Originally crafted by dwarven monks of Mashangar at Flenglade Abbey, these battered wooden steins are bound with pitted dark iron bands and give off the aroma of rich heady spices with a hint of wet sawdust even when clean and dry.

Only forty-six were ever made, one for each of the monks who founded the temple, and each is inscribed with one of the forty-six instructions from a holy text, the Way of Endurance. With the Abbey’s abandonment centuries ago the steins have found their way into many hands over the years.

It's not clear at first glance why so many workers treat the stein as their most prized possession, but watching their suddenly increased alertness after quaffing its contents reveals its enchantment.
