A cursory glance at the audience and artist demographics might lead you to believe there is no room for Black people in country music. And yet, despite the limited number of Black country artists setting the charts on fire, a quiet but powerful movement of musicians have brought their talents and unique experiences to the country music landscape during the past few years.

I want an omniscient entity to show me the path my music tastes took to bring me so fully into being a country/western fan*.
*note: I'm talking about the genre(s) on the whole. I'm still picky af and not into like...most of the mainline country acts as much as I'm into folks like Brandi Carlile, Chastity Brown, Denitia (who I just came across recently), Orville Peck, The Ruen Brothers...you get where I'm going with this right?
