RCA INSPIRATION CELEBRATES MULTIPLE NOMINATIONS IN EIGHT CATEGORIES FOR THE 2021 GMA DOVE AWARDS

RCA Inspiration celebrates over ten nominations for song and album releases at the upcoming 52nd Annual GMA Dove Awards. The nominations span artist releases in eight categories, with hit artists Kirk Franklin (Fo Yo Soul/RCA), Marvin Sapp, Travis Greene, Koryn Hawthorne, Mali Music, Kelontae Gavin, DOE, Melvin Crispell, III, and All Nations Music garnering nods in artist, song, and album categories. Top categories include Song of the Year nominations for two songs performed by Koryn Hawthorne and Marvin Sapp, and two Gospel Artist of the Year nominations, for Kirk Franklin and Travis Greene. The remaining nominations span the genres of Contemporary Gospel, Traditional Gospel, and Gospel Worship.

Separately, Kirk Franklin also garnered a Song of the Year nomination and a Pop/Contemporary Recorded Song of the Yearnomination as a writer on the track he recorded with for King & Country, “Together” (feat. Kirk Franklin & Tori Kelly), as well as a Songwriter of the Year (Artist)nomination.

The 52nd Annual GMA Dove Awards will be held on Tuesday October 19th, 2021 at Allen Arena in Nashville, TN, and air on Friday October 22nd, 2021 on TBN. Recognizing the range of Christian and Gospel music and entertainment, the Gospel Music Association’s (GMA) Dove Awards honor Contemporary Christian and Gospel to Rap/Hip Hop, Rock, Pop/Contemporary, Inspirational, Spanish Language, Worship, Film and more.

52nd Annual GMA Dove Award Nominees Announced

(Nashville, Tenn. (August 11, 2021) – The Gospel Music Association is pleased to announce nominees for the 52nd Annual GMA Dove Awards. Top nominations include Steven Furtick with ten (10) nominations, Chris Brown with nine (9), Wayne Haun with eight (8), seven (7) nominations each for Elevation Worship and Brandon Lake, six (6) to for KING & COUNTRY and five (5) nods to CeCe Winans, Ed Cash, Tiffany Hammer (Hudson) and Zach Williams. Voted on by the GMA Professional Membership, this year’s nominees were chosen from over 4,600 submitted entries and include a wide range of creativity and artistic integrity in both artist and non-artist categories.

Nominees were announced in a star-studded livestream eventfeaturing Alex Campos, John Cooper, Bill & Gloria Gaither, Kari Jobe, Brian & Jenn Johnson, Jonathan McReynolds, Wande and Tauren Wells. The announcement premiered on the GMA Dove Awards YouTube and Facebook pages with clips on the Dove Awards Instagram and TikTok.

“We are thrilled to welcome back an in-person Dove Awards this year and equally excited about our impressive list of nominees,” says GMA President Jackie Patillo. “As we continue to celebrate the immense creativity and diversity within our community, we’re looking forward to an awards program this year’s nominees deserve.”

Voting for the final winners will run August 19th through August 26th. The GMA Dove Awards are happening live and in person in Nashville, TN, October 19th, 2021. A limited number of tickets and Fan Experiences are still available. The broadcast will air exclusively on TBN, Friday, October 22nd, 2021 8:00p.m. ET and then again at 10:00p.m. ET.

BRIAN COURTNEY WILSON RECEIVES GMA DOVE AWARD NOMINATION FOR STILL

AUGUST 11, 2021 (Nashville, TN) — Brian Courtney Wilson, renowned singer-songwriter, adds to his list of accolades receiving a GMA Dove Award nomination for Contemporary Gospel Album of the Year announced today.

Wilson earns a nomination this year for Contemporary Gospel Album of the Year for his acclaimed album STILL. This is Wilson's sixth GMA Dove Award nomination, and he previously won in 2015 for Traditional Gospel Album of the Year for his breakthrough LP "Worth Fighting For."

Currently, the 3x Grammy nominee is celebrating the release of STILL (DELUXE), an updated digital album featuring all of the popular tracks from his original 2020 version.

In addition to two new songs including the black love classic "Be Real Black For Me," featuring Ledisi, and the retooled "Fear Is Not Welcome" with Lady A's Hillary Scott, the Deluxe LP features the #1 hit song / title track “Still.”

The GMA Dove Awards in-person Nashville event will be held October 19, and will air exclusively on TBN, Friday, October 22, 2021 at 8:00pm and 10:00pm EST.

Marvin Sapp Receives Two 2021 Dove Award Nominations

Dallas, TX – August 11, 2021 –The indefatigable gospel singer Marvin Sapp is up for two 2021 Dove Awards. His 13th album, Chosen Vessel, is nominated for Traditional Gospel Album of the Year, while the album’s lead single - “Thank You For It All” - received a Song of the Year nod.

Written by Sapp, with Aaron Lindsey, Christopher Thomas Leach and Jamone Davis, “Thank You For It All” marked the fourth time Sapp had a #1 position on the Hot Gospel Songs chart, a trend that began with his seminal “Never Would Have Made It” in 2007. “Thank You For It All” also ascended to #1 on Billboard’s Gospel Digital Songs and Gospel National Airplay charts.

“I’m grateful to the Gospel Music Association and everyone involved with the Dove Award nominations this year. It is a blessing to have my music ministry acknowledged alongside so many great Christian creators,” says Sapp. “We do this because we are called to, but a little celebrating is okay too! Congratulations to all of the nominees. I’m looking forward to the big night!”
