There's this post I keep seeing about how stupid it is that all autistic characters in media have jobs related to their special interests and that it says something about how autism is only valued if it helps someone contribute to society and like I get that and I am veey much allistic and that is in fact why I am making a seperate post rather than derailing that one to talk about my OCs because actually the reason I give my autistic characters jobs related to their special interests is because I want to see them happy in their job that they love. Like Ryan "I have worked non stop since I was like 7 to be the best I can be always and never stop preserving" Taylors is not just not going to have a job related to one of the things he's very obsessed with and has skills that could make him very good in the feild which happens to pay extremely well. Also I balance this out by making Ryan's autistic obsession with true crime and how criminals get caught the sole reason he was able to go on a 6½ year serial killing spree and not be caught for another 10 years until he confessed under the protection of like 5 people with power equivalent to major world leaders.
