No one asked about Ranboo in the dsop au specifically, but I’m going to talk about him before i get to the ask about peer pressure duo so that i don’t have to explain every aspect of him that i have in that answer now that i think i have a more complete look at him. So like. In this AU Ranboo is the result of a science experiment. He’s the natural progression of devil fruit research by the world government following artificial devil fruit research and cloning. They made him in a lab attempting to find out if someone could be Created with a devil fruit power without needing the fruit itself. If they could manipulate the genome in the lab to simulate the manipulation a devil fruit does of the dna sequence to give a person abilities. I’m not sure what exactly Ranboo’s two halves are yet, and Ranboo doesn’t really know what they are either. Neither are human.  But they’d tried with the zoan fruit first like all the SMILE fruits had been, and it altered half his body into. something else. (I have considered originally cat mink, and the devil fruit they tried to replicate again being the dragon fruit like they keep trying for in one piece canon. Making him a cat dragon of sorts.) It was a failure. They tried for the paramecia in the next set of experiments.  Ranboo doesn’t remember any of this. For all he knows he woke up on shore one day. Somewhere unfamiliar. scared out of his wits. But eventually he found a home, he found a family. He desperately wants this to last. And part of him is terrified that it wont. He’s not sure why. He sees flashes sometimes. He thinks they’re dreams even though he doesn't sleep. Much later down the line. On the peer pressure plot line. Ranboo ends up wanted. (Techno quietly thinks it’s his fault. Ranboo hasn’t done anything to make him wanted by the government for so much so quickly. That they must want him because they’ve been traveling together and feels a measure of guilt about that because it’s kinda his fault Ranboo had to take to sea in the first place). Ranboo gets the feeling he knows why they want him. He Just Cant Remember. The flashes turn out to be memories. (Infosec ranboo real.) The devil fruit they successfully altered him to have is the memo-memo fruit. The memory altering fruit. Which means ranboo can pull out people’s memories like a film reel and watch it, he can cut out entire sections and stitch it back together. He can Make people forget things. That was how he eventually escaped. He used the power to make the key parties involved and privy to the project forget about him. And then he made himself forget everything he did for the government in that time before his escape and that he even had the power to begin with. But he failed to erase the entire paper trail. And when the government starts to notice this guy who’s traveling with Notoriously Wanted Criminal Technoblade. They realize. That guy matches the description of the top secret missing project none of us can remember. And they Want Him Back. Because there are a lot of things an authoritarian world government with a lot of secrets can do with a guy that has a power like that.  And the thing about his artificial fruit is that it’s not perfect. He’d cut out his own memories and stored them away in another part of his brain like a mental “memory book” because he didn’t want to discard them entirely. And sometimes a memory leaks through, sometimes the memories all come back entirely. They never quite fit back in perfectly. But he always stuffs it all back into the recesses of his mind to forget again anyway. So that he doesn't know what he knows, what he’s done, what he’s hiding from himself or how. And that was by design because Ranboo’s been doing it to himself. No one can know if No One Remembers, not even himself. (But doomed are those who try to run for it always catches up eventually.) On top of this, Ranboo actually has a second devil fruit he gets during the plot before he Really finds out about the memory altering ability. Now. In the OP universe, people cant have more than 1 devil fruit. You die if you eat a second. Unless you’re one specific character who managed to do it and not die. And it was something about his biological make up that made it possible. something about how he never sleeps, he lives twice the life of anyone else, something about him is different we dont have all the answers yet. But I decided Ranboo also gets to be special boy. He can have two devil fruits as a treat. He can double not be able to touch water. But another in universe explanation for why he can have two powers is that the authentic devil fruit treated the artificial power like an Innate Ability because it did not come from a devil fruit. Treating it as just something he could do. I haven’t really settled on the second devil fruit only that it makes for good bonding time between him and techno as techno helps him learn how to use it along with other combat abilities. I’m thinking maybe. Like. some adaptation of what Inazuma has going on, where they can basically just cut up solid objects with scissors and manipulate them like cloth. It’s a bizarre cartoonish ability. But i think it would be fun if Ranboo could just do that with his hands. Manipulate the terrain by shoving his hands into the dirt and lifting. And that his power could also impact the density of what he’s lifted for as long as it is in his hands, regaining its original density once he’s released it. but idk second devil fruit is still up in the air. Discussion of what the second devil fruit is aside, he’s sure the memory thing is Something Else. Because. it cant be a devil fruit. He just ate one of those and you cant have more than one. Something else has to be going on. But it’s not. and the instability of having two devil fruits kinda is what kick starts it all. When the second devil fruit comes in to alter the genome it fucked with the code of the first devil fruit power they gave him, making it more unstable without being consciously controlled and because he Doesn’t Remember He Has it that is impossible. So it starts to fail. And memories start leaking through en masse. But i think i will leave that here bc i need to go to bed. And i will save the other ranb stuff for rambling about peer pressure duo.

Okay okay so some of what i have so far in terms of like character origins and abilities

Technoblade- so like one of the most obvious options would be that he’s a Mink, a race of anthropomorphic beings exclusively derived from mammals. He’d be a boar or pig mink ofc in that case. Beefy pigman. But. I do think it would be very fun if he were just a pig that ate the human human fruit a la Chopper. He is a piggie he can turn into a pigman. There are fun narrative benefits to both. The minks, under a direct full moon, unlock a powerful form (called Sulong) that is significantly stronger and faster than they are already and it takes proper training to learn to control the form. It does have draw backs in that using the form for too long leads to exhaustion or even death. Minks also as a race can also use like static electric shock abilities. They are trained from the moment they can walk how to defend themselves. (Also when you live in a place lead by a couple dudes named Catviper and Dogstorm Technoblade fits right in lmao) Human human fruit techno though you get both just a piggie techno and big beefie hybrid techno in the same character because shapeshifter pog. Plus the narrative potential of the zoan awakened state coming into play and the struggles with controlling it. Plus i think c!techno could find a lot of humor in being just a pig who ate the human fruit. If he were a mink i would say he doesnt have a devil fruit but being a mink means that is in the cards for him so that’s also unlockable narrative potential even if he doesnt have one at the start. I am torn.

Philza- he’d be a sky person. The residents of the sky islands are descended from a race of winged people who lived on the moon before being forced to take refuge on earth as resources on the moon dried up, leaving behind their automata. As a result of the passage of time various regions of the sky islands have different wing shapes and sizes. Though there is also evidence these wing size and shape variations may have also existed in some variation when the sky people’s ancestors still lived on the moon. The residents of skypeia and the ancient city of shandora for example have small vestigial wings while the residents of Birka have Big Wings. We havent seen any of them actually use those wings though but idc i’d let Phil fly with those. Granted the island of Birka was completely destroyed and the people largely massacred during religious infighting started by a guy with a devil fruit and a god complex. I brought up the automata earlier though because that one fanart of phil making brian as an automaton lives rent free in my brain and it would just be a cool idea that some of the knowledge of how to make the automata managed to survive and get passed down through the generations and Phil can make them and is a tinkerer. But it would also be fun if Philza was a zoan type devil fruit user making him a bird person shapeshifter but that runs the risk of oversaturating the au with zoan type users and i’d rather explore more of the variety one piece has to offer.

Tubbo - goat zoan. Hands down. That would be up his alley. i think he could rock it. I just really like the idea. I have no other justifications.

Tommy - seems like he’s be Just A Dude. We some Just A Dudes in this AU i am open to suggestions but tommy has just a dude vibes.

Charlie - would be a slime logia ofc. And he’s be like the fucking piece of shit mud guy where like. He can just shove things into his body and store them there and it’s like a bottomless pit he’s got so much stuff stored inside him. He’s like one of those slime fridges except you cant see what he’s got in the bottomless void that is his magic slime body.

Sam - there is a very easy parallel to be made here. One Piece’s World Government has an impenetrableTM and inescapableTM prison where inmates get tortured relentlessly that is run by a strict warden with strong black and white morals. You pickin up what i’m puttin down? Additionally there is this guy who has a devil fruit where he can turn any part of himself into a bomb (it’s very wacky in traditional op fashion) so like. That is an option for Sam devil fruit wise but i will have to think on it more and see if i can come up with more options.

This is getting long so i’ll stop right there for right now on this post but this is some of what i have generated about some of the characters so far
