TTP'ye ilişik üç terörist, Hayber Pakhtunkhwa, Dara Adam Khel'de öldürüldü. — AFP/ Dosya Yasadışı Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan'a (TTP) ilişik en oldukca aranan komutan da dahil olmak suretiyle minimum üç terörist, Pazar günü Hayber Pakhtunkhwa'nın Dara Adam Khel bölgesinde istihbarata dayalı bir operasyon esnasında güvenlik güçleri tarafınca vurularak öldürüldü. .Güvenlik kaynaklarına bakılırsa, TTP komutanı Zafar Khan öteki adıyla Zafari, grup üyelerinden ikisiyle beraber IBO'da öldürüldü. 16-17 Haziran gecesi, güvenlik güçleri oldukca planlı bir IBO'da TTP komutanı Zafar Khan öteki adıyla Ghulam Siddique'in oğlu Zafari'yi Dara Adam Khel'de ve iki üyesini Bazi Khel'de ikamet eden Mohammad Imran oğlu Hasan Khan ve Anas'ı öldürdü. takma adı Nangarhar Afganistan'da ikamet eden Ali.Güvenilir kaynaklar, öldürülen komutanın Dara Adam Khel'deki Malan köyünün bir sakini bulunduğunu ve 22 Mayıs 2023'te Afganistan'ın Nangarhar eyaletinden Peşaver'e ulaştığını söylemiş oldu.Zafri ek olarak Tehreek-e-Taliban Afganistan'ın (TTA) eski bir üyesiydi ve Pakistan'da 26 el bombalı saldırıda yer aldı.Ek olarak güvenlik güçlerine, kömür müteahhitlerine, iş adamlarına ve etkili kişilere yönelik düzinelerce terör saldırısına karışmış ve fidye için gasp ve adam kaçırma suçlarından 100 milyon Rs'den fazla para almıştı.Öldürülen öteki terörist Hasan Khan, keskin nişancılık ve el bombalı saldırılarda uzmandı ve 2019'dan 2021'e kadar TTA'nın bir parçası olarak kaldı. 2022'de Tariq Gidar grubuna katılmıştı.Anas keskin nişancılık uzmanıydı ve Şimal Veziristan ve Cenup Veziristan bölgelerinde güvenlik güçlerine yönelik terör saldırılarına karışmıştı.Aranan teröristlerin ortadan kaldırılmasıyla çevredeki madenciler, iş dünyası ve halk rahat bir nefes aldı.Güvenlik güçleri, halkın ortaklık ile ülkenin güvenli ve terörden arındırılması için çalışmalarını sürdürecektir.

PUM Netherlands, Paapam sign deal

ISLAMABAD: PUM Netherlands, a business advocacy group, and Pakistan Association of Automotive Parts and Accessories Manufacturers (Paapam) have signed an agreement to undertake joint venture for sharing knowledge and capacity building in the country, a statement said on Tuesday.
Mashood Ali Khan, chairman of Paapam and Frans Fiedeman, country coordinator at PUM Netherlands signed the memorandum of understanding, which will be effective for next three years.
The agreement will help local auto industry get expertise from experts of PUM Netherlands to build capacity of small and medium entrepreneurs on modern lines, which will eventually lead to higher efficiency and productivity of the domestic auto industry.
Paapam and PUM’s experts will assess the training needs after which they will mutually construct and plan training programs for auto parts manufacturers to bridge the gaps identified in various areas. 
  Nestle organises workshop

KARACHI: The Centre for Excellence in Journalism (CEJ) in collaboration with Nestlé Pakistan organised a two-day workshop for nutrition and health reporters on "Basics of Nutrition and Health Reporting: Nutrition as a source of News”, a statement said on Tuesday. The training was attended by more than 20 print, broadcast and digital journalists from various media organizations, it added. The workshop was led by CEJ director Kamal Siddiqi with a host of guest speakers, including nutritionists, policy experts, as well as senior journalists. The course targeted entry and mid-level journalists, covering health and business beats, it added.
  Oman Air launches new baggage offer

KARACHI: Oman Air, the national carrier of the Sultanate of Oman, is delighted to announce that it is introducing a new baggage offer for the holy month of Ramazan, a statement said on Tuesday. Guests travelling in economy class during Ramazan will be able to travel with two bags (weighing up to 30kg in total) for no extra charge, it added. The same offer will also apply for Oman Air guests who book their flights during Ramazan for travel after the holy month, it said. Guests wanting to travel with more than two pieces of luggage totaling 30kg will be able to purchase an additional piece of up to 20kg for a nominal fee.
  Ufone supports cause

KARACHI: Ufone on Tuesday announced that like last year, this year too it will be supporting a noble cause, a statement said.
Ufone will support the inspiring cause of Syeda Anfas Ali Shah, by purchasing media space on television channels and digital media throughout Ramazan and donating this free of cost to the cause, so that it can spread its message widely across Pakistan, it added.
Ufone aims at creating widespread awareness of the great work being done by Shah and motivate others to take up humanitarian initiatives, to bring about positive change in the society, the statement said.
Shah is running seven footpath schools in Karachi and interior Sindh, with the aim of imparting education to those underprivileged children who belong to extremely poor families and mainly do street labour, it added.
  Greece dismisses report
ATHENS: Greek Finance Minister Euclid Tsakalotos on Tuesday dismissed reports in Germany´s Bild newspaper that the country could default on July debt repayments. "Bild has distorted what I said yesterday. I never said that Greece would not repay debt in July. There is no such issue," he told Reuters. "What I did say is that the disbursement was not an issue, because all sides agreed that we have kept to our commitments. But the Greek government feels that a disbursement without clarity on debt is not enough to turn the Greek economy around," he said.
  SNGPL asked to expedite work
PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra has directed the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) to expedite work on ongoing projects of gas provision and start work in those areas, which are still deprived of gas in NA-3 and NA-4 constituencies.
The governor also directed the officials concerned to resolve the issue of low gas pressure during the holy month of Ramazan.
Presiding over a high-level meeting at the Governor House, he directed Lahore SNGPL managing director Amjad Latif, Peshawar general manager Arbab Saqib and Peshawar chief engineer to complete the ongoing projects, especially in Dara Adam Khel, FATA, Peshawar and Mardan on war footings.
The government has strong desire to provide gas and other basic facilities to the people without any delay, Jhagra said. The delegates of SNGPL briefed the governor on the ongoing projects and said that work will soon be started on Kandi Kalukhel, Budhni, Rano Garhi, Mia Gujjar and Landi Daudzai of Peshawar district for provision of gas as soon as possible and pending plans should be completed soon.
  LSE to buy Citi’s operations
LONDON: The London Stock Exchange (LSE) has agreed to buy Citigroup's fixed-income analytics platform and index business for $685 million in cash, the companies said on Tuesday.
LSE, which has said it would explore investments to drive growth after the collapse of its proposed merger with Deutsche Boerse (DB1Gn.DE), said the deal would boost the data and analytics capabilities of its information services and FTSE Russell franchise businesses, including an increase in benchmark assets under management to about $15 trillion.
The deal, which is subject to regulatory clearance and is expected to close in the second half of this year, will add $30 million to LSE's revenue over the first three years after completion and bring $18 million of cost savings.
LSE expects its core profit margin to rise to at least 50 percent within three years of the deal's completion, the company said.
  Elior keeps financial targets
PARIS: Elior, Europe´s third-largest catering group, reported higher first-half revenue and core profits, helped by growth overseas, and kept its full-year financial targets for an increase in sales and earnings.
Elior, which competes with bigger rivals Sodexo and Compass Group, also said it was confident it could deliver over its longer-term goals. Elior has a contract arm, which provides catering to businesses, schools and hospitals and accounts for 76 percent of the firm´s overall business.  It also has a concessions business, which serves airports, railways and motorways.
Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation(EBITDA) rose 17.9 percent to 255 million euros ($284 million), giving a margin of 7.9 percent of revenue against 7.4 percent a year-ago.  Revenue rose 10 percent to 3.213 billion euros in the six months ended March 31, helped by acquisitions and robust demand in the United States, with 55 percent of revenues coming from abroad compared with 51 percent the previous year.
