Guuhl claims to have been born during the golden amputation. the truth of this is unclear, the prestige of one old enough to have witnessed events detailed in the books of sorrow worth lying about. She is ancient either way.

Her ascendancy was gained in the last millenia, at an age in which most others have long been enjoying a shelter of their own in the sea of screams. Guuhls brood was cutthroat, the prince and brood queens ruling with an iron fist, counting each tithe carefully as to not be robbed by anyone. Ascendancy was not an option yet, not with the current political constellation back then, and tithe wasn't easy to come by. The brood settled in iceland, a quiet place without much tribute to find, and certainly not enough to steal away for oneself.

She had one ally in all this. Her mate Vâmut was of a similar age, the wisdom of millenia, but without the means to carve his being into the universe yet. And for years they planned and fought, honed oneself against the other in the hopes of surpassing their ascendant superiors in strength and wisdom, ursurping their brood and taking it as their own.

In the end, Guuhl got her wish, a new era built on her knights grave. Vâmuts murder and the subsequent power vacuum allowed her to ursurp her former superiors and take the brood as her own.

orbit n emkes are rly fun because theyre both...well, young definitely applies to both, what with both being raised two years ago max, but they show it very differently. orbit is way more of an open book than emkes ever could be. vâmut was a formidable fighter and orbit still has his muscle memory and talent, but irt social life and identity he doesnt know shit. you have this very big, and visibly very old, hive knight who is also honestly quite naive. i think its definitely more fun if a lightbearers former life still affects them in some way—nothing anyone could point to w/o knowing who someone used to be, but there'll always be patterns and behaviors that crop up, no matter what—and in orbits case thats definitely acting like a wise old expert, even tho she doesnt actually have much experience to back that up anymore. its a bit like a child playing at being adult.

i forgot what comparison i was going to make. emkes comes off way less naive than orbit, partially bc theyre good at acting and partially bc they already have a role in life. still way less jaded than wormkes was tho

emkes lives by rule of funny. which means that if something would be entertaining then theyll do it. the most important thing to consider is that it only has to be funny to them and not anyone else

i need 2 make yilask smaller bc hes supposed to look tall only in comparison 2 most other eliksni cuz hes lucky enough to be riisborn. like next to any non-stunted eliksni hes just some guy
