Fight Club Pro Infinity

I decided to start writing again, now I’m attending more shows, and it’s a huge passion of mine so I enjoy it. It’s been a while since PnR was active, it’s about time we got back online. Sit back, put the kettle on & let’s roll.

Friday night took us to The Hangar Events venue in Wolverhampton for Fight Club Pros annual Infinity tournament, usually contested for a trophy but this years, is for the championship, with the belt being vacated last month by Dunkzilla Mark Davis. This is the first show without Dunk & his stable Schadenfreude so a change bound to be noticed in the card.

First up in the ring we see Eddie Kingston squaring off against DAN! Dan Malony, which on paper should’ve been a good opener but it turns into just being there to warm up the audience. Heavy punching from Kingston, Hard kicks from Malony & a few high spot type moves thrown in for good measure. All in all, an average affair which sees Dan progressing to the main event with a victory.

Second match in, we see what many believe looking at the card was match of the night between Cara Noir &Jordan Devlin. We most certainly were not disappointed here, with everything and more being left in the ring by both men. Not many can match NXT UK star Devlin move for move but BritWres’s new poster boy Noir lives up to the challenge. A Devlin victory after a close encounter, sees him being the second man to progress to the final.

Match number 3 then sees Trent Seven’s open challenge answered by Yorkshire’s up & coming rising star Joe Nelson. Nelson the one to watch for the future here vs the old guard in Moustache Mountains Seven. Joe you get the feeling going into this was trying to prove his worth in Fight Club, a kind of ‘first big challenge’ type of deal & he deals well with the pressure of a big match, at times looking like he might get the upset on Seven but it’s Trent who gets the victory to become man number 3 in the final.

With 1 main event spot left to fill, we see a 6 person scramble match for the final place. The six men being; Carlos Romo, Conner Mills, fight clubs staple boy Clint Margera, Cheif Deputy Dunne from the Anti Fun Police & big name on the card for the evening Orange Cassidy of AEW fame. It’s hard in these types of matches to keep track of the action in ring, which is why sometimes they get lost on me but this had just the right amount of outside the ring spots & near falls in to keep interest. Cassidy hitting his famous casual headbutt from the top rope is something I for one hope to see again in FCP soon, as it’s both comedy gold & great ring work. But in the end, the final spot in the main event goes to FCP original Chuck Mambo. A few high spots here and there in this contest, keeps it interesting.

After a half time break, we get into tag team action and see Travis Banks & Omari take on Mooight Express, in what was promised to be a fast paced, high flying affair. The team of Banks & Omari working well together to get the victory in what was a mile a minute contest. If you like your flips & kicks, this is for you.

Next up on the card we see Meiko Satomura facing Millie Mckenzie. Yes it was as good as it looks on paper, yes they used every move under the sun & YES it was pure pro wrestling at its best. Meiko of course no stranger to FCP, really taking to the British Strong Style approach well against Millie, who is probably one of the best grapplers out there today. Watch this match in all its glory when it’s put up online you won’t be disappointed. Like every contest though there has to be a winner, Meiko Satomura walking away here with that privilege.

After another quick break to judge the annual Halloween Infinity costume contest, we get of course to tonights main event which is the four way for the vacant title. On paper, you’d look at the four finalists & say the man first eliminated was actually the favourite to win, as Jordan Devlin is first gone. Second, joining him backstage in defeat is Chuck Mambo (Mamboooo!) leaving Drilla Dan Malony & Trent Seven to battle it out for the belt. After one or two near misses, and many ouch moments to the exposed floor outside the ring, Dan Malony walks away as FCP Champion. Well deserved for the man who’s been with the company long term, plus it eliminates the issues of NXTUK talent in UK promotions.

At the end of the day, it was a good night. Some great matches, some excitement and many many high kicks and chops. Until next time dear reader, this is PunkNRasslin.

Biography

Infancy (0-3): Amanda Bardsley was born on May 25, 1980 to Phyllis and Henry Bardsley. Amanda received some attention from her parents and Aunt Eddie.

Childhood (4-12): Amanda spent most of her childhood in the company of her Aunt Eddie, a retired dragonologist, and her brothers Louis, Abbott and Thomas. According to Amanda, her brother’s taught her how to stand up for herself, and left her out of a lot of their activities which would result in a swift kick in their knees. She was often scolded by her Aunt Eddie for her behaviour, but continued to do so up ‘til her time at Hogwarts. When Ron Weasley called her a cheater, she kicked him in the knee. Later, Amanda apologized after beating up Draco on her way to detention and befriended Ron and Harry. Afterwards, she started a friendship with the twins over how to get back at Draco for bullying other students, and befriended Hermione after apologizing for calling her a know it all. The twins begin mocking her brothers.

Development

Personal: Amanda Bardsley begins her life at Hogwarts as a enthusiastic, violent young girl with no care for the consequences of her actions. According to her, the only reason she didn’t want detention was because “it took away from her homework time.” The twins teach her how to prank Draco in her first year, which redirects Amanda’s violence somewhat. Through these “lessons” Amanda becomes good friends with Fred and George, and is, as a result, often invited to stay with the Weasley’s over break and holidays. She starts receiving the famous Weasley Christmas sweater in her second year.

Amanda’s violent tendencies lessen over the course of the series though they never disappear. During the latter part of the series, she uses her wand occasionally outside of the classroom, and favors punching people in the face. Fred, George and other members of the Order of Phoenix help her with her wand skills prior to the Battle of Hogwarts. In the future, she will give these extra lessons and the help she received as a part of Dumbledore’s Army credit for her survival of the Battle of Hogwarts.

She has a tendency to babble when she’s a child at random moments. Over the course of the series, it also dims until the babbling comes out when she’s nervous or angry.

Amanda continues to challenge anyone who opposes her, and does so often with friends. Amanda and Fred are often challenging each other (he loves a challenge too. I didn’t know this until I read about it. That was long after I decided to add it to Amanda’s profile). During the D.A meeting, she sends a male student flying after he accuses her of cowardice when she refuses to duel him. Through all this, Amanda also continues to be bold. During Order of the Phoenix, she successfully pranks Argus Filch, members of the Inquisitorial Squad, and on occasion, Dolores Umbridge. After her close friends, Fred and George Weasley, leave the school she reaches out to other students and encourages them to be bold.

Amanda never loses her enthusiasm. But is rather lonely at school without Fred and George in her sixth and seventh year. George starts an “owl mail conversation” with her which he continues to do when she returns to Hogwarts in the 1998/1999 school year after the defeat of Voldemort. He and Fred buy her an owl for Christmas in her sixth year when her owl, Newt, pasess away suddenly a month before Christmas. The loss devastated her. She breaks down when she sees the new owl, stating “she never thought anyone would do anything this nice for her” and that “she had been having a terrible year and the owl made her feel better.” She throws her arms around George as she sobs. Fred makes fun of them for this for the rest of his days (AAAAA D’:). She named the bird Gred, a nickname the twins came up with in their third year when they received sweaters from their mother without the usual initials on them. It is noted that Amanda spent a lot of time with Fred and George over the holiday, though more with George. She never tells the twins that she’s lonely, though she suspected they knew anyway.

Amanda also loses her aunt in her sixth year. It takes her a very long time to get over this loss since her Aunt raised her because her parents remained focused on their careers. She leaves school temporarily to go to the funeral. George and Fred and Mr. and Mrs. Weasley along with some members of the Order of the Phoenix attend. This is the first time George holds her hand. It catches her off guard, but she does not push him away and this surprises her. She returns to the Burrow with Ron, Ginny and Thomas after Dumbledore’s death because she and her brother have nowhere to go.

The decision to join the Order of the Phoenix is not made until after the eight Harry’s. Amanda is devastated when George loses his ear and blames herself. She feels like if she had been there, she could’ve done something to help. Combining this with all development, she makes the natural choice to join the Order. On the morning of Bill’s wedding, George and Amanda kiss for the first time. She stays in hiding with George and Fred and the Weasley’s since she’s seventeen and no longer has the trace, and is a member of the Order. She spends extra time improving her charms and enunciation of spells, and reflexes.

Amanda returns to Hogwarts to fight the Battle at Hogwarts. She barely survives. She is devastated when she loses her brother, Thomas, and Fred Weasley.

Social: Hogwarts is the first time Amanda has friends who don’t ask her about her father. In the beginning, she avoids people who ask her about her father before getting to know her. She felt like people didn’t see her under as remnants of her father’s success.. Eventually, she uses the questioning to channel more friendships, and begins starting conversations and making more friends. Amanda also develops boldness minus her feelings for George which she keeps to herself until her sixth year when she finally tells Ginny. This is one of the few times she feels nerves, because her reasoning for keeping it a secret is to “avoid any kind of embarrassment.” She’s very disappointed when George doesn’t ask her to the ball in her fourth year, and stays only a short while because she doesn’t like dancing or parties.

During her fourth year, Amanda develops a crush on George. She brushes it off at first, as she had fleeting crushes on some of her other friends.

Physical: Amanda is described as short with bobbed black hair, big eyes and small hands. She grows a lot during the series. By the last book, her hair is halfway between the waist and her shoulder, and her big brown eyes are small. Her round face makes her look like she’s twelve. Her left leg is badly wounded from the events at the Battle of Hogwarts, and she retains a nasty scar.
