so youre a twentysomething thirtysomething year old guy whos just learned that your country (which youve lived your entire life so far training in and protecting and becoming an ostensibly highly valued fighter in) is actually kinda fucked because the king (who took the throne around the time you were born) and his family have done some Fucked Things. and so you just uproot your life right then and there to take the kingdom over yourself using information you’ve gathered from your life in the kingdom and you’re actually making progress and then some little shit comes along and derails you but it turns out he could be pretty useful in the whole taking over the kingdom thing and is actually also probably pretty lonely? so what happens when youre comfortable with him under your wing and you get to the kingdom and hes like The Target Of All Targets what then. is he still a tool or is he worth risking the mission for. because at the point youve just got a son

one gayepost before i go to bed but its funny how enrico is like "the ancient texts say powers magi will do anything for a power!" and then cube is too busy wondering how enricos sword-scale works and thinking abt how cool it is and has never tries to take it, same when cube thinks enrico has the power of thread. he politely asks if enrico will give it to him and if not, can enrico use it for him. cube is just a normal boy
