Diaclone driver types

Can you please tell me who these guys are.

Hi! Those are late 1980’s Diaclone figures. Diaclone has since been rebooted by Takara Tomy and the updated figures are same tiny scale (these guys are often referred to as Inchman or Dianaut). All have magnets in feet.

I think my favorite thing about Diaclone is finding other toys that they can interact with.

Who knew the computer consoles in the Transformers Micromaster Rocket Base were perfectly sized for Dianauts?

I also finally got around the setting up the Hexbug Space sets I got a couple years back. They’re such great starter sets for diorama and base building.

Microman T461 Tyros, Missiler, Data

Microman Titan Command T461 Tyros with a tiny Diaclone Dianaut companion taking advantage of his little boot magnets.

Rescue Servomachines Missiler and Data are joined by Titan Command T461 Tyros. While most Micromen have bio-mechanical bodies as part of their original biology, the magnetic Titans are true cyborgs with Microman minds that were dubbed into their cyberbrain in order to survive the harsh environment of the outer Solar System. So unlike the Rescue Servomachines, he is not an android. Mego missed a great opportunity not selling these as Micronaut toys. Data I acquired on my (only) visit to Japan at the 1999 Winter Wonder Festival. On a far more personal note the other two figures were traded/sold to me not long before these photos (taken in 2018) by a long-time net-friend who, in one of my worst impulsive ADHD moments, I totally snubbed when acquiring a rather rare Microman book I was after that I had already asked him to look out for for me. Another, newer proxy-seller acquaintance had found it first and quickly offered it to me, and in my haste to secure it, I failed to tell my older friend or even inform him later that I was no longer looking for it. He was understandably angered by this and cut all ties, though I didn't understand what happened, much less why until way later. I doubt he'll read this, but if he does, I hope he can someday forgive me for this greivous error. I was dealing with a number of things and a deep personal trauma at the time and honestly was being very unmindful of some important matters. Not that this is an excuse; I am deeply ashamed that I let this happen the way I did. Anyway, I'm not looking for outside commentary or sympathy on this. I'd rather let that matter stay between him and myself. But I just can't keep that bottled in while sharing photos of these two wonderful members of my current collection. Thanks Mike, for all the good times and memories over the years. I'm sorry I didn't show my appreciation enough for what you once did for me.

random headcanon wednesday diaclone edition: new countach lp500s police car type has a woman dianaut.

thankfully, diaclone doesn’t have lore beyond “these are the good guy mech suits and these are the bad guy mech suits” and basic rules like “here’s how to transform it” so i can kinda just do whatever. i’m only saying this because i’m planning on converting the leaked gen selects clampdown into new countach lp500s police car type and like, making a tiny shelf piece using that.

btw, i should mention all cops are bastards. i’m not getting that toy as a glorification of police, i’m only getting it because it’s gonna look cool punching giant bugs and it’s gonna be affordable.

From DaimChoc Reports comes a stock photo gallery of the upcoming TakaraTomy Diaclone Waruder Suit, equivalent to the Dianauts’ Powered Suit. The model is offered in two variations, each including a Waruder pilot. These marauding alien counterparts are similarly price to the Dianauts’ suits but slightly larger, and can be transformed or combined into a variety of configurations.

The Waruder Suit appears to be built around a removable pilot pod (itself bearing a removable tail attachment), is able to transform into a variety of vicious-looking configurations, and can be combined with others into larger and even more menacing machines.

  The red DA-23 “Flinger” suit and blue DA-24 “Stang” suit appear to differ mostly in color, including identically sculpted pilots but with minor sculpt differences in the cockpit bubble and in the weaponized tip of the tail appendage. The price for both versions appears to be the same, matching the Dianauts’ Powered System Maneuver suits.
