Former XSET VALORANT pros file cases against org over owed Champions 2022 bundle revenue
Tumblr media
In separate lawsuits filed in the state of California, four professional VALORANT players and their coach are requesting a court order compelling the XSET organization to arbitrate any claims for unpaid money from the Champions 2022 skin package. Zachary “zekken” Patrone, Matthew “Cryocells” Panganiba, Jordan “AYRIN” He, Rory “dephh” Jackson, and former coach Don “SyykoNT” Muir have all filed separate cases with the Los Angeles County Superior Court of California, alleging that XSET has gone back on its promise to pay the team members an agreed 50 percent of merchandising revenue, which includes XSET’s share of the Champions 2022 bundle revenue. Each case was filed on Aug. 16, 2023. According to the court documents, XSET has refused to pay any of the former team members their share of the digital items revenue. The documents also claim that XSET ignored “a letter requesting good faith negotiations” sent back in April of this year, leading to the arbitration process. The agreements between XSET and the team members explicitly detail the agreed-upon skin revenue split: “XSET will share in-game skin revenue with the team in a 50/50 rev share. Each Player/Coach will receive 8.33% of all skin revenue sales.” An addendum added in August 2022 also details XSET agreeing to pay 50 percent of proceeds from in-game digital item sales to the five players and coach of the VALORANT roster at the time, which includes all five plaintiffs and Brendan “BcJ” Jensen. The suits allege that XSET is refusing to honor the terms of its own arbitration agreement by rejecting an issue from Judicial Arbitration and Mediation Services (JAMS) to pay the $2,000 non-refundable filling fee, under the JAMS “Policy on Employment Arbitration Minimum Standards of Procedural Fairness.” The suits specifically cite this part of the arbitration section of the contracts, or “Gamer Agreements,” signed by XSET and the former VALORANT team members: “XSET shall be responsible for all fees associated with the arbitrator’s fee, including associated travel expenses of the arbitrator, the rental of a room to hold the arbitration hearing and similar costs.” A legal representative for XSET claims in the case documents that “this agreement covers the ‘arbitrator’s fee’, not the costs of the arbitration.” The plaintiffs are seeking a court order compelling XSET to arbitrate the dispute over the owed revenue shares and for XSET to pay all administrative fees and costs of the suits. OpTic respond to XSET allegations of abusing tech pauses at Valorant Champions
OpTic respond to XSET allegations of abusing tech pauses at Valorant Champions
Following XSET’s loss against OpTic Gaming at Valorant Champions, the team’s IGL Rory ‘dephh’ Jackson and head coach accused OpTic of taking advantage of the technical break to stall their momentum. In the last question of the loser’s press conference, XSET’s IGL was asked what mind games OpTic used in their matches since the two teams have met four times this year alone. “I think the only mind…

theScore esports Daily (June 4): Team Liquid's CS:GO roster claims #1 ranking while stanislaw steps down from Complexity Gaming
theScore esports Daily is a once-a-day briefing covering the top news stories from around the world of esports.
Liquid knock Astralis from CS:GO’s top spot
For the first time in 14 months, Astralis are not the top-ranked Counter-Strike: Global Offensive team in the world.
Liquid claim No.1 world ranking spot with Dallas victory https://t.co/PKJpMWMdWh
— HLTV.org (@HLTVorg) June 3, 2019
With their win this past weekend at DreamHack Masters Dallas, Team Liquid have finally overtaken Astralis for the top spot on HLTV’s rankings.
Over the past 14 months, Liquid has played second fiddle to Astralis’ historic run to back-to-back Major titles.
Rank 1 has been my goal since I took over as manager in 2016. To accomplish something no NA team has ever done is truly special. It’s only the start for our us and this only gives us more confidence. Couldn’t of done it without support from @LiquidNazgul, @LiQuiD112, and @bruste

Stanislaw steps down from Complexity
Complexity Gaming's IGL, Peter “stanislaw” Jarguz, announced via Twitter that he has stepped down from the organization's CS:GO roster.
Hi guys, I have decided to step down from the active roster as I no longer feel that I am the person to lead the team forward. Our results during my time here were inconsistent but I will always be proud of our top8 finish at the Faceit London Major.
— 21 (@peterjarguz) June 3, 2019
By announcing the news, stanislaw confirmed a report from Dexerto's Jarek "DeKay" Lewis, which reported that stanislaw would be stepping down to make way for the talented up-and-comer Owen "oBo" Schlatter.
Prior to signing with Complexity, oBo has had limited professional Counter-Strike experience and despite Complexity stating that oBo is "Gearing up" for the ECS Season 7 Finals which kicks off on Thursday, June 6, it's unclear at this time whether or not the 15-year-old will face a trial-by-fire.
Thrilled to welcome the young gun Owen “@obocsgo” Schlatter to the #COLCS roster. Obo will be gearing up to put his talent on display alongside the team at the #ECS7 finals in London this week. Welcome Obo to the #COLFamilia! #WeAreCOL pic.twitter.com/qPWtL0pNmM
— Complexity Gaming (@compLexity) June 3, 2019
stanislaw spent little over a year with Complexity and before that garnered much acclaim during his time with OpTic Gaming, where he helped take down Astralis at ELEAGUE season 2
The Complexity Gaming roster currently consists of Shahzeb "ShahZaM" Khan, Hunter "SicK" Mims, Rory "dephh" Jackson, Ricardo "Rickeh" Mulholland.

Berjejer di Bawah Astralis, Perubahan Ranking Dunia CS:GO
Berdasarkan rilis dari HLTV, per tanggal 24 September 2018, World Ranking of CS:GO Teams jajarkan 30 tim paling kompetitif sepanjang dua bulan terakhir. Selain tetap dipuncaki oleh 'sang penguasa era', Astralis, kini beberapa tim unggulan kembali pada lajur atas sementara salah satu tim lawas kian terjerumus ke liang terendah. MiBR Tembus Posisi 4 Besar! Jadi 'Buncit', mousesports Dua Posisi! Sang Pemuncak! Read the full article

Sentinels VALORANT Coach Explains Why He Changed His Mind on Tremendous Role Changes
Tumblr media
Sentinels needed a spark heading into the VCT Americas 2023, and they fittingly got one via an audacious suggestion from team analyst DrewSpark. While it paid off in the form of a close opening week victory against 100 Thieves, Sentinels head coach Don “Syyko” Muir admitted it took some convincing before it was implemented. In their series versus 100T, Sentinels strayed from convention by moving their two reigning world champion ex-LOUD players into almost completely new roles. Sacy, after playing all of 2022 as initiator, played most of the series on controller, while former controller pANcada played most of the series on Killjoy. While moving former world champions into different roles seemed like a bold choice, Syyko explained to Dot Esports why he felt he had the pieces to make it work. “We noticed ability to play on an island and be a really impactful lurker was just phenomenal, and it was being wasted on the controller role. Controllers last year were a bit more lurky in the Chamber meta, but now that sentinels are back in play, they fill that primary lurk spot. So with pANcada’s skill in the role, combined with the fact that he doesn’t have to comm as much when he’s on his own, it seemed like a no-brainer for us.” “From there,” Syyko added, “it was just a matter of moving the rest of the pieces around.” To make the new Sentinels composition work, the head coach explained that he wanted to get in-game leader dephh back on initiator agents like KAY/O and Breach, which means someone had to play smokes. That’s when the coaching staff turned to Sacy. “As much as he is an amazing, incredible world champion initiator player, he’s more than that as an amazing world champion VALORANT player and great leader; somebody who learns very quickly and is a veteran player. So asking him to pick up another role was really easy for him, he was great about it. He’s just been phenomenal.” But while Sacy took little to no convincing when it came to switching to smokes, the same can’t be said for coach Syyko and the broader role swaps altogether. Syyko praised his coaching staff in the interview, but admitted he shot down the suggestion when he first heard it. “The Sacy-to-smokes was a DrewSpark proposition that at first I shot down. I thought ‘no we can’t do that, he’s an initiator player.’ But the more work he put in, and the more evidence he put in front of me, we agreed to try it out and it looked great.” The team as a whole looked far improved from the one fans saw at VCT LOCK//IN. The trio of players in new roles looked comfortable, TenZ looked brilliant as always on Jett, and after a poor showing against Fnatic in São Paulo, zekken had a much stronger performance, more in line with the breakout star potential he has. Syyko noted that he worked on mental ‘course correction’ with Zekken after LOCK//IN, and that exercises they’d worked on during the offseason were key to his resurgence in the second half of Ascent versus 100T. Sentinels has another tough task ahead of them in week two of VCT Americas, when they face NRG. Read the full article

uh... what's happened with sentinels? are they changing roostermid competitions or something? - vct anon (🍋 maybe?)
yeah 😭 long story short it seems like they're dropping their IGL Dephh in order to keep both Marved and TenZ on their starting roster! They're def not the only team to have made some mid-season changes (others made some changes a little earlier, for instance C9 dropping Zellsis and yay for jake and runi/EG rotating out BcJ for Demon1) but it's something that a lot of fans have been pushing for so while I'm kind of surprised, given their less than spectacular run I'm not too shocked. I've seen that most people are expecting Sacy to take over IGLing but we'll see once an official confirmation comes from Sentinels themselves!

100 Thieves vs. Sentinels Will Kick off VCT Americas Opening Day
Tumblr media
Perhaps the most anticipated showdown in the history of VALORANT will kick off the first VCT Americas split. The first best-of-three of the VCT Americas 2023 regular season, 100 Thieves vs. Sentinels, will start at 2 p.m. CT on Saturday, April 1. https://twitter.com/valesports_na/status/1633165765879959552 Since the season will consist of an eight-week, single round-robin format, this will also be the only guaranteed meeting between the two North American teams for the foreseeable future. 100 Thieves (top-eight finish) and Sentinels (top-32 finish) both saw their VCT LOCK//IN tournament hopes end at the hands of eventual event champions, Fnatic. Before then, 100 Thieves took the São Paulo spotlight two more times than Sentinels, beating both EDward Gaming and FUT Esports in dramatic 2-1 fashion. Only the top six of the 10 total VCT Americas teams from the regular season will advance to the league’s double-elimination bracket playoffs, where three spots will be up for grabs for Masters Tokyo. Los Angeles will not only serve as the host city for this year’s VALORANT Champions but also the VCT Americas matches as well since the regular-season games will be held live at Riot Games Arena in Santa Monica. As opposed to several other VCT teams, it seems both 100 Thieves and Sentinels will be standing pat with their personnel moving forward, with the exception of Sentinels looking for a new substitute to replace Hunter “SicK” Mims. This match will mark the first face-off between 100 Thieves’ Matthew “Cryocells” Panganiban and Sentinels’ Zachary “zekken” Patrone, Rory “dephh” Jackson, Don “SyykoNT” Muir, and Drew “DrewSpark” Spark-Whitworth since XSET released its VALORANT player roster and coaching staff in October.
