The New Guy - Lee Juyeon
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing: Lee Juyeon x female reader synopsis : You remembered clearly, though, when your pacific daily life at the office started to crumble. There was some gossip between your coworkers that a new - male - worker was transferred to your office building from a researching branch in a smaller city, he was super accomplished at his job, and far more successful than every person his age in the company. He, being a treasure, had to work at the heart of the company, two levels above your department's office. The gossiping, though, was not going around because of how great of a professional this guy was, or how he could help the company to grow - it was because he was hot.
genre: tbh i dont know !!! thats defo romance but is not cute nor hot is just a story lol
word count: 1.8K
author’s note: if this is kinda vague, thats because its based on a dream i had months ago and i just can’t get out of my head, it was the first time i dreamed this clearly with Juyeon and it meant a lot to me :(
(i had a few ideas for a continuation of this so tell me if you’d like to)
You really liked your job. It was a corporate job, but it was not boring how people picture it in movies and TV shows. You enjoyed sitting at your desk, decorated to your linking with all your pens, some photos of you and your friends and cute things you’ve put there so your workspace could look a little bit more like you. You liked your coworkers, even if they weren’t your real friends, they were very nice. Bonus points that your team were all women. You also really liked the view from your desk, how the big glass window portrayed the city view, the buildings making a composition with the sky and that park nearby with a lake, the people walking on the streets looking like tiny ants from above. It brought you peace when chaos sometimes set itself at the office.
You remembered clearly, though, when your pacific daily life at the office started to crumble.
You asked your coworkers to stop talking about this guy, after all you had work to do. To be fair, if they didn't shut up you would pick your nosy ass and start looking for this guy, just so you could confirm if he was really that hot. They didn't care though, and kept talking until one of your managers showed up with a few more people, the older man you recognized being the head of the Management department and the one in a gray suit, the recruiter of the marketing team who worked a few months ago with you. The man on his right, on the other hand, you’ve never seen before. He was tall, his skin was light but sunkissed, the hair was straight, a caramel blonde color on them, contrasting with his dark chocolate eyes and a triangle nose. He was wearing a blue shirt and a black tie, the sleeves of his shirt folded up to his elbows and he was carrying a white lab coat with his badge and a blue stripe.
“Ladies, ” one of your managers started talking to your team “these are the new additions to the company, so we are introducing them to all the teams they’ll be working with.” and kept introducing the people to you and your team to them.
You weren’t paying attention to what he was saying because you noticed how the blonde guy stared at you. It was a pretty vague stare, to be honest, so you were trying very hard to understand that pair of dark eyes, and didn’t realize it meant you were staring him back, what made you blush the second you got yourself together. The redness of your cheeks made him smirk. “And this is Mr. Lee, he was just transferred and will be working on the research team, so you may work together if he comes up with a new product.” The guy suddenly moved his eyes to the other people and turned to a bow, saying “I’m Lee Juyeon, it's a pleasure to work with you guys.” and turning to a bright smile where you could see almost all his teeth. He has cute teeth though you thought to yourself, kepting that to yourself.
They left and your coworkers started gossipping again, filling the workspace with giggles and sightings, but your head was far away from there.
A few days later
You were having your loner lunch as you always did, sitting at the bench in a common area at the rooftop, not a single soul at the entire place, looking down to the city business while munching on half a sandwich you made this morning before leaving for the office, the other half sitting in a pink bento box next to you. The day was very beautiful, the weather nice, the sky clear blue and the birds chipping. You wish you had the day off, so you would be having a picnic with yourself at the park instead. It was lonely and quiet, but you liked that.
To your surprise, you heard steps coming from the door that led to the common area, looking through the bluish glass of the windows and the sliding door. The sun was bright so you had to squint your eyes a little to see. It was a tall figure, very black hair and wearing a white coat, but you could not see if you knew this person or not. He stopped at the door to scan his badge and walk in, so you had to pretend like you were not paying attention and turned your head again to the streets down the building. There was an event happening at the entrance of the park, there were lots of kids buying balloons and a guy dressed in a pikachu suit, so you decided that this was way more interesting than the person coming in a place nobody but you used.
You had to look at their direction again, though, because he clearly was walking to you. He had slow, calm steps, his hands on the back of his body. He casually swung around before looking to your side, moving his eyes to the sitting space next to you and you, almost as if he was trying to figure what to say.
“Can I sit here?” he asked, and your eyes met. It was the new guy on the research team, Juyeon. Those dark eyes and pointy nose would never leave your mind. In fact, they were running through your thoughts from the moment he turned his back and left with the superiors. Every time he crossed your team’s workspace, every time you saw him entering the elevators or passed by, the staring session you had that day came back to your mind and you could not think about anything without coming back to his eyes. You felt your cheeks blushing again.
“Of course!” you said, nodding at him after an uncomfortable silence took place for the few seconds you had to realize it was, in fact, him. He sat beside you, his knees and yours touching. He took an apple juice box from his coat pocket and stabbed the box with the straw while you stared at his features, thinking about how a hair color could change so much how a person looks. You put down your sandwich and pointed at his hair, asking him “Did you dye your hair?”
“Oh” he immediately smiled and touched a loch of his hair with the tips of his fingers. And you couldn’t help but notice how huge his hands were. “Yes, I was blonde for a while but I felt like changing a little.” he chuckled, like a tiny laugh and proceeded to drink his apple juice. He suddenly stopped, the straw making a noise when he lifted his lips “Do you like it?”
You choked on your sandwich, coughing with your hand in front of your mouth. Juyeon turned his body at you, a worrying expression on his face but also a hint of confusion as he didn’t have a clue of what to do in this situation. In a matter of seconds you stopped and were fine again, so you said “I’m Sorry” and tried to clean your throat before answering him. “I like it. It suits your features.”
“Are you alright?” he looked deeply in your eyes, looking for a confirmation that yes, you were alright and he did nothing wrong. You nodded your head, running your eyes away from his before you blushed again, closing the lid of your pink bento box. “Good.” he said in a deep tone, one that you’ve never heard coming out of his mouth before. Not that you heard him talking a lot, but all the times you did, he was being very positive and thoughtful and he had a higher pitch on his voice. “But how come you know if a color fits someone’s features?
“Oh, I work with creativity and stuff, so I had experience in advertising by working directly with models.” his eyes widened as you told him, a smile forming on the corner of his lips. He had very pretty lips, by the way. “So there are colors that suit you and there are colors that don’t. It’s very interesting, but can be a rather extensive topic.” you said, afraid that the conversation was going far away from where it’s supposed to end.
“Oh, its okay.” he said, turning his body in your direction again. “I wanted to be a model when I was younger.”
“You definitely could” you said, your lips working faster than your brain. You bit your lower lip, embarrassed of yourself for saying it like that.
Before he could say anything, a man you didn’t know came in, standing at the door and calling Juyeon. They were in need of him at his department and apparently it was urgent. Juyeon left a sight out of his lips and got up from the bench, so you got up too. He turned at you, looking at you before giving you his hand so you could shake. “I don’t think this is the right time for introductions, but I’m Juyeon.”
“I know. I’m y/n.”
“I know.” he smiled and walked away, a few steps back before turning to the guy at the door, both of them running when Juyeon got by the door.
He know you? He knew your name? How did he find out your name? And how did he find you in the first place, given the rooftop was almost your hidden spot?
Oh, you wished you could see him again, and soon. Something inside you told you you will, and maybe that smile he shot at you before leaving meant he wanted the same.

《6:50pm》 - Peter Pan!Changmin
“Stay.”
You turned to look at him as Changmin held onto your hand, his touch gentle yet longing as his smooth, slender fingers gripped onto yours. The wind was tugging ever so slightly at the hem of your dress as its unspoken whispers whipped around in the air, softly cajoling you to let go.
From a distance, the sun was setting, bathing the horizon in streaks of warm, orangey hues of sunlight. Night was coming soon, as evident from the gradual darkening of the sky from a soft shade of blue to a mellow orange. Clouds hung in mere wisps while a flock of birds flew by, heading home to their nests as the sound of bell tolling sounded from the bell tower not too far away.
It was time.
The look in Changmin’s dark eyes were glassy with unshed tears, the usual look of reckless abandon and youthful mirth all but gone only to be replaced by a heart wrenching expression of longing and desperation. His lower lip trembled as he held onto your hand and his soft hair rustled in the wind, tickling at his cheeks but he paid it no mind. Despite the pain and barely concealed sadness etched in his features, you could only smile - not from happiness but from the memories that you have made with him.
All those mornings waking up next to him in his little tavern, the lazy afternoons dipping your toes into the crystal clear at the Mermaid’s Lagoon and those magical nights cruising through Neverwood as the stars glittered in the sapphire night sky. They will forever be precious memories etched in your mind.
“Please stay. Stay with me here in Neverland. Don’t go back.”
You leaned in, holding his face lovingly in your hands as he leaned into your touch, looking so vulnerable that you could feel your heart clench with such intense longing.
But you knew better. This was his world, not yours. You do not belong here.
You felt your throat began to close up as a choked sob escaped through your lips and you felt the tears began to prick at the corner of your eyes. Your lips briefly touched his in a soft peck that contained so love that no words in this world can fully encompass it.
“Goodbye, Changmin,” you whispered as you felt the wind drift you away.
