobbing red head and shushed her. Her hand smoothing down the curls that laid frizzy on Annalise’s head. She rocked back and forth as Annalise continued to cry.
“I just want- I just,” she took a deep shaky breath,” I want them to know why Elvis does what he does. Why he sings those songs like no one else can! How music can bring us all together! I’m gettin’ tears all over you, Mrs. Presley! I’m sorry.” She starts to get up but Gladys pulls her back to her chest.
“Don’t apologize, sweet pea. This is your chance to shine. You are gonna do it brightly for me and for Elvis, right? You’re a part of the family now, ya hear me?“ Gladys chuckled as tears welled up in her eyes seeing the smile that graced Annalise’s tear stained face.
“Thank you, Mrs. Presley. I-I can’t wait to see what the future holds for us.” She hugged the older woman right as they both rose to their feet.
“Now c’mon, sweet pea. We’ll get your room settled.” Annalise let Gladys take her hand again and she feels like she can breathe for a minute. Maybe she did make the right choice. Maybe being at Graceland was going to change all their lives for the better. Even if that Parker was involved.
“Get that damn pillow out of here, booby! You know Annalise didn’t like it earlier!” Gladys picks up the aforementioned pillow and throws it at her son. Her other hand still gripping Annalise’s. Annalise didn’t know why Gladys clung to her so much but she wouldn’t complain. It felt safe. The safest she’s felt really.
“I-I’m sorry. I just thought Anna looked real sweet in the picture. I didn’t mean to tease.” Elvis felt like it was two against one and he was correct.
“Now I’m gonna let her get her stuff unpacked and you let her. No funny business, Elvis.” She hugged Annalise and left the pair alone.
“Sometimes I think my mama loves you more than me. Lord, I don’t blame her though.” Annalise rolled her eyes pushing him back a little. He mocked being wounded and placed the back of his hand on his forehead. Annalise giggled and threw a bow from one of the many boxes at him.
“Hush now. I gotta unpack. I don’t wanna talk about today. I just wanna be happy for you buying this house.” Elvis sighed, slipping his hands around her waist. Her back facing towards him as she hides away from him. He smiled and felt at peace with her in his arms.
“Baby, I know what you’re doing. I support you. This is gonna change everything we stand for. Don’t listen to the colonel he’s not always right, ya know?“ He whispered into her neck and began to place soft kisses once again. Annalise smiled and leaned back into the taller man. His bright blue eyes gleaming with adoration.
“Elvis?”
“Yes, darlin’?”
“I love you.”

-----------------------------------------
"Oh, do you think they'll remember me, Mister Presley? It's been years!" Elvis stood behind Annalise tying the big white bow in her red hair. He looked at her in the mirror and scoffed. Annalise pouted her rose colored lips. She pointed her mascara wand at him in warning.
"Darlin, You were Annalise Snow. They must've thought your daddy was gonna have your head. I think your friends would ‘member a girl like that." She sighed as Elvis placed her necklace around her neck. Except that wasn't the necklace she was wearing the night before. Her cross necklace is replaced with a soft pink heart locket. She gasped as the cold settled onto her skin.
"You’re kiddin’? Where did you get this? It's so pretty." She settled her hand on it, feeling the grooves between her fingers. Elvis played with the strands of her hair beneath her bow, grinning ear to ear.
"It's my mama's but I told her that I-I had someone special to put it on." He whispers the words upon the nape of her neck. His lips barely graced her skin.
"Wow. You didn't have to. I-I love it. Thank you so much. You’ve been too kind to me over all of this mess. I’m supposed to be helpin’ you get that new jacket." Her breathing seemed to quicken as his hands stayed massaging along her neck and shoulders. Elvis stood directly behind her to meet her eyes in the mirror.
"It looks amazin' on you, sweetheart," His southern drawl deepened. A chill ran down her spine," I got the jacket back but- you know wow. Lord, I thought you looked smokin' in that blue the night we met but wow this burgundy number looks divine!" Elvis chuckles as Annalise smooths her dress down as she stands. Her skin more than likely matching her lips now.
"You flatter me, Mister Presley. Thank you for helping me with my hair. You didn't have to. I know I’m a guest but-" She fixes the dark green jacket on his shoulders trying to avoid his gaze.
"It's Elvis, Doll! Yeah, you are my guest, little lady. I gotta make sure you’re still enjoyin’ yourself! Let's see what's for breakfast before we head out! " He grabs her hand and pulls her to the kitchen to see Gladys at the stove. The aroma of home cooking drifted through the small kitchen.
"Eggs and bacon sound good to y'all? I also put some coke bottles in a bag for the trip to the pier! Your daddy should have already put it in your trunk!" She seemed to almost squeal with delight at Annalise. She proceeded to talk Annalise's ear off about the trip today. Vernon set up the table and pulled Annalise's chair out for her.
"Always gotta be nice to the ladies, Elvis," Elvis rolled his eyes at his father, "That's how I got your mama! Be a gentleman, boy!" He chuckled and grasped Elvis' shoulders shaking him back and forth lightly. Elvis started to laugh and push him away.  The two boys finally started their breakfast as Gladys and Annalise were finishing.
"I really haven't gone anywhere other than a carnival since following around my daddy. My brother and I would sneak out to try to get away from the lights and rides but it always seemed too far from our grasp, ya know?." Gladys rubs her back and offers her a small smile.  Annalise soon found herself growing weary of how her brother Jimmie was without her. Was he being treated the same with her gone? Or was daddy happy to finally have the only son he wanted? Annalise was born from her mother's first marriage to a man from Memphis. Annalise didn't know much about her real daddy as her mama got married to Hank when she was three. All her life, Hank Snow was her daddy but not right now! She was her own person and she was going to become the star she always wished to be.
"Well, I hope the pier is what you've always wanted it to be! Y'all kids have fun now! Be home in time for dinner, Elvis!!" Gladys kissed Elvis on the cheek while he nodded. He grabbed his keys and took Annalise's hand as they walked to the truck.
"You told her we were going to the pier? Elvis, you know how I feel about lyin'! Your mama was so nice and she even packed some of the trunk for us with your daddy!" She folded her arms as she got into the passenger seat. Her lips drawing into a pout.
"If she knew we were going to Beale Street she'd tell me to go to the pier anyway! Tells me I hang out there too often! Mama tells me I need to focus on my job and not the music right now. She really wants me to just focus on me and not the others around me. I-I just wanna take care of my family." He sighed straightening his shoulders.
"Have you not told her fully about this big recording deal at RCA? Mister Presley," He looks at the map in her lap averting his gaze from her," Elvis Presley! You turn this truck around and we go tell her!" She pulls the map from his view and he huffs, rubbing his bottom lip with his finger.
"Jokes on you darlin'. I don't need that map," The truck revs to life as he steps on the gas passing by building after building," I'll tell my mama. Colonel told ‘em they have to sign some things anyway. I'm just nervous is all. What if this record deal don't work out, Doll? This is my dream but it feels like I'm teeterin' on the edge of it." He sighs and leans back in his seat a little.
"Well, I'll make sure you don't fall, Mister Presley. We’re gonna fly together. I'm here for the ride remember. We already talked to Mr. Phillips. He understood why you were leavin'." He smiles taking her hand in his. Annalise tries to ignore the heat of his palm against hers.
"Thanks, baby. Hey, you do know I'm not the only one recording at RCA ,right?" Annalise's posture straightened and she turned slowly to look at him.
"You did not! I could barely sing Amazing Grace in front of an audience on the Louisiana Hayride without wantin' to cry! RCA?! I could just cry now!" She huffed and placed her head in her hand looking out the window as they made their way to their destination.
"Come on, Annalise! This could be our big break! You tellin' me you're chicken?" He gets out of the car as Anna feels like she wants to melt into the seat.
"I am not chicken, Presley. I'm just not as talented as you are I me-"
"You ain't nothin' but a hound dog!" A woman sitting on the windowsill of Club Hardy interrupts her. Annalise feels her heart flutter as the women continues to sing. The amount of people passing by Anna makes her feel dizzy. Her dreams at night were becoming real. She stood there but soon a familiar voice broke her out of her daze. She whipped around to see the man she met all those years ago.
"B.B! Hey, it's me Annalise," she waves frantically leaving Elvis stunned behind her," Blue's Boy! hiya!" She finally stood in front of the snickering man who lifted her into his arms and spun her.
"My little Annalise Snow!! I knew you'd come back soon! How's my favorite Snow?" B.B twirled her around, singing as she giggled. Elvis shyly made his way towards the pair.
“I’m so good now that I see you!! C’mon! Get over here, Mister Presley! Usually he ain’t that shy!”
"Hey, ain't you that Elvis Presley fella? That song you made with Sun Records was great! You should be hittin' RCA next, boy?" Elvis felt like he needed to be pinched. His crush knew the biggest artist of their time?
"U-Um yeah, I mean, I'm hopin' to get some music recognized around here, ya know? I-I've always looked up to you a-and I've always wanted to see the inside of Club Handy, ya know?" Elvis felt like he was shaking tremendously as he spoke. Annalise was confused but that poor girl was sheltered as all hell. How would she know her friend was THE B.B. King?
"How about you and your lady friend come in now? We're just opening up for the day!  I'd love to have y'all see the magic!" Annalise took Elvis' hand and ran behind B.B as he lead them to he doors.
"Annalise, I think you may have to pinch me. I-I can't believe this." Elvis gripped her hand harshly. Annalise placed her hand on his cheek and smiled.
"C'mon!  Put a little pep in your step! Soon enough your name is gonna be lights, Mister Presley."
--------------------------------
"You gotta stop movin', kid. The mic keeps pickin' it up." The producer rolled his eyes starting another take for the single.
"If I can't move, I can't sing." He spoke into the mic softly.
"What is he doing? We paid for this?" The guys behind the recording were astonished.
"Please just let him do what he's doin' I promise you'll never hear anythin' better! he'll go straight to number one!  He's been workin' so hard on 'Heart Break Hotel!"
"Miss Snow, we can do anythin' like that for you. Are we recordin' a church song with you?"
"Ummm no. I'm not under my daddy no more. I ain't-." She waved the producers down and made her way to Elvis and embraced him.
“Hey, how did I do?”
"This is gonna be a number one album, Mister Presley! I promise you! You did such a good job! Your mama's gonna be so happy!" Annalise just about started jumping in excitement.
"T-Thank ya. I was shakin' like a leaf down here. I'm glad you're here with me." He caressed her cheek and she smiled.
"Now time to leave I know a great-"
"How about she sings Fever? I wanna hear you sing that so bad, please baby. I promise we'll get to writin' songs together soon." Annalise nods and smiles. Elvis was willing to halt his own writing for her? She needed to be pinched. I mean she had already seen Beale Street, THE B.B King bought her a new dress, and now she was recording at RCA? Her daddy be damned!
"Is it alright if I hold your guitar, Mister Presley? I-I know it’s not needed for the song but I um just wanted to. I uh have always wanted to hold it. Ya know, like a good luck charm?" Elvis took the strap and set it on her shoulders. He grinned  as she squealed touching the strings.
"Anything that is mine is yours, darlin'. Now sing your little heart out, treasure." Annalise nodded and waited for the go ahead from the producer. It was like nothing she ever felt before. Her heart fluttered and her body moved on it's own. She felt alive.
She would hum Elvis' songs in her motel room when she was alone. It had already felt forbidden then but singing them out loud and in front of him? She felt like she was on Cloud Nine. Elvis felt like he was in Heaven. Watchin' her sing his music was like a arrow from Cupid's bow shot him.
"That's a wrap for the day you guys! Great job!" Annalise thanked the producers and gave them hugs while the pair walked out of the booth. They made their way to Elvis' truck and both giggled as they stared at each other.
"You did amazing, Mister Presley! Seeing you record those songs was the bees knees! You've never looked so-" She clamped her hand over mouth and felt the heat rising to her already red cheeks.
"Wow, darlin'. One recordin' at RCA and you've already lost your pure filter? Maybe I'll have to take you here more often." Elvis snickers and sends a wink her way. She shakes her head.
"I-I'm sorry. That was just like nothin' I ever felt before! I-I felt like I was born anew! Do you think we could go back to Beale Street soon to tell Mister King?" She felt like her skin was afire. She didn't know she was anymore. She felt so real like she actually could exist in Elvis' world.
"And just think, darlin'. This is just the beginning we're gonna be stars. We could finally be in pictures like you've always dreamed." He placed his hand over hers and they both felt time stop. Annalise thought it's now or never. This boy has changed her life in a matter of hours, days, and would change it for years to come. Maybe it was to early as her nerves began to tremor through her body.
"E-Elvis...I-I want to let you-" Elvis shushed her and took her hand to his lips.
"I need to kiss you right now, treasure. Or I may just die right 'ere." Annalise's eyes widen and she nods enthusiastically. Elvis smirks, his hand finding it's way through her red hair. he pulls her slightly forward. Their lips finally meet and Annalise thinks Cloud Nine had been passed.  The searing hot desire she felt when she first saw Elvis perform and wiggle, seemed to crash through her once again. They pull away for a brief moment.
"I-I was gonna say that I wanted to let you know that I liked you." She smiled mindlessly. Her eyes never leaving his lips.
"Well, I think you know my answer, baby. Like you said earlier we're on this ride together. Now lets get home, little mama." Stealing one last kiss before smiling to himself. the truck roars to life and they were off to rest. Little did they know Colonel Tom Parker would be waiting for them at the Lauderdale Courts. Offering them everything they could ever want. Elvis had already signed away his life to him...now he wanted to make sure he had Annalise’s.
“Elvis! How was RCA, my boy? Was it what you always imagined?” He patted the raven haired boy on the back. Annalise tried to sneak on past the pair but as always she failed to get far enough.
“Annalise! How was recordin’ without the daddy? I can’t wait to hear the single!” Vernon gave her a big hug while she stood frozen in place. Even when she was on the road with Penelope she feared her best friends father. There was an aura of distain around him whenever she saw him.
“U-Uh it was great, Mr. Presley. I-I’m a bit tired. I’m gonna go get some shut eye th-”
“You recorded at RCA too, Miss Snow? Well, you’ll need a manager as well! I could very much have the future Presley duo on my hands!” He laughed loudly making Annalise flinch.
“Future Presley duo? What are you talkin’ about, Colonel?” Elvis looked confused as Annalise tried to get out of the conversation.
“Well, Miss Snow has always had a crush on Mister Elvis here! I just thought maybe y’all would become THE it couple of Hollywood!” Annalise felt like she wanted to just bury herself under the ground now. She couldn’t help but hope for what had just come out of the Colonel’s loud mouth anyway. Colonel looked at her, smiling. Though that smile always seemed to feel...off.  Elvis took her hand and bent down to whisper in her ear.
“Go to sleep, baby. I’ll give ‘im hell for ya. I gotta talk about some things with the family,” He kissed her head and made sure his father was distracting Colonel with his ramblings,” Good night. I’ll be in bed in a minute. I promise.” A quick kiss sent Annalise right to the bedroom after it finished.
She shut the door and stared at the wall next to it. She could still hear Mr. Parker’s voice through the wall. Something about a car and something about a house fit for a king. Annalise felt so small in the already small bedroom. Who the hell did she think she was? She shared two kisses with Elvis Presley. Finally tasting the forbidden fruit and Lord knows she isn’t ashamed. That’s when a sudden panic filled her bones and it’s like her daddy always said.
“Don’t write your soul to the Devil.,” She looked at herself in the mirror before changing her clothes,” Lord...I think I’m the Devil.” She whispers closing the last button of one of Elvis’ shirt on her pale skin. The door creaked and she made eye contact with Elvis just like the morning before.
“Darlin, you really are a sin to stare at.”

----------------------------------------------
Annalise stood there in awe. Her body was rigid and firm as the man danced on the stage in front of her. Her father was trying to pull her back from the mesmerizing hip thrusts of the young man in front of her. Annalise finally rips herself away as the girls in the audience screamed at this fella dressed in pink and strummin' that guitar like it was nothin'. Her father finally got her to her senses as he gripped her shoulders harshly. The sound of the guitar rattlin' her brain a little.
"Annalise Petunia Snow! I told you to stay with your brother backstage!" Her skin begins to flush as she realizes she's been enraptured by the young man on stage. She bows her head and starts to retreat back to her brother's side but not before looking back one more time. The pink clad singer turns to the side as he wiggles his legs and really his whole body. As Annalise's eyes scanned his figure their eyes meet and a teasing wink from him is all it takes for her to whip around right to her brother.
"Hey," Jimmie chuckles, "you're just as bad as all those other crazy cats out there. What's gotten into you, Anna?" Annalise fumbles with the words in her brain as she can still hear the raven haired wonder's voice ring through the air. She really couldn't say. Sure there had been boys that offered her a milkshake or a ride to the drive ins but no man every made her feel such 'searing desire. Her skin still felt flushed with shame from when her father gripped her back into reality.
"I-I really don't know, Jimmie. He's just somethin' never heard of before. Somethin' raw, you know?" Jimmie rolled his eyes, chortling. Annalise rubbed her clammy hands on her dress finally realizing that the dress she was wearing was the one her best friend lent her. Penelope Parker...she was gonna have a talking to soon enough. The dress was baby blue going down to just above her mid-knee but was it TIGHT to her curves. The straps laid gently on her shoulders and slipped constantly. She felt it flow against her as she felt herself dancing WITH Elvis earlier. As she went to fix her strap a large hand covered her shoulder placing the strap gently on her skin.  She looked up and that searing desire laid rampant in her body once again.
"There ya are, Darlin'. You're warm," His lips were close to the shell of her ear as he spoke," Blue is one my favorite colors." He pulled away and it felt like whatever warmth she had was sucked out of her as he walked away guitar in hand. Meanwhile Penelope was waving frantically.
"ANNALISE PETUNIA SNOW! Did that Elvis Presley fella just touch you? AND whisper in your ear?!" Her hand went to her head as she sighed feigning a swoon. Annalise crossed her arms and pushed Penelope slightly.
"Penelope Suanne Parker! When in the Lord's name did you walk away from me earlier?! My daddy found me droolin' all over that boy from Memphis!" Penelope's snorting laughter ensued. Annalise could just bury herself now so her daddy wouldn't have to. Pen placed her hand on Anna's shoulder.
"I think I've helped you, Doll. So don't go flippin' your lid at me, girl." Pen scoffed. She twirled Annalise around and giggled.
"This isn't funny, Pen! My daddy's gonna keep me locked up for years to come because of this! I'll never be able to leave my motel room because of this!" Annalise rubbed her hands over her face in embarrassment.
"Come on, Anna. Cheer up and let's go back to your room tonight. We can have a sleepover like old times!" She cried out pulling Annalise's arm towards her. Annalise nodded and followed her along but not without seeing the 'Presley' boy from earlier. He seemed to be waiting for his mama to finish her panicked speech about the girls from earlier. Anna felt like her body had been frozen in place. His black hair bobbed along as he nodded his head at her. His head turned for a second and their eyes met. The spark of forbidden electricity struck her to her very core. Anna didn't know what possessed her to even walk over to the Presleys but here she was.
"Hello? Mrs. Presley," Annalise smiled warmly at the beyond stressed woman," I'm Hank Snow's daughter and I wanted to apologize for the behavior of the crowd. I've been doin' this forever and-" Mrs. Presley cuts her off with a chuckle.
"Thank you, Miss Snow. I'm glad to know some of the girls in the crowd tonight had their heads screwed on a little bit straight for my bewbie." Her eyes twinkled while she looked at her son.  Though it seemed Elvis couldn't take his eyes off of Anna.
"If you want to look for any compensation for the jacket I can surely pay you-" She's once again cut off but this time by the Presley boy.
"How about you just come with me, dolly? I'd need some advice from a Snow that's been in this business awhile?" Annalise nodded and gave Elvis the number of the telephone in the motel room.
"Y'all get home safe now! I'll see you soon, Mister Presley!"
"It's Elvis, Darlin'!" She nodded and waved them off turning around to a bewildered Penelope.
"You sly fox you! Look at you go, missy!"
"Oh hush, Pen! Didn't you say earlier this morning he's nineteen? Daddy would kill both of us!"
"Older boys always have the most money is what my daddy says!"
"Yeah, well your daddy's a little off his rocker. I don't think I'll be takin' his advice anytime soon."
------------------------
"Daddy! Stop! You get to perform in all these conditions it's only fair Mister Presley gets to as well!" Annalise gripped her father's arm harshly trying to pull him away from Mr. Parker.
"Why don't you tell her what you just said....Colonel..." Hank turns to his son who is still looking a bit bewildered himself. Annalise lets go of her father's arm and looks at her best friend's father. Her blood pumping through her ears.
"I want you to come with me and Elvis on the road. I'm dropping your daddy however in the process. It's not personal, Miss Snow." Annalise's eyes widen in shock. How could Mr. Parker do that to her father after all they've been through? Had her daddy finally hit rock bottom?
"M-Mr. Parker, why would you need me to come along?"
"Mister Presley told me he needed a back up singer. A young eye. A yo-" Tom is interrupted by Hank groaning.
"That damn beatnik wants to take you to be his greaser bitch! HE ain't takin' MY little angel!" Annalise is grappled into her father's arms while she stands there in shock yet. Jimmie pats his father on the back.
"This is a decision up to Anna, daddy. You gotta let her speak." Jimmie expresses calmly. Hank lets the shaking red head go. She meets Mr. Parker's awaiting eyes. The words seem to bubble in her throat as tears fill here eyes. She makes a run for the carnival to find her best friend. How could her father say that about Elvis? How dare Tom Parker make her a pawn in a game against her own father?
"Where ya goin', Doll? You still haven't come with me to the shops? I thought you were flackin' on me." The large hand on her shoulder drives through goosebumps all over her skin.  His blue eyes shifted from playful to concern within seconds. She gasped and wiped her face abruptly.
"Hey, Mister Presley. I-I didn't mean to bump into you so soon. Um, I uh heard about the offer from, Mr. Parker."
"Darlin' I told you to call me Elvis. You make me feel old when you say it like that. What do you think? I'd hate to leave you under the shine of your family. You've gotta spread those wings, baby." Annalise feels heat rush to her cheeks at the name.
"Mister Presley, I don't think I can. You don't know what my daddy would do if I did."
"Well how about you talk to your mama? You told me she was like your best friend. I really would like to have my best girl by my side." The thoughts racing through Annalise's head were sinful and filthy. Who the hell was this man and how did he take her innocence in his stride? There were so many girls throwing themselves at Elvis every performance.  How could she keep up with that?
"I-I will. Can I give you an answer in the mornin'?" Elvis smiles and takes her arm in his.
"Of course, Doll. Now I'm gonna walk you back to your room in case Colonel tries to stop you again." She smiles right back. Her skin felt alight with new found energy. She was dumbfounded by how good just standing next to him felt. They get to the door of her motel room with no interruption. She lets out a sigh of relief she didn't know she was holdin' in.
"Thanks, Mister Presley. I'll call my mama right now. This is all doin' my head in tight now. I've never disobeyed him....ever." She sighed while she unlinked her arm, from his. Elvis pursed his lips and shrugged.
"I wish it was easier, Darlin'. I just have to have you with me for the ride. And just think about it, you'll have Penelope too!" Annalise had never thought about it like that before . She could have the life she always wanted. Maybe if she followed Elvis to end of the Earth she'd be free from her daddy's conservative grasp. Elvis took her hand in his, pressing his lips to it gently. Her skin felt hot to the touch.
"YOU DAMN GREASER! Get your god damn disgusting paws off my daughter! Annalise get your ass over here now ore I'm sending you home!" Her father was seething as Jimmie held him back. Annalise grabbed Elvis' hand and took a deep breath.
"Ain't that the bite, daddy! I'm tellin' mama I'm goin' with Mister Presley to the ends of the Earth! Forget you, wet rag!" She blew her hair out of her face and pulled Elvis into her room. She locks it with baited breath. She turns to see Elvis' shocked face. Pounding stuns them both as she shrieks. Elvis wraps his arms around her with his hand cradling her head as hot tears decorated his shoulder.
"It's alright, Mama. I've gotcha. Nothin’s gonna happen with me here. Hush, baby. Don't bash ears, baby." His warmth engulfed her as her world shattered to pieces. She really went against her father for a boy she saw wigglin' on a stage. After the pounding had stopped she dialed her mother's number back home.
"H-Hello, Momma. D-daddy already called? Mhm," She hiccupped her words as Elvis rubbed her back softly, "I'm gonna stay with Mister Presley's family. Mhm, I tell 'em thank ya. Daddy's gonna be mad when he gets back. I won't apologize. I love you too momma. Good night." She placed the phone down gently.
"Lemme call my folks quick, okay? If anything I'll sleep on the floor of my bedroom." He sends a wink her way and she feels smaller than before. This boy was about to open his home to her and he didn't even know her that well.
"Mister Presley, I don’t-“ He places a finger to his lips as he calls his mama.
"Hey Mama. I missed you too. Hey I know. I'm safe. Well this isn't my room. You know Hank Snow's daughter," He smiles and grabs Annalise's hand," Yes the sweet little thing from Memphis. She needs somewhere to stay for a bit so- you would! Thanks mama! I love you more. Goodnight, Mama." He turns to Annalise and hugs her close.
"I-I'm gonna be free from this Carnival , Mister Presley. I-I've never left Daddy and Jimmie." Elvis took her hand in his, bringing it to his lips.
"We're in good hands Darlin'. We're gonna change the world. To the ends of the Earth always, right? I'm going to go find, Colonel. Let him know I'll be drivin' ya around tomorrow." Anna nodded and smiled. Watching him leave from the window in the motel room.
"What the hell am I doin'? I must be smitten'." Annaliese Falls into her bed and sighs. God, how could she have done any of that? She's never seen her daddy that mad in her life. She hoped he wouldn't come to say goodbye as she left with Elvis.
---------------------------------------------
"I can't believe this is how I meet your parents...My daddy throwin' me out like trash." Elvis huffed and opened the door of his work truck for her to hop in. Elvis had a tense conversation with her father when he left the room in the mornin'. She heard a lot of swear words and Elvis threatenin' to give her daddy a knuckle sandwich if he tried to take her from Elvis while he packed his truck.
"You know they already love ya, Annalise. They're the ones that wanted you to sing my song on stage the other day! They heard you sing Amazing Grace with your father and thought you were a blessin'." She chuckles at the statement. He looks at his hair in the mirror.
"My daddy would not have taken to kindly that. He already thought me learning guitar when I was ten was witchcraft because it was for boys. Only I could sing. Jimmie would teach me anyway when daddy was out recording his songs!"
"Well your daddy has been wrong about a lot of things so far, Darlin'. So far we're winnin' this game." Elvis' truck revs to life and she watched as the carnival got smaller from her view. Jimmie had at least given her a hug and cried a bit before lettin' her go. Saying something about giving Mister Presley his blessing, whatever that meant. Seeing her daddy watch ominously off the balcony while she stared at him through the review mirror of Elvis' truck had her feeling somewhat prideful. That man controlled her life in the spotlight since she was born. At least her Mama was proud of her.
"Little Miss Snow! It is so nice to meet you, sweet pea! We were so excited. I baked too many sweets! Come on in." Gladys trails Anna through the house while Elvis stands holding her bags. The car ride was peaceful but now Anna felt like she was going to melt of nervousness.
"I haven't seen her this happy about a girl you brought home since you left Dixie." His daddy spoke. Elvis sulked and pushed his father's shoulder a bit.
"That's not funny, daddy. Annalise is a guest she ain't my girl."
"Yet, Elvis. Not yet." He smirks and pats Elvis on the back while they enter the house.
"Mrs. Presley. This is the best banana bread I've ever had! How did y'all know it was my favorite?" Gladys smiled and placed an arm around her shoulders.
"My mama just has this sense. The sweet sense." He chuckles placing her bags on the ground.
"Well maybe we can make some together later, Annalise! That would be a time! I've even got an extra apron!" She swung a light blue and pink apron around like ballgowns. Gladys seemed to really enjoy her company just like Elvis had been hoping.
"I'm gonna show her my room. Our room. Nah, not like that. I'm gonna show her where she's gonna be at." Elvis stumbled and fumbled his words. The giggle that emanated through the room was enough to make Elvis swoon. She followed after still eating her banana bread piece.
"I don't mind sleeping in the same bed." Elvis whipped his head around. His eyes seemed panicked as Annalise laughed.
"Can you not kill a boy tryin' to be a gentleman 'cause you are makin' it hard, Doll." His words came out breathy and Annalise covered her mouth to stifle her giggles.
"Hey, you ever hear of Beale Street," Elvis once again stood slack in surprise," my daddy got lost once there. It was so funny to see his face as I ran out of the car. I made a couple friends since we got stranded for a couple days there before I had become Hank Snow's Conservative Lass. I really miss ‘em." She stared out Elvis' window and sighed heavily.
"You? And Beale Street? Doll," his breath was shakier than before," you are my dream come true. I'll take you tomorrow since we've got some time before we go. It's just as amazin' as you remember." Annalise grins from ear to ear, throwing her arms around Elvis.
"I've always tried to sneak out to go see it! Daddy always caught me! I could see Club Handy up close, Mister Presley!!" He took her hands in his and smiled.
"I'll take you anywhere, Annalise. To the ends of the Earth if I had to." His hand caressed the side of her cheek. That feeling of searing hot desire filled Annalise's veins. She knew they were getting a little too close since her daddy disowning her so fast but she couldn't stop herself. She had to taste the forbidden fruit once and for all. Their lips seemed to gravitate towards one another. Her first kiss was about to be with a greaser...that almost punched her daddy's lights out. She could just die happily.
"Mister Presley, I really want t-"
"Elvis! Come here please! You said earlier we needed to talk, booby!" Gladys' voice interrupted whatever magnetic pull was between the two. The two stared at each other incredulous. Annalise nodded and turned to Elvis' bed while he closed the door.
"Annalise Petunia Snow. Elvis Presley ain't bein' this nice for fun. What are we doin'?" She took out a couple dresses and laid them flat on the bed. She thought to herself however, bein' Elvis' girl sounded like a dream come true. The ends of the Earth could never compare. And in Elvis' mind the Rock of Eternity was a long ways behind havin' Annalise for life.

“It’s Milton Berle! The whole of America will be watchin’!”  Elvis tells the shop owner as he complains B.B and him are running him out of business. Annalise laughs and places a hand on Elvis’ chest.
“He don’t watch television, Elvis. He just sews the threads on y’alls backs!” She pats his lapel and winks as B.B twirls her around. He turns his attention back to Elvis as she sat down. Her attention on one of her friends helping her latch her new shoes.
“So what’s it gonna be? What’s gonna blow their wigs off?” He stands still as the shop owner measures him.
“Well the network wants me to do a ballad but I left that up to Annalise. So I’m thinkin about cuttin’ it up with Hound Dog!” He smiles and B.B whistles.
“Ho! Elvis Presley...Hound Dog? Strange things are happenin’ everyday. What’s my little Snow gonna do?” He fixed the bow on her ponytail as she looked up at the men. She places a finger on her chin in thought.
“I was thinkin’ pitchin’ and slowin’ down Heartbreak Hotel! I heard my daddy would be watchin’ so I think that’ll give ‘em a shock!” She shook her shoulders back and forth as the two men snickered at the thought.
“Did you go to Beth-Ann for the fittin’? I wanna make sure my little star looks like a real one on that television screen!” B.B wrapped an arm around her shoulder and she nodded. She looked up at Elvis as his measurements were checked as well to make sure his outfit was well in order for the performance. He looked ethereal just getting a fitting. She was gonna be a mess for when he performed later, huh?
“I can’t wait! Elvis you’re gonna love my outfit! I promise it’ll be show stoppin’! I’m gonna make my daddy pass out!“ She clapped her hands together and giggled, her feet swinging back and forth above the floor. B.B rubbed her back and stood up. Dusting his shoulders off, he placed his hand on Elvis’ shoulder.
“Honestly, E.P. That dress might make most of America’s men pass out! She’s gonna be a knock out! I told her it might be a little too much for them conservative white folk!” He chuckled as Elvis crossed his arms.
“Damn I might get a little green in the face, darlin’. I’ll try to keep calm durin’ my performance.” He winked as Annalise flushed pink. She was doin’ this really to make her dad upset. That she was no longer an angelic symbol but…teasing Elvis? That sounded like the best plan in her head.
“Now now, kids. Don’t get too excited! You guys gotta make it there first!”
———————————-
“I feel like my entire body is gonna fall, Elvis. I-I don’t think I can do this!” Her hands shook and they felt sweaty. She felt her body shiver and break out into a cold sweat. She thought this was going to be fun but she was going on right after Elvis and she KNEW it was gonna be a tough crowd after that. A gentle tug of her hand releases her from her thoughts.
“C’mon baby. I promise you’re gonna do great! Are you wearing that coat for the performance?” Her breath stopped and she wrapped the coat tighter around herself. She shakes her head and Elvis kisses her on the forehead as his name is called out.
“I can do this. I can do this.” She peaks around the navy curtain and her family is smack dab in the middle of the crowd. Her head clouding with doubt as she’s thinking about performing. Not even Elvis performing can distract her from seeing her daddy’s scorn face. How was she going to sing with him right in front of her face?
“Now, Miss Snow. Let’s take this jacket off and get you a little somethin’!“ Colonel Parker took Annalise’s coat and handed it to some assistant. He smiled as Annalise’s body shook. She took her hands as she smoothed her dress out, sweat becoming prominent in her system.
“How about you just sing your little Hallelujah or Amazing Grace! You’d be beloved for being Hank Snow’s Conservative Lass again! Make your money with your daddy again and Elvis won’t-“ She whipped her head back as he stopped his gaslighting. She raised her finger to his face.
“I ain’t gonna hear another word come out that mouth, Parker! Elvis and I are a package deal!” She scoffed as he put his hands up in surrender. She couldn’t believe the nerve of this man and why Elvis was wrapped around his finger.
“And welcome to our stage, Miss Annalise Snow!” She dropped the coat from her shoulders and winked at Tom Parker.
“And don’t cha worry, Parker. I can get Elvis to do whatever I want too.” She took a deep breath and shook her hands out. What the hell was going on with her? She walked past the curtain waving at the cheering crowd.
“Miss Annalise, you look gorgeous tonight! Now, Elvis really cut a rug! What’re you gonna do to one up ‘em?” She giggled at Milton and turned towards the audience. She made eye contact with her daddy. His face was etched in surprise, laced with a complete sneer of disgust. She smiled and looked at Milton.
“Imma sing Heartbreak Hotel! Elvis helped me pitch it up and even helped me record it in the studio at RCA! Though y’all will have to wait and see if I release it.” You sent a wink to the crowd and a few men audibly groaned. She covered her mouth and a blush made it’s way to her cheeks. The music began and her body began to relax as she was back in her element.
“Well, since my baby left me. Well, I found a new place to dwell.”
Her daddy’s jaw seemed to go slack as he watched his daughter dance for this audience. She was just like Elvis. Her raw magnetism was pulling these young men (and even a few ladies) into sin! How deplorable!
“Well, it’s down at the end of Lonely Street. At Heartbreak Hotel.”
Annalise couldn’t stop thinking about the way Elvis tore up the stage with Hound Dog. How many of those girls were feeling the same feeling she felt when she met him on the Louisiana Hayride? She gripped the microphone stand and slid her hand down it slowly.
“Where I’ll be, I’ll be so lonely baby, Well, I’m so lonely. I’ll be so lonely, I could die.”
She began to drag the mic stand with her as she walked a little closer to the camera. She sent a kiss and wink as she ended the song. Her way of singing the song was definitely more different than Elvis’. She bowed and waved at the crowd not missing her brother’s enthusiasm as he held a small sign that read, “Annalise Snow’s #1 fan!”.
“Holy, mama. I don’t think I ever wanna sing again. I just wanna hear you sing every single damn song I’ve ever sung.” Elvis’ southern drawl dripped into her ear as a protective hand found solace on her lower back. Her body felt afire.
“Well you didn’t do half bad yourself, Mister Presley” She whispered. Her hands fumbling with his lapels just so she didn’t have to look in his eyes. His electric laugh ruined that plan however. She tilted her head in confusion.
“I saw your daddy’s face out there, darlin’. He was so shocked to see ya rock that song! I’m gonna have to treat you to somethin’ special. Let’s get you ready to go home, baby.” He grabbed her coat and her hand. He laid a quick kiss on her forehead as they tried to run out of the venue as quick as they could.
——————
“Bar Elvis Presley from Television?! This is ridiculous! Just because you’re movin’!” She threw the pile of newspapers to the ground as she ran her hands shakily through her auburn hair. She bit on her nails, large hands grabbing hers as Elvis kissed them softly. The piano seemed so far away from them as she stared at the floor. More and more headlines reading their names.
“They also want you sent back to Louisiana, darlin’. They think your bein’ held captive by me and Beale Street. They got pictures of us there. I-I don’t blame you if you do but-“  “
“This is ridiculous Elvis! We’re doin’ what we love! We ain’t hurtin’ no one! Elvis I promised you I’d follow you to the ends of the Earth!” She grazed his face with her fingers as his eyes seemed to slightly soften upon the small act.

“That’s one of the most childish expressions I’ve ever heard coming from an adult.” Annalise sighed in agreement. She came to rest on his lap. Tom Parker once again graces the pair with his presence.
“The New Elvis Presley! And of course the New Annalise Snow!” Annalise’s jaw dropped at the costumes. A hellish butler tailcoat and what looked like a damn communion dress! The damn thing looked like a large tutu!
“You have got to be kidding! I ain’t wearin’ that! How is Elvis gonna move in those?” She looked wide eyed at Elvis who returned the same look.
“That’s the point! They think you have broken the segregation laws. They wanna send Elvis to jail for his moves…and you to a church to learn the ways of a nun! We will take care of this the easy way!” The man pulls on the outfits on the rack and grins. Time was running out for the next performance and the pair’s brains were reeling. They knew they’d be embarrassed but why was the Colonel so happy about it?
“Just for this show? And that children’s charity concert?” Elvis let out a deep sigh as the Colonel nodded.
“Then we can put this all behind us.” Tom smiled as he placed the costumes in the hands of the two young lovers. The two picked at the costumes and hastily began to change.
“Let’s get this over with, Elvis.”
———————-
“GOD DAMNIT! I know how to do a skit! I-I coulda made it funny!” Elvis growled throwing the tailcoat to the ground. He rubbed his hands over his face. Annalise all but threw herself on the ground as tears poured from her eyes. She’s never been more mortified in her life. She messed up the lyrics and everything as she stared at the audience and could feel Elvis’ unwavering anger near her. She’s never seen him this angry since they’ve been together.
“The most stupid, embarrassing humiliatin’ thing I ever did.” Scotty placed his guitar down and placed a hand on his hip. Like he was trying to keep his anger at bay but his words came out seething.
“WHAT THE HELL DO YOU WANT ME TO DO ABOUT IT?!”
“WE’RE MUSICIANS!” Scotty raised his hands up in disbelief. The yelling kept ramping up as Annalise tore off her dress behind one of the partitions and got back into her regular clothes as she tried to get between the two arguing men.
“PLEASE! Guys, let’s all just go home and forget about it! It’s been a long day,” the two began to pack up in silence as Annalise went to rub Elvis’ back,” you did great regardless, love.” Elvis froze but smiled softly. His anger still rampant in his eyes but clouded for the moment by his steady still trying to keep those tears in for him. He stopped a tear from falling down her cheek. He grabbed his bag and intertwined their fingers.
“I love you so much, darlin’.”
“I love you more, Elvis.
“Let’s go home, darlin’. Lord knows we need it.”
———————
Fans littered the entrance to Graceland as they made their way to the gates. Fans holding memorabilia dedicated to both of them. Saying they wanted the old them back on signs. Trying to pull at Elvis from outside the car. Annalise shrank herself down in the back. She’d never been out in the top down convertible with Elvis but at least she was in the back. She let Elvis go in first as she stood staring at the house once again.
“Where did I go wrong, Jimmie?” She shook her head and that’s when the yelling started. Where did the path divulge into this mess? She winced as she made her way through the door. It was always apparent when Gladys was drinking and when it was too much.
“It was the most embarrassing moment of my life, daddy.” Elvis was already laying down on the piano bench as she made her way in. Vernon waved her over but she stood awkwardly to the side of his chair.
“Those people were using you to poke fun at the whole South! Gettin’ a laugh at puttin’ a hillbilly in a tailcoat and singing to a dog! And then puttin’ my poor lil’ Annalise in that tragic white trash bag?!” Gladys walked away holding two bottles of beer in her hand.
“Damnit, mama. It was either that or get canceled! Then that’s it for television. Colonel says I’m running out of states that I’m welcome in. A-And they don’t pay unless I can perform.” Elvis began to sit up as he spoke. Annalise clung to the wall and tried her best to keep the tears in her eyes. She bit on the side of her cheek to keep from sobbing. She knew Gladys was drinking uncontrollably lately but it didn’t stop the fear that ran through her body as they fought. Was this Annalise’s fault? If he would’ve stayed with Dixie would this still be happening?
“Someone’s gotta think about keepin’ a roof over our heads.” Vernon said as he lit his cigarette. Annalise tried to cover her cough as he smoked.
“A roof over our head? We’ve always managed to keep a roof over our head, Vernon!” She said incredulously. She huffed and turned around again.
“Colonel has got us all of this!“ Elvis retorted. Annalise just wanted the fighting to end.
“I don’t want all of this! You’re unhappy!” She pointed at her son.
“I AM NOT!” Annalise flinched at his voice as Gladys slammed the table with her hands. The tears broke the dam she was trying so hard to keep closed. Vernon grabbed her hand and rubbed it in small circles as she fell to her knees. How was everything going wrong when it was so right a few hours before?
“You’re losing yourself booby! Look at Annalise! This isn’t the life you both need!” The two stare each other down as Vernon continued to comfort the shaking leaf that was Annalise. Gladys seeming to have a sober bit of empathy went to go towards the girl to comfort her but was interrupted by the group of guys running into the house.
“Don’t track mud in the house, Billy! Get out! Get out of my god damn house! Trailin’ mud in my house doin my damn head in,” he grabbed his coat and rubbed his temples,” Mama, you ain’t ever happy. No matter what I do. No matter how much I give ya. It ain’t ever enough. And I wish you would not drink so god damn much. It’s not good for ya!” He turned grabbing Annalise’s arm and pulling her up. He wiped her tears and took one last look at his mom before running out into the rain to his car. Annalise turns back, shocked.
“Booby! Wait!” Elvis picked Annalise up and she slid to the passenger side as Elvis hopped on after her. The engine roared to life and they whipped on out of there makin their way to the gates. Annalise panicked looking for something to hide her face. Elvis pulled her arm down. His eyes were afire in rage.
“No hidin’ now, Darlin’. I’ve got nothin’ left to lose.” The gates opened as Elvis pressed through the channels on the radio. He ignored the fans and flashing lights as he pulled out. Trying to outrun the cars he knew would follow. Annalise took a deep breath. The crisp air hitting her face and slowly relaxing her racing mind. What the hell happened to them?
————————
“Elvis, we’ll get killed if that damn Parker finds out we’re here!”The neon of Beale Street beginning to call her to the streets of her heart. She smiled but knew if they were caught that was the end of them. She could see B.B hanging out one of the windows of Club Handy. A crowd of people surrounded Elvis as he exited the car. He came around and once again picked up the shaking girl. He spun her around in his arms as people around them squealed and hollered. He placed a soft kiss to her lips and she finally smiled.
“Please, darlin’. I wanna just forget today. Let’s go have some fun, yeah?” He tilted her chin up with his finger. She nodded as she twirled around to talk to a group of women. The pair began signing autographs and hugging fans trying to make their way to the club doors.
“E.P.!”
“B.B.!”
The lovers make their way to Club Handy and finally breathe as they see the performer for the night. Annalise left B.B and Elvis to talk in the back as she went to the front. She danced with her dresser Betty-Ann and her daughter, Sally. Annalise hollered as Little Richard bent forward taking her hand. She fanned herself and giggled as the girls did the same.
“I saw your dress on the television the other day! Momma did a bang up job on ya, Miss Snow!” Sally clapped and rubbed her moms shoulder in support.
“Honestly, Miss Snow is one of my favorite customers. And not because of those way too big tips, lil thing.” Betty Ann grinned and spun around.
“I’ll always be your customer! Maybe when I get real famous I’ll hire you to be my personal wardrobe designer!” Betty-Ann jumped for joy and squealed. Her best customer and her against the world! She would’ve been delighted.
“And Sally can come with and do your hair, lovie! You better keep your promise, youngin’.” She pushed her shoulder and embraced her. The trio went back to dancing and continued to cheer on the performer. Annalise twirled and twisted. Her body intertwined with the music as the night went on. Forgetting about how awful the whole day had been.
“Hey, can I cut in? Time to dance with my star client! Right, little snow?” B.B wiggled his body, the girls snickering. B.B and Elvis made their way to the little group the girls had created. Elvis held her close and wanted nothing but her body as close as possible. With everything going on what if she was sent back to Louisiana? He didn’t even care about the jail time anymore. He cared about her being safe and in his care.
“Baby, I’m so sorry about all of this goin’ on. I-I want you safe and I-” She cut him off by grabbing his face, kissing him as hard as she could. Her lipstick staining his lips slightly. He stared down at her while B.B and the girls oooo’d. Annalise knew Elvis was overwhelmed and she knew he wouldn’t tell her that. She was going to be there for him like the good steady she was.
“Come on, Mister Presley,” his eyes seemed to darken,” dance with me why don’t ya?” His hands curled around her waist and she threw her head back in laughter. Their foreheads resting against each other as they danced.
Soon enough she’d find that picture in the paper along with the pair dancing with the others. What Annalise saw was a family and an amazing time. What the world saw was politics. The club started to wind down.
“There are strange things happenin’ everyday.”
Elvis and B.B went to the fire escape and she stayed to help clean up. She swayed to the music but all she could think of was the charity concert. She wasn’t allowed to perform at it after the police said it would put her in ‘danger’. She fought but was ultimately denied. She was told however she could sit in the front or the side by colonel.
“I’m worried, Miss Beth-Ann. I-I don’t know what I’d do if Elvis was put in jail.”
“You fight for him.”
“Fight?”
“You show those little white men who the hell they messed with, baby!”
Annalise nodded and picked up the cups on one of the tables. This was her boyfriend and she would do anything for him. Anything. To the ends of the Earth, Presley.

Austin Butler! Elvis x OC, Elvis x OC
Fighting Doesn’t Solve Anything, Chapter 5.
Summary: Annalise Snow is a girl that Hank Snow raised to be a good all American girl that all the other girls would want to be. Well when a boy that comes from the same Memphis Annalise missed…it turns out she’s a little more wild then she thought. Will she travel to the ends of the Earth with a boy she just met? Or will she be left in the dust?
Note: there’s a lot of breaking up of paragraphs in this I apologize y’all! But thank you all so much for 100 followers! I love all of you!!! 💕💕 I hope this chapter makes sense!
Warnings: angst, violence, Trouble scene, Colonel Tom Parker, mentions of leaving, and Gladys.
Annalise sat next to the trembling Elvis being escorted by officers. She could just feel the nerves pouring off her boyfriend. She kept thinking about what Beth-Ann had said, that she should fight for her and Elvis. Fight she was.
“The mayor loves you on the Steve Allen Show. All the important people did.” Colonel smiled to himself, proud. Annalise rolled her eyes and scoffed loudly. Fans clung to the car as they made their way to the stage.
“The fans are what’s important. They didn’t love it.” Annalise crossed her arms. Why did she ever leave Jimmie? They should’ve just run away like they planned when the pair were kids. The regrets kept piling and piling up as the pressure of the public eye crashed onto the lovers. They were just kids in an adult’s political world. What was she to do? Was she meant to be sitting next to Elvis? As an equal?
“What song are you going to sing tonight?” Annalise’s comment goes ignored by the arrogant bastard next to her. She turned to Elvis and his gaze still stared straight ahead.
“I’ve made no decision.” He answered coldly. His words hung in the silence of the car. The screaming fans were all that could be heard until, "I'll feel it.”
“Pay no attention to all the cameras. Those are all our friends. They don’t mean nothing,” Annalise felt an indescribable pit in her stomach as they got closer to the stage,” Ain’t that right, Chief?” The officer in the front turned around and a disgusting smirk sits on his lips. Annalise scoffs as he looks at Elvis.
“As long as you don’t so much as wiggle a finger.” His finger waggled in the air as the smirk never left his lips. Annalise placed a hand on Elvis’ thigh and gazed at him lovingly. He offered a soft smile in return as he put his hand over hers. The doors to the police car opened and Annalise felt as if the breath in her lungs was taken from her as she saw line upon line of police officers. She also saw the segregation ropes in the audience. She tried to turn to tell Elvis good luck but an officer took her arm harshly. She squeaked in surprise and Elvis huffed.
“Bad enough you wanna arrest me. Now you wanna take it out on my girl? Don’t touch her! You get your damn-” His protest is mute as Annalise disappeared into the crowd. Right in front, she stood waiting for whatever her boyfriend had planned. She hoped it would be the way he wanted it to be. However, she knew their entire lives hung in the balance. The officer clearly didn’t know how important she was as he left her almost immediately. She chuckled and started to wade her way through the fans who stopped her every so often.
“Oh, yes, sir, good people! A big thank you to shorty Morgan’s Dixie dolls! But I know some of the young people are very excited about this next act! Elvis Presley!” The crowd erupts into applause and Annalise can just see Gladys on the side. She wished she could’ve been sitting with them but she knew that this was Colonel’s punishment for her. To watch Elvis make his choice right in front of her face. The right choice.
“Just sing the nice song. Smile the nice smile. No wiggling. Then we can get back to our show business. And have fun, my boy! Fun!” Elvis knew what he had to do. Though he was terrified of what it would do to them. Elvis made his way to the stage and the crowd went ballistic. Annalise struggled to get out of the grasp of some of the fans as they jumped, hollered, and climbed. She tensed and decided maybe this was Hell after all. This was her repentance…oh lord.
“There’s been a lot of talk about the new Elvis,” the crowd booed and jeered. Annalise looked up at Elvis, his smile beaming back down at her, "And of course, that other guy.” His finger raised into the air as he wiggled it. Annalise felt the shot of adrenaline through her veins at the small action. She screamed and clapped as he did.
You ain’t nothin’ but a hound dog. Cryin’ all the time.
“Of course, you gotta listen to the people that you love. But in the end, you gotta listen to yourself. So I want you to know, those New York people ain’t gonna change me none!” He yelled into the mic. Annalise is pushed forward into an officer and her body becomes rigid. She was so proud of Elvis for standing up…but now he’d go to jail…
“I’m gonna show you what the real Elvis is like tonight!” The intro to his song Trouble rang through the stadium. Annalise pushed the officer to the side and got even closer to the stage. This was Elvis’ turn to shine for real. She’d be damned if she let some low-grade cop ruin it for her. The passion in Elvis’ moves sent a shock wave into the crowd as girls crammed into the front of the stage. They started to throw themselves onto the stage trying to touch Elvis or be as close as they ever could. Annalise found herself helping more fans to the front so they could get their chance.
“My middle name is misery.” His hand cupped Annalise’s chin and he winked as she screamed just like the rest of the girls there. She saw the flashes of the cameras and winced as she pulled back. That’s when she noticed the flimsy rope keeping the segregation line. She looked back up at Elvis as he continued to tear up the stage and she thought to herself, Colonel be damned. She tore down the rope easily and the separation became inclusion. She took a man’s arm and wrapped it around herself and began to dance with him. She soon spots Beth-Ann and Sally. She even signed a few autographs before the officers were coming at them with batons. She pushed some younger fans to get out and made eye contact with a crying Gladys. Annalise turned and could see officers piling on top of Elvis.
“Go, Annalise! I’ve got Sally! Go!” Beth- Ann’s skirt was torn as she pushed Sally behind her. Annalise nodded and let the pair go. Annalise took a deep breath as the flashing of cameras continued. She felt almost paralyzed until she heard her boyfriend yell. The animalistic tone broke her out of her mesmerizing daze.
“ELVIS! Shit! Get outta my way,” she pushed through the crowd, getting hit with them damn batons and shoved by people trying to run,” Elvis! Get off of him! Shit, he ain’t do nothin’!” She just made it to the stage when a particularly hard baton was shoved into her stomach. She yelped as chaos ensued around her. There were teenagers fighting back the police officers trying to keep them away from the pair. She fell to the ground trying to think how she’d get out.
“Annalise!! Elvis!! Get away from my babies!” Annalise could hear the horrified tone of Gladys’ voice but her daze began to cloud her again. Jimmie, what did she get herself into? She tried to get back up only to be pushed down again. She could hear the jingle of handcuffs but she couldn’t feel anything.
“HEY! Get the hell off of her! Get off of my Anna! Annalise,” she could hear the panting above her and her eyes focused on Elvis as officers tried to pull him away, "Get your goddamn hands off of me! Baby, listen to me. Hey, I love you, okay? Find my mama.” A barely soft kiss is the last thing she saw of Elvis as he was carried off into the police car they rode in earlier. Vernon finally gets to her and helped up the sobbing girl. The handcuffs on her hung from one wrist. Elvis must have stopped them from arresting her.
“Elvis!”
“Get in the car mama!“
“I-I gotta get Elvis outta there, Mr. Presley. I have to-“ Annalise winced as Vernon pulled her to the car. She felt like she got hit by a damn train. Annalise watched in horror as they shoved Elvis into the back of the car. Fans chased the car and she started to tear up. This is what they meant to the fans. The ones who truly cared for them.
“You ain’t gotta do nothin’. We’ll get Elvis back, sweetheart. Just not you if you don’t get in the damn car.” Tears brimmed at her eyes as she sat with Gladys in the back seat. What went wrong? Why Elvis?
———————-
“What do you mean I can’t see her? Colonel, I swear to the lord above if you try to keep her from me- so help me god!” Elvis ran his hands through his hair as he placed his guitar on the ground.
“I got you out of prison time, Mister Presley!”
“By sending him to Germany for two years!” Gladys threw her hands into the air. She placed her head in her hands. Annalise stood in the shadows as some cop escorts packed her bags.
“Vernon, they are poking into your background.” Annalise and Elvis froze. The both of them turn to the Colonel. Annalise knew he was the one doing this…she KNEW. But what the hell could she say to Elvis to make him believe her?
“We don't have nothin' to be ashamed of!”
“My daddy’s a good man.”
“Yes, yes. But your papa did go to jail,” he simply shrugged as Elvis felt his heartbeat quicken. Why was this happening to him? What did he do wrong, “You know them, and their flashy headlines.”
"Elvis, The Draft Dodger."
"A Family of Delinquents."
“Annalise Snow, Colored Manager.”
“We may never book another date, or sell another record again. And my way of thinking, the army could be a brand new start for all of us. Let them cut your hair.” Elvis stared in front of himself as he thought. Maybe it was the easiest option and he’d always wanted to be in pictures. So did Annalise..
“Prove to the world that you are a clean-cut, all-American boy.”
“You do your two years, and when you come back, I promise you.”
“I will have done everything I can to make you the biggest actor in Hollywood.”
Gladys didn’t look impressed and Annalise wasn’t either. They both knew Elvis wasn’t a criminal and was just doin’ what he loved. He didn’t deserve this. This was gonna kill this family.
“It's gonna be okay, Mama.” Elvis wrapped his arms around his mother. Annalise kept her hand on her mouth as the police escorts shushed her. She was to have no contact with Elvis as long as he stayed in the country.
“W-Well, then if you take Elvis…I want Annalise. She’s a piece of my baby.” She sniffled as Elvis rubbed her back. Annalise could feel the dam of tears break as they ran hotly down her cheeks.
“Please, Colonel. It’s all I’ll ask of you. I need her to stay here for my family. For Graceland.” His blue eyes looked empty as if his life was stolen right from them. The Colonel sighed and twirled his cane around. The police escorts brought Annalise to the front of the fireplace. Elvis dropped to his knees in front of her, grabbing at her legs as they both sobbed. He gripped her close as if she’d disappear if he let go.
“E-Elvis, I’m so sorry. I can’t stay they won’t let me.” She smoothed his hair down as he held her tighter. Annalise held his chin in her hands.
“Please, baby. Please stay. I’ll beg. I need you to stay. I’m gonna write you every damn day. Just stay, damnit.” Elvis’ voice was wavering and deep. Cracking with every word as if he was scared to say them. The Colonel looked on in disgust as he rubbed his hands over his cane.
“Elvis, you gotta let me go. I-I gotta prove y’all ain’t brainwashin’ me. I promise I’ll be back to take care of your parents. I promise with my entire soul that I’ll take care of them. I ain’t gonna go to Louisiana. You’re my home.” She watched as he got off his knees and a sad smile graced his face. He left a soft kiss on her lips and kept his hand caressing her face. His hand shook upon her cheek.
“I love you so much, Annalise Snow.”
“And I love you, Elvis Presley.”
—————————-
“I heard from the Colonel that he met a real nice girl there. I told Elvis when I called he better not be strayin’. Damn kid.” Annalise chuckled as she stirred the pot on the stove.
“Her name is Priscilla? I think? She seems like a sweet lil’ thing. She answered the phone the other night and I swear she was sweatin’ like a sinner in church, Vernon.” Vernon’s laugh echoed in the kitchen.
“You know he ain’t gonna jeopardize your love, Anna. Cause he knows how much we love ya.” He tried to hide the open lock on the liquor cabinet behind him as you went to check it.
“Vernon! This ain’t gonna excuse you god damnit! I told you to stop letting her get into the damn liquor! Ugh!” Annalise stopped cooking the dinner she was making and started to set the table. She put the lock back onto the liquor cabinet and sighed. The drinking was only getting worse no matter how many doctors she hired to Graceland for Gladys. She was at her wits end.
“Hey, you tell that woman no. It’s a lot harder than you think.” Annalise chuckles as Vernon settles in the dining room and Grandma Minnie makes her way down the stairs.
“I-I left some food in front of her room, dear. She said she’d be down after supper to call Elvis with ya.” Minnie placed a kiss on Annalise’s head as they ate. She really worked hard over this dinner since it was Gladys’ favorite. Though nothing seemed to bring her more joy than hearing Elvis on the phone. Annalise understood but it still hurt that Gladys didn’t want to even want to have their girl nights as they used to when Elvis was gone at concerts. She felt lost and she only returned to Graceland to help Gladys with the housework.
“Thanks so much, Vernon. I can finish the dishes.” Annalise reached for the soap and Vernon pulled her hand away.
“Ah ah, young lady. Gotta keep them nails pretty for when that ring gets on that finger.” Vernon used the soap to cover his own wedding ring. She slapped him on the back slightly.
“I’m gonna go check on Gl-“ A thud breaks the happy atmosphere. Annalise drops the glass in her hand and runs not caring about if she stepped on a single shard. A mumbling limp Gladys is on the side of the stairs. She screams as Vernon runs to his wife’s side.
“Call 911! Gladys? Darlin’?” Annalise’s hand shook as the phone connected to a responder.
“I need everyone- anyone to Graceland now!“
—————-
It didn’t take long for the rumors of Elvis Presley’s mama being dead. No one hardly ever came out of Graceland after the news. Annalise told all the boys to stay away from the house while she shook at the thought of calling Elvis. Vernon was a mess and Colonel was…disgusting. Telling Annalise and the family that the press deserved to know what happened to the poor boy’s mama.
“Hello, Priscilla, may I speak to a Mister Elvis Presley?”
“Who is this may I ask? There’s always fans callin’ in from all over.”
“Miss Annalise Snow callin’ from Graceland, honey. It’s mighty important.”
“Elvis! Your pretty girls on the phone again!“ Annalise could hear the excited shuffling of his boots on the hardwood floor in the background. She smiled and couldn’t remember when the tears started to roll down her cheeks.
“There’s my favorite girl! I-I been waitin’ for your call for awhile, Darlin’. I-I heard I get to go home early for- for an emergency. Um the sooner I get you in my arms-“ A sob broke through the receiver as Elvis rambled. He flinched and held a hand against his heart.
“El-Elvis. It’s-“
“Darlin’ if someone hurt you I swear to the lord I’ll be there right now-“
“No, Elvis. It’s your mama.”
“Someone hurt my mama?!”
“Elvis…”
“Annalise…no,” the realization hit Elvis like a freight train and he fell to his knees. The phone white knuckled in his grasp,” she’s not-“
“She is Elvis…I’m so sorry, baby. I should’ve watched her more. Oh my god I can’t. I-I love you. I-I can’t do this.
“Anna-“
Silence. Elvis was in silence as he processed. So was Annalise as she packed for a trip to Louisiana after the funeral. She really should’ve listened to Jimmie when they were younger. That it was the two of them against the world. Because with Elvis…she feels as if the ends of the earth are too far for the lovers to reach. That she was keeping him from his fullest potential. They just needed a small break while he was in Germany. Would he find someone else during his stay?
“ My dearest, Annalise. You are my stars and my night sky. Keep the bed warm for me. Don’t forget to call.” The words of his many letters in the past two months haunted and echoed in her head as she stared into their shared bedroom. Who was she kidding? She wanted Elvis and she’d never give him up. Though she felt useless and abandoned, she HAD to be there for him for the burial.
————————-
“You get the hell away from him! You bastard,” her voice was hush as people were in mourning,” you sent me into a press nightmare, Parker! The Presley’s are grieving! Let them be!” She seethed as the Colonel shrugged his shoulders, smiling.
“The press just want to know the Presley’s are okay-“
“Is that A-Annalise,” she could hear the hiccups of her exhausted boyfriend. That damn Parker probably lied him outta that damn closet. She wanted him to have time with his mama’s spirit in peace,” Let me hold you, lil mama. Please let me feel you. I-I gotta know you’re real.” His arms wrapped around her as she sat on his lap over looking his mother. She looked gorgeous even in death. She was so cared for. Elvis closed his eyes as his body shook with every gasp and gag. Annalise pulled his head to rest on her chest as she soothed him. She played with his hair as his body continued to quiver.
“Shhh, I know baby. I know. You gotta take a deep breath alright? For me and mama,”he took a deep breath as his eyes shone big and glossy…like a child,” good. Just like that, handsome. Just like that. I got you. I ain’t goin’ nowhere, baby. “ Elvis nestled into her chest as close as he possibly could.
“Don’t wanna talk to no press. Wanna stay here with you and mama forever. No going back to Germany. No fans. Just you and mama.” She shushed him as his cries quieted slowly. Annalise sighed as she fixed his hair. She felt almost selfish as she wanted the same thing. She wanted Elvis all to herself and to never let him go.
“Baby, you have to go back. Or it’s jail time. W-We got this, El. It’s okay. I’m gonna be with you-“
“Colonel told me he was sendin’ you to Louisiana.” Vernon looked aghast as he held both of the lovers hands. Elvis tensed underneath his girlfriend and gripped her closer to him. She had canceled her trip knowing she had to take care of the house and Elvis. When did Colonel even find out?
“I-I proved I wasn’t brainwashed. I-I can’t leave Elvis. I can’t leave Graceland.” The pallbearers begin to enter the house and the press got louder as the Colonel pushed the trio out into the vultures. Elvis took her hand as his body continued to shake. She had to get rid of the Colonel. What the hell was that damn Colonel doing?
————————-
“I’m going back to Graceland, daddy! I ain’t standing for this shit talkin’ about MY Elvis!! This so god damn stupid! I’m a woman now!“ Annalise slammed her suitcase on her childhood bed as her father groaned.
“No swearin’ in my house! You ain’t raised that way!”
“I was hardly raised at all, daddy! You always had us on tour with ya! And you'd leave mama home alone! I barely know her! Elvis just lost his damn mama and I need to be there for when he gets back!”
“Annalise Petunia Snow-“
“No! You don’t get it! I came here for Jimmie! Not y’all! I can’t believe I stayed this long! I’m going back to MY home!”
“With that washed up-“ A smack echoes in the hallway. Her father held his cheek as his wife glared at him. Annalise gasped and stopped her packing.
“Hank! You promised to try!  You-” She’s interrupted by hank sniffling.
“I don’t want our kids followin’ in my footsteps. The road and fame kills love. And that Presley boy will kill her heart.”
“Daddy-”
“Go home, sweetie. Just know we’re a call away.” He gave her a hug as Jimmie pulled up his truck.
“I know it don’t seem like it but he’s been trying to support y’all. He heard about that charity concert and you gettin’ hurt so I think he was just bein’ protective, Ann.” Jimmie explained as he helped her into the truck. She smoothed her dress skirt down and sighed.
“I know but this whole trip made me realize somethin’, Jimmie.” She gazed out her window at the many farms they passed. Watching the cows graze and the horses run.
“What’s that, Ann?”
“I want Elvis. I can’t live without him. I need Graceland. That’s my family.”
“As long as I’m invited to y’all’s family Christmas parties, I don’t mind at all. And maaaaaybe an autograph.” Annalise laughed as she turned on the radio.
“Elvis Presley returns from the War! Hear his interview at 1 o’clock sharp, chicks! We’ll be playin’ all things Elvis in preparation of his return!” Annalise covered her mouth in surprise.
“I forgot his return date! I’ve been in Louisiana only a couple months!“
“Ann, you’ve been here for 9 months!” Her eyes widened and she rubbed her hands over her face.
“Oh my god, Jimmie! I’m so damn stupid! And I haven’t called Vernon in weeks! They’re not gonna want me there!“
“It’s a 5 hour drive, Ann,” He stepped on the pedal a little harder,” I’ll get you there before noon!” She squealed as the wind blew through her hair. She was going to get over herself and finally be there for Elvis. She just needed to be there for herself first.
“To the rock of eternity, Mister Presley!”
