Beginning tonight, May 30, 4 documentaries will be released to coincide with the 100th anniversary of one of the worst acts of white domestic violence in American history - the Tulsa Race Massacre. From May 31-June 1, 1921, a murderous mob of white terrorists attacked, injured and killed hundreds of Black residents and destroyed their homes and businesses in the Greenwood district of Tulsa, Okla. — a segregated part of the city so prosperous and bustling, it was known as Black Wall Street. Check out these films:

▪︎"The Legacy of Black Wall Street" on @OWN June 1 & June 8 at 9PM ET focuses on the people who built Greenwood, and those who live there today.
According to some historians, 300 Black people were killed and injured and 1,200 homes and buildings were destroyed. I'm glad this history is being told in documentary films. For far too long, this (and other) heinous, horrific crime by white perpetrators against Black Americans has been omitted, denied or ignored by white racist power structures and, for far too many people, the first they'd heard of Greenwood, Tulsa or Black Wall Street was the references made in the fictitious series @watchmen and @LovecraftCountry. The legacy of Greenwood/Black Wall Street must be preserved, and its survivors and descendents DESERVE #reparations.
