so apparently t/erfs who dislike the use of the progress flag want to switch to using bakers 9 striped variant (with lavender at the very top, as well as the sex and magic stripes) this is not to warn of a new dog whistle i dont think its there (yet?) this is to encourage we (trans and otherwise trans-positive people) consider using it more too.
there are more than 2, or 3, rainbow flags and i like switching between them purposefully when using them in edits and art. im not asking to only ever use the 9 stripes but i think what motivates the ones who dislike the progress flag (because it includes trans people) to use it is because its not used as much and can therefor be effectively "claimed". i dont want transphobes to have it. i dont want it to become a dog whistle.
& keep using the progress flag and calling it that, its alienating lgb transphobes lol

head in hands. stop misapplying death of the author to stuff that isnt art analysis. the word ure looking for is material. does the author materially beenfit from ur support? does it normalize bigotry? does it hurt people? u cannot "death of the author" ur way out of moral questions if the author isnt literally dead. u cannot say "im all for death of the author but" unless ure usually advocating for murder. its art analysis. its ANALYSIS. not ethics. worlds saddest ant 🐜

people thinkin wallace is promiscuous always makes me cringe like . what if we all read the comics and understood them as the source material and were capable of taking whats essentially, a joke in the adaptation, as a joke. yall know in the comics wallace is monogamous w mobile from vol 3. right. we all know that right. he does not sleep around.
and it wouldnt matter if wallace wasnt scott pilgrims only CONSISTANTLY gay character. stephen isnt confirmed gay outside the comics and so on. its just wallace who is ALWAYS written as gay and also the only one who gets re-written as promiscuous. do u see the connection. can we be careful and not be homophobic for 2 seconds.

no one cared enough to read this manga for the library to notice theyd misplaced half of the volumes until i came in asking for them is the full story on this one. after much joking and complaining (mostly on twitter) that they were hiding the books from me.. i was the spark that made them fully take the volumes off the shelves... n i didnt think to ask if theyd give me the volumes they DIDNT misplace so idk what they did w them.. gone forever.. goodbye joe...
#i know libraries cant just hand over the volumes to anyone theres protocol involved but i woudlve liked to at least know what to expect#if id thought to ask.. oh well there are other comics theyre still hiding from me for me to complain about#despanico
