with the update to the situation: i’m not gonna say much on it now, i wanna collect my thoughts more cause i think i need time to process. in the meantime, i’m gonna be posting a bunch of art for my aus that haven’t ever seen the light of day and hopefully answer some asks (none of which will be involving the person involved for the time being)

ik this all is gonna be hard for people to process, and i really do care about this little community, so if anything i make can help someone feel a bit better in the current state of things, then i want to do what i can.

ok this isn’t really a post about the situation but it is a minor update to how i’ll be handling a few of my aus:

the whole rant is under the cut but tldr: the aus i talk about here are Store Shifter, Dad’s Troubles, Flubber, and Epic. Store Shifter and Dad’s Troubles are getting left alone, Flubber is getting a minor recast, and Epic is getting more majorly reworked (mostly character wise, kinda plot wise). As of right now, Wil/crimeboy centric fics are on pause. Not cancelled, but i’ll see later down the road if they need changed or if i can learn to separate the character from the creator. I will be updating the Epic au soon with said reworkings cause i really really really wanna finish that story. I have yet to start and actually finish a chaptered fic and I want this to be my first.

most recently i’ve been posting a few updates on mainly the Store Shifter and Flubber au, while i’ve been kinda working on the Dad’s Troubles and Epic AU in the background.

For the most part, these aus will remain unchanged because you know who either isn’t in them or isn’t a main character. For the Store Shifter, i’m not changing it for now because he isn’t and was never planned to be an important character. I’m just gonna ignore him in that au. Dad’s Troubles he just straight up isn’t in, so that one is unchanged.

Flubber au is a little different: i’m just recasting. He doesn’t have a huge part, but it is a lore important one, so from now on in that story the main antagonist will be Dream (1: he’s easy to stick in the “Tommy’s antagonistic boss” role and 2: i need at least one au where Dream is an antagonist lol). So yeah i’ll make a more official post for that au later.

The main reason for this post tho is the Epic AU, which is one of my personal favorites and i have so much that I want to talk about it for and even a whole bunch of new characters and concepts and world building that I want to post about. However, this au faces a problem for me at this moment: it’s crimeboy centric.

As of right now, I do not feel comfortable updating any of my Wil/crimeboy centric aus/fics. This is not to say I’m discontinuing them, i’m personally very attached to my own fics and a lot of them were written to either help me feel better or to help other people feel better, so I don’t feel right just throwing them away. Also, i will never be deleting my fics or shutting down this account, so I don’t want people to worry there, either. However, I don’t know how comfortable I am with writing for c!Wil rn, especially since this situation is still so fresh and plenty of people haven’t shared their experiences/responses (not to say that I expect anyone to; i don’t expect everything to be handled publicly over twitter). I think in time i’ll be able to separate the character from the actor; unfortunately i’ve been through this before. i’ve seperated characters who were far more like their creator from said creator who had done far worse things (if anyone on this blog has watched TribeTwelve, you know exactly what I’m talking about).

However, even if I eventually decide that I can write c!Wil while separating him from his creator, i don’t know if i’ll ever feel fully comfortable incorporating him in stories with a bigger cast of characters given the cc responses to his actions. Any stories where I have him interacting with people like Ranboo, Tubbo, or especially Niki will likely need to be changed because i don’t feel comfortable portraying them like friends anymore.

I’ve kind of done this before, honestly, i just never posted about it last time: when beeduo first stopped talking publicly, i stopped writing for beeduo. To this day, i have a fuck ton of beeduo requests in my inbox that i never got to and may not ever write because i didn’t feel comfortable writing their characters being close when in real life they may have had a falling out or now hated each other (so, so sorry to the people that sent those btw). Over time, most people started to realize that it was because of the crazy amount of shipping. It was bad during the dsmp and only got worse when Ranboo came out and all the speculation over Tubbo’s sexuality hit its peak when he’d made it very clear that crossed his boundaries. After realizing their silence was likely just them trying to shut up a more toxic part of both of their fanbases, i became a bit more comfortable writing them as friends again. I still haven’t made any beeduo centric fics or stories since then cause i don’t know the full story of what happened between them, this is all just speculation, but i at least have them be friends as supporting characters in aus i’ve already made.

All this to say that the way i handle the rest of my aus really depends on how things play out more with the situation. Again, it’s still new and i’m still gathering my thoughts. I can think about it more clearly now that i’ve gotten over the shock, which is why i’m posting this, but not every decision will be finalized immediately.

However, back to the Epic AU, it will be getting a rework in a lot of ways. I’m changing up the cast, and i’ve decided to cut Wil entirely because 1: i’m impatient and this is an au that i really wanna start up again and keep working on right now and 2: in the au i have him being friends with Ranboo and Dream and Tubbo and again that’s just not something i feel super comfortable with rn. So, i’m recasting and minorly changing the plot so i can update that one soon cause honestly i just miss it. I’ve still got so many asks and art requests (Becky sent me an art request like almost a year ago now and istg i’m gonna fucking draw it if it kills me) and there was a whole nother species i teased a bunch and then just…never told you about.

So yeah expect an update on the Epic AU soon and thank you for reading this entire fucking essay. As a little bonus for taking your time to read this, i’ll give you a hint for the next au im working on: karlnapity and vampires >:)

ok so i hate addressing drama on here but this feels important.

If this is how you’re learning about the Shubble situation, i apologize

first things first: i 100% stand with and believe Shubble. My heart is with her fully and I’m so glad she’s healing from what she went through with her abuser.

the reason im posting this, though, is because of the discourse surrounding Wilbur Soot and the possibility/evidence that he was the unnamed abuser Shubble was talking about. And as many of you know, i post a lot of crimeboy/sbi/wilbur-centric stuff. For now, because from what i can tell the situation is less than a week old, i’m going to give Wilbur time to respond. I won’t say that it’s him, i won’t say that it’s not him, but i’m prepared for the worst.

As for this blog, i’m probably going to handle this the same way i handled the Dream situation; i’m going to take a break from Wilbur centric aus for the moment until things become clearer, but the odds that i’ll stop writing for his character all together are slim. I don’t write with ccs in mind, ever, period. At this point i’m treating the dsmp cast like OCs with how far removed from their og characters they tend to be in my stories. In all honestly, i stopped watching half of these creators over a year ago, but i still like the idea of their dsmp characters. Hell, to be completely truthful i don’t think i’ve ever watched a Dream or Sapnap youtube video in full and those two are main characters in like half of my aus.

Also clarification just so this doesn’t get misconstrued: when i say “i’m going to handle this like the Dream situation,” i mean i’m gonna keep writing and not take down my previous stories, i’m just going to distance myself from the creator until more comes to light. I don’t want to compare Shubble’s experiences with abuse to fakes snapchat screenshots posted on twitter. Again, I stand with and believe Shubble’s story 100%, abuse is not something to be taken lightly and I wish her nothing but the best. It takes guts to speak out like she has and I commend her bravery.

This situation is a bit harder for me than the Dream one, though, because as I mentioned, i was never a huge cc!Dream fan, more a c!Dream fan. But I’ll be devastated if this is all true because I was a huge Wilbur Soot fan. Never really liked LoveJoy, just wasn’t my type of music, but SootHouse was quite literally the first YouTube channel i ever watched. Not to be parasocial, but Wilbur’s videos got me through some tough times. His YLYL videos were the only things that brought me joy when Techno’s death announcement was released on my birthday. I really looked up to him.

I don’t want to make this about me, the main thing in this situation is to support Shubble. No matter who the ex is, she deserves all of our unwavering support right now. I hope that if it wasn’t Wilbur that he somehow clears his name soon, but that if it was (im hoping it’s not but im not ignorant enough to blindly disregard all the evidence) that he regrets what he did and is getting help. I believe people can change and that everyone deserves a second chance, but im not going to know what to think of him until he gives a genuine, heartfelt apology for his actions, fully commits to bettering himself, and proves that he’ll never do something like this again.

hi everyone! little bit of an update!!

to those of you waiting for the next part in the store shifter au: it’s almost done, i swear.

the rest of this is a lengthy explanation cause y’all know me, i can’t write something short. tldr will be bolded at the bottom if you don’t wanna read all this.

i wanna explain something real quick: in my early years of middle school, i was into creepypasta, which pipelined into Marble Hornets, which pipelined into a ton of other slenderverse series. If you don’t know what that is, it’s an ARG with an emphasis on characters being stalked or hunted by Slenderman. All of them are really really good in their own way and do interesting things with not only Slendy, but adding their own new big bad’s and lore and i’d highly recommend watching one if you haven’t yet. (i may make a separate post about which you should watch based on what kind of content you most enjoy cause i really want to indoctrinate more people into this)

My favorite slenderverse at the time had a very big emphasis on early November, specifically November 11th. So i started to have a little tradition of watching those videos every November 11th even after the hyperfixation had faded just for a bit of nostalgia.

Fast forward to now- it has snowballed to the point where every year for over half a decade now, November 11th rolls around and I am thrown violently headfirst back into my slenderverse phase. I cannot control it. I’ll be like “ok this year i’ll be normal about it, after this long, surely watching one video won’t spiral me again” and it always fucking does. No other hyperfixation i’ve ever had has functioned on a calendar cycle so idk wtf this is. This is the 6th year of this. I cannot escape.

So yeah, per how it’s been since middle school, November-January my main hyperfixation will be slenderverse. It could be shorter, it could be longer, but that’s the general pattern i’ve noticed over the years. After that i’ll pretty much be back to normal.

Don’t get me wrong, i’m not taking a 3 month hiatus or anything. I promise i will do my best to get the store shifter au part out before fucking 2024. But if you’ve sent me an ask recently and i’ve ignored it, i’m genuinely so sorry, but i can’t force myself to work on new stuff right now when mcyt g/t isn’t my main interest. I’ll do my best to get to it eventually when the hyperfixation comes back a bit more, i do read and process and think about every single ask i receive and it always makes my day when i get a new ask, but yeah. For the next few months i’m probably only gonna be working on and posting stuff that’s been in the works, are from asks that we’re given to me like a year ago and already have wips in progress to answer them, or art that i just haven’t given you yet.

on the other hand, if you’re reading this and you like creepypasta or slenderverse stuff, i’ve created what i think is literally my 5th fucking blog! @cynningly <-i’ve been spamming this for like 4 days cause i refuse to be normal about slenderverse stuff, but follow there if you want horror stuff and so far just a bunch of really shitty edits of internet arg sexyman villains. my hyperfixations switched up again, im really into slenderverse (slenderman-centric args) at the moment and likely will be till January. This is a cycle that’s been going on for years now. made an alt for it -> @cynningly

To start off, i’ll be posting another story tomorrow, so yay!

(be warned that this is gone get kinda long, and you don’t need to read all of it, but if you could read the paragraphs that are bigger so you know what’s going on, that would really really mean a lot to me!!)

secondly, i hate to be the one to bring this up again, but this community is…not doing great. I really do love doing this, and my interest in this type of content has not waned one bit, but it can be a bit disheartening to work really hard on something and have no one see it. and i really don’t know what’s up because most of my posts with effort get like 20-40 likes which is awesome!! i’m not disheartened at all by those numbers, especially in a smaller community!

I am, tho, confused when i’ll post something and get like 120 likes and reblogs on it or something. I get that everyone likes things a different amount, but i kinda feel like i don’t know what people want? If what i’m writing is helping people stay in the community or if they just don’t care? Cause if i’m posting content no one wants to see, i should probably take into account what you all do want to see.

Of course i write things for me, but i want to grow this community! I want more people here, i want people to look forward to reading something because it interests them!

then sprinkle physical therapy, college portfolio work, and general highschool bs in there and we’ve got my life 👍 but that’s just concert season, it’s like this every year lmao

I just finished my last actual concert a few hours ago and i’m not even done with performances yet, i have four next week 😀

The characters! Everything i write is with some character in mind, usually the dsmp characters (though I sometimes look at other smps or even other fanfics for an idea of how to write the character), though I tend to mold them to fit my story better and usually present them with my own fanon ideas/headcanons rather than exactly how they are in canon. But, no, I don’t like to think of the real people when I write.

i mainly post dsmp and most of my mutuals and accounts i interact with are almost strictly dsmp, so i’m still very into that. that hyperfixation has been running for like 2 years and generally with me if it lasts this long it’s here to stay for a while. like fnaf has been holding its spot in my brain since 2014 somehow and i don’t see that stopping anytime soon. plus i have so many fuckin dsmp aus that i’m still actively working on.

my fear is that i may lose some interest in south park after i start posting content. like, i posted maybe 4 things about stranger things g/t when season four aired cause i was super super into stranger things. those are my top liked posts of the whole year, but then my motivation dropped cause stranger things wasn’t trending anymore and i didn’t see enough of it to keep my hyperfixation going for more than like 2 weeks. and i still feel kinda bad cause as much as i still like the show a normal amount, i have like 20 asks in my ask box about that au that i just don’t have the motivation or interest to answer.

i’m worried that south park trending on tik tok rn if affecting my hyperfixation cause it’s being shoved in my face so much. but then again, i’m gonna go out on a limb here and say i’m way more into south park than i was ever into stranger things. it’s been a long time since i’ve liked characters as much as i’ve liked some of the south park kids, and that’s really what makes me stick with a show.

BEATDOWN WEEK IS OVER WOOO

Sorry for the hiatus! As some of you know, i’m in marching band, and this is parade season, which is the most grueling thing about being in a marching band. Those of you in a marching band know what i’m talking about, but to those of you that don’t? It basically means normal practices, plus parade practices, plus waking up at ungodly hours on weekends to drive an hour away to do a parade.

Anyway my school, has what we call “beatdown week,” which is all of the aforementioned things and more, which is awful.

That plus my back injury wasn’t a good mix. I’m in colorguard, but i’m not allowed to spin with my injury (which i’ve had for 3 weeks fml) which means i’ve just been doing what i can to help the squad without doing my routines.

Anyway, that’s over with, and i don’t have another parade for a few weeks, which means more content soon!! I have a few things in the works, a bit of fanart i want to pump out, and some aus y’all haven’t seen in a while that i want to add more to!! So keep an eye out! :)

Alright I wanna talk about the sizeshifter!tommy au for a second:

I like the idea of Tommy being able to shrink and regrow people (obviously, since I’ve answered a lot of asks about it already), but I think I’m gonna make the (at the moment) angsty “tommy can shrink people and anyone can nom whoever they want” version of this au a separate spinoff to the normal sizeshifter!tommy au.

This is mainly because I feel like I’ve made Tommy way too powerful, and part of the fun at least I was having while writing was playing with the idea that Tommy’s powers were just how they were and everyone had to just work around that.

Also I’ve written so many fucking contradictory statements about Tommy’s powers and I’m driving myself crazy. So in the spin-off he’ll be able to shrink whoever and the normal version he can only shrink himself.

So I’ll probably re-tag those with “sizeshifter!tommy au spin off” so I can keep track of that, and have the normal version where Tommy can only affect his own size be kept normal.

Hey! Welcome to the community! Glad you asked, here’s some starter tips!

Interact with posts/reblog things from the community: This doesn’t seem like a big one, but it’s a really good way to get a reach out. If people (specifically ccs) start seeing your name around more often, they’ll be more inclined to check on your page and see your work. Plus it never hurts to leave a nice comment or ask!

Always have your ask box open when you’re starting out: You want people to know you’re approachable and send asks! That’s how you starts aus and grow your creativity!!

Make fan works for things you enjoy: I may be biased because this is how I started, but creating things for ccs you admire is a really good way to not only get their attention, but their audience’s attention. If they like what they see, they’ll drop a follow, and it helps to have bigger creators reblog your work to get it out there. Plus, people like to see more writing/art for their favorite aus and writing about something people already know is a good way to get them interested in your new ideas.

Tag properly: I cannot express this one enough. Tag things with “mcyt g/t” and/or “mcyt gt,” since those are the main tags. If a post contains v*re, be sure to tag with something to the effect of “tw vore” as well. More umbrella tags like “g/t art” and “g/t writing” can also be used, and more specific tags like “giant![insert character]” or “tiny![insert character]” also help! I would advise against tagging with “mcyt” or “dsmp,” though, since we’ve gotten some crap from that before.

Have a target audience: This one is kind of optional. Some people have a brand on here, my best example being Zaud (aka Darkening Anon) who had made themselves a brand of being extremely angsty through the things they’ve written and sent to Roman (aka Baja-Monarch), and it works great! Some people are more all over the place, and that’s ok too!! But personally I think that you should always aim to make yourself the target audience. You have to like what you write in order for others to like it as well.
