So I'm not sure if Raphael knows this but his oh so fearsome monster can actually be quite easily cheesed and the whole battle can be really trivilised. Now, I'm not sure if it works on higher levels of difficulties, but you can attack displacer beast before it starts to run away from you; this will trigger battle. Enemies don't know what to do or how to position so you can quite easily make it very fair 4v1. Not sure how strong the big guy is because I managed to back to back crit him and ending him in 4 hits, so like, make your own research I guess?
