I got the dog collar and put it on Astarion, I put it on everyone to see their reaction to the button, bc of course I did, and turned in for a long rest right after that to find him looking for round two with Elendria. I knooow it was triggered with some approval changes but the timing was very funny to me. Put you in a vibrating dog collar and you’re dtf again. Okay, Astarion, I see you.
Also the mess of emotions El had during that ‘flattery’ scene. Like being sure she shouldn’t like being called ‘little treat’ so much and yet there definitely a reason he’s feeding in her every night and its not just outta the kindness of her heart. And the half second of shock/panic when he says ‘I love you’. All these thoughts going through her head like: ‘wait what I thought we were being silly’, ‘no no no, not you too. Too soon.’ ‘Oh, he’s lying, we’re still silly’ and ‘why am I minorly disappointed… hmm, let’s worry about that never.’
Unrelated to Astarion, I didn’t realize Halsin wouldn’t join the party yet. I kicked Gale outta the group only to be let down 😞. Alright Gale you can sit with the cool kids again. I’m sure Shadowheart gives El such shit for her change of heart with Gale. But it’s not her fault. All she did was be be herself and his approval is like max. Reel it in, dude. She was kinda interested but now….

I might as well post some pictures of my babe. Oh I love her so much.
Elendria Khalazza, chaotic good, 140 years old
Absolutely didn’t need to but I came up with some back story. Pulling from familiarity with my old campaign, El was born to a priestess of Eilistraee in the Promenade of the Dark Maiden. The only thing she knew about her father was he’s a High elf adventurer who had an unfortunate run in with some Lolth-Sworn Drow and was saved by some of the temple’s clerics.
When the Promenade was attacked in 1368 her mother made sure Elendria was among those that made it to safety at the cost of her own life. After that Elendria was raised in Waterdeep by the small community of worshippers that had also escaped the attack.
When Eilistraee returned in the 1480s, while many of those in her ‘family’ sought to build a temple in the city, Elendria joined those returning to the Underdark to reclaim the Promenade. It was during this time she decided to fully devote herself in service to Eilistraee as one of her clerics. Her training reintroduced her to an old friend of her mother who was shocked to learn she’d grown up in Waterdeep and not Baldur’s Gate with her father.
Apparently her mother had kept in touch with him and as the threats towards the Promenade grew she had been making plans to move to Baldur’s Gate. This was all news to Elendria and while she was curious her duty to her Goddess came first. Her training and the restoration of the Promenade were priority. It was only after restoration was completed in 1491 that she started planning her trip to satisfy her curiosity about the other half of her lineage.
She’s a sweetie, got a bleeding heart. Fully stands by show kindness too all, especially in response to rudeness. The quote “Be nice, until it’s time to stop being nice, then destroy them.” is extremely applicable. She’s fiercely protective of those in her care, much to Astarion’s surprise. Shadowheart too, I don’t imagine a worshipper of Shar would expect such acceptance from someone who’s deity is kind of an ally of Selune.

The emotional breakdown Elendria is overdue for though. My gods. She is such a ‘i have to at least try to save everyone’ self sacrificing mother hen of a person and just left and right it’s more shit.
Oh Gale’s ex/the literal Goddess of magic wants him to blow himself up to ‘destroy the heart of the Absolute’, Astarion is *waves hands* all that. I’m actually glad there’s the scene of him trying to feel out his scars because Elendria isn’t one to pry and so hadn’t asked about them. Anyway. Karlach’s going to burn out if she doesn’t go back to Avernus. Wyll has to ‘sit. shake. roll over.’ like a good boy or he’s yeeted to Hell.
And it just keeps coming. She’s damn tired but grinning and bearing it. And she’ll keep helping. Always helping helping… helping.
