Sooo this is my first ever fanfic that I am posting....I got inspired by my HBO war discord peeps...thanks guys!

As my first fic I felt somewhat angsty and Malarkey is one of my faves so...yeah...oh btw there is a lil bit of strong language in there but just a tiny bit! Otherwhise enjoy hehe...😅 ( If you see spelling mistakes english is my second language so shove off 😌 And editing this post was a nightmare so take what you get ✌️)

The Rain doesn't hurt me anymore...

The rain came down hard and in thick droplets. Drenching everything and everyone that it hit. Making the way between the tents and barracks of the camp muddy, slipery and unbearable to walk on. Normally the soldiers wouldn't mind it that much, would put on their boots and stepped through the mud like it was nothing, like they had a thousand times already. But now, not a soul fought their way through it.

Not a soul ? No that wasn't right. One lonely soldier waded through the sloshing dirt. He was drenched from head to the end of his pants. His red hair plasterd to his forhead, deep bags under his eyes, skin pale, walkin with hanging shoulders and a look of utter sadness across his face. His wet uniform made the wind, pushing inbetween the tents, even colder. Cutting into him like blades but he didn't notice it. To wrapped up with the things he saw, experienced, at the pub a few minutes ago.

He conjured the images in his head again and again and again. His heart gettin heavier while his breathin sped up and he clenched his wet fists at his side. Knowing or not caring that anyone would hear him, he let out a frustrated scream and kicked a nearby barrack wall. Slowly he sank to his knees in the mud. His drenched uniform pants were now caked in dirt but he didn't care. Why should he. She also wouldn't have cared or noticed, she never did.

The thought of her bright and fond smile made his chest ache, like someone shot through his heart. She never smiled at him like this, always kept a polite distance and looked everywhere but at him. Their conversations never as long and meaningfull as he wanted them to be, cause her attention was ripped from him, was directed at another man. Anger welled up inside at the thought of the other. He wanted to punch this bastard. Wanted to rip his hands from her soft skin, his lustfull eyes from her lovely face and his body from her lovely figure.

He screamed again and started to punch the large wooden pole in front of him. Blind rage filled his vision. Made him see the other man and just lettin his anger free range until...it evaporated into thin air. He held his breath and stared at the soft hands that had taken his pale and bloody ones. He could feel someone standing pressed against his backside.

The soft hands left his and two arms slowley circled his head and chest. He could feel a head lean against his own. A warm cheek and soft long hair touchin his cheek. His bloody trembling hands, he hadn't noticed when he started to, came up like he was in trance and touched hers lightly. The breath he didn't know he had held passed his lips as he leaned further back against her.

A silence stretched between them. The rain ever present with his steady rhythm on their bodys, the roofs of the tents and baracks and the sludgy ground. After what felt like a millenia he started to slowley get up, her arms fallin from him. He turned and looked down into two also red rimmed and puffy eyes which shocked him a bit. Her face filled with worry and sorrow. He hated it. He wanted her to smile.

Carefully he lifted a hand, put it on her now cold and wet cheek. The contact immediatly returned. A little sad smile creeped on his face. Her eyebrows drew together but then she took his breath again. Whithout hesitation she had crained her neck a little, stood herself on her tiptoes and had put her cold lips chaste on his. For a second he just stared at her but then eagerness pumped through his veigns. Stiff, from the steady rain, cold arms came around her hips and she squeaked as he lifted her.

The next kisses were not as chaste, not as fleating but passioned and firey like they tried to chase the rain away. Big steamy puffs of air left their mouths when they touched their forheads. A smile full of fondness and love, more then she had ever given the other man, spread on her face. Her attention only for him, nobody there who could take it from him. His anger only a fleating memory now pushed away with the images of her look for him.

The rain feeling, now, like it was gliding from him, like it couldn't touch him anymore. His body full of warmth again. He returned her look full of love and smiled brighter then the sun.
