being the only son of a renowned boxing coach meant his future was practically sealed from the moment he was born. after having trained some of the best boxers of his generation, dejan’s father made it his mission to make dejan on of the best boxers the world had ever seen.
unfortunately for him, the journey to make a certified punching machine was going to be a long one.
growing up dejan was a gentle kid, the type that would cry if he stepped on a worm and who preferred to go to the library to read books during recess.
he loved reading. every genre. his favorite book? moby dick. ( i’ve never read it lol ) he can’t remember much if it now, but he recalls daydreaming about going on a great ocean adventure someday. it was thanks to that book that dejan developed a love for the ocean and it even fostered a desire of becoming a marine biologist someday.
of course, that dream was cut short when his father began ‘ pushing ’ his son to pursue a career in boxing instead and by that I mean his father practically bullied him into it tbh
all’s well that ends well though ‘cus dejan ended up really enjoying it! the only setback? he became a spitting image of his father
his aggression, his narcissistic attitude, his inability to prioritize anything outside of himself and his desires, the list goes on and on.

one thing that dejan’s father got right was his son’s ability to kick ass. dejan had a natural athleticism to him so pair that an acquired taste of blood, glamour, and adrenaline? boom— you got yourself a professional boxer.
so with his ever growing career, what the heck is this guy doing on love island?
well, dejan had become a bit of an online personality, especially after having fought the one... the only... lo.gan pa.ul ( 🤢)
he ended up getting injured during his fight with him which resulted in dejan not only loosing the fight but also being unable to participate in any upcoming tournaments.
dejan was building good social media momentum though, so his manager suggested he goes on the show as to not loose the public’s interest.

moved out to cork to study marine biology in university, flunked out. has bounced around locations ever since, staying with friends, family, and other distant relatives.
currently an aspiring singer - songwriter ( by which i mean she takes solo gigs at a few of her favorite pubs and has a couple singles out on spotify. very, very niche ), but just a few weeks ago she was sneaking into private art studios swearing up and down that she was going to be the next picasso. in a few months she’ll probably move up to belfast to build tiny homes and call herself bob the builder or some shit.
how does she fund all this ? she has some decent connections for starters, but she actually won the lottery a couple years ago and has been coasting ever since. that’s her REAL claim to fame.
was flicking through channels with her mates waiting for the football game they were watching to come back from break when they stumbled across an episode of love island. kenny, drunk off her ass, boldly claimed that she could get on the show. this was an entertaining enough idea that the group spent the rest of the night filling out kenny’s online application. she honestly forgot about the whole thing until she was contacted by the showrunners for the next step in her evaluation. the rest is history !

in the shortest summary possible: eden’s basically the in universe bindi irwin. tv personality from doing shows with her mom and step dad when she was really little, they’ve got some reality tv show about life at the zoo and she’s had a couple little mini series growing up. definitely no stranger to the camera, and you’ve probably vaguely heard of her. and if you haven’t heard of her you’ve at least hear of her parents.
she’s the baby of three, having two older brothers who also work at the zoo :)
she’s fully under the impression of nothing can ever be more embarrassing than having your awkward braces phase immortalized on national television, so really there’s nowhere to go but up.
it might be a little idealized, but she’s really truly looking for the one. even if they’re not found on love island, but one day for sure. she’s got a fairly decent example of love from her parents. her bio dad was only in the picture until she was three and her mom was married to her step dad by the time she was five. but there’s always been something about the way they click, the way they love each other, that eden’s really admired. she wants her own relationship to emulate that same healthy relationship, full of trust and love. she’s not really in the market for settling, knowing that relationships can really look like the ones you see in movies.

prologue.
mother was an internationally popular supermodel and father was a fairly well-known television actor.
both were notoriously good-looking, though her mother more so esp due to her occupation and geographical range of fame.
relationship was highly publicized for a while until the start of their marriage when they put an iron-clad lock on their family’s privacy.
CHAPTER I.
eyes were on the family again when leo entered the picture, particularly when he didn’t shy away from social media when he went off to secondary school.
intelligent, high-achieving, boisterous, socially accommodating, good-looking, well-off, athletic, able to thrive off of inherited fame, and willing to feed curious viewers glimpses into his seemingly perfect life... he was a shoe-in for being a quasi-influencer.
he also had a habit of ghosting social media before making sudden comebacks, though this display of untouchability seemed to fuel people’s curiosity.
in reality, as much as he liked the attention, he wasn’t able to not tie his self-worth into every bit of it he got -- which wasn’t great since he knew the foundation for that attention was due to his parents’ work... leading him to become obsessive then repulsed at the attention. rinse and repeat.
to make up for it, although he was naturally curious enough to pursue all this endeavors, he tried much harder, going above and beyond to prove he was capable of being both extraordinary and self-made.
a futile attempt since he’ll never be able to change the circumstances of his birth. he knows this.
CHAPTER II.
went to cambridge and majored in literature and history.
rejected shallow monetary opportunities, feeling a little wounded that in the end, people would just see him as a to-be celebrity more than a well-accomplished individual beyond his parents’ legacy.
when approaching academia, was met with derision or passionate mentorship, depending on the professor/fellow student and their skepticism (and where that skepticism stemmed from).
nonetheless, academia provided a challenging solace.
however, he didn’t feel an acute sense of satisfaction until he overcame challenges in his master’s program too.
these challenges included the expected bigotry in academia, sussing out those who wanted to help because they believed in him vs. those who wanted to ride his coattails, and finally producing work only because he was dedicated to his work and not because of any sullying motivation to “prove” anything, whether that’s to anyone else or himself.
even privatized his social media and paid little thought to it while he focused on his studies.
CHAPTER III.
however, his goals thwarted his parents’ expectations and hopes, which mainly included law school. by pursuing corporate law, he’d have a guaranteed path towards wealth so that he could continue living the life he’s used to.
he refused to give up his path towards a doctorate, leading to them cut off funding for his education.
though he does have grant-winning prowess, he unfortunately feels uneasy about adapting to a non-cushy life while embarking on an incredibly challenge that’ll take him nearly a decade to complete.
epilogue.
so, he signed up to be on love island.
even unprivated his instagram the month before airing and posted a few beach photos to earn a few brownie points from the public. just as he planned, he made some headlines.
the idea of defining his adult public image as a piece of arse makes him cringe a little. and truthfully, he’s afraid he might like the attention too much. it could really mess with his head.
but nonetheless, he’s got to pad up his finances if he wants to live his life the way he wants. he’s just got to meet everyone else’s expectations for a little longer, one last time.

Stella was born in Mexico City, the third and youngest child to upper middle class Mexican American parents Luis and Josefina Rios who had divorced when Stella was eight. After her parents’ divorce, Stella spent her time growing up in between Mexico City, where her father was, and Los Angeles, where her mother had moved. It didn’t matter too much to Stella that her parents fought a lot, it didn’t matter to her that they got divorced and each remarried and had new families, not when her parents spoiled her rotten and showered her with attention and love and gifts.
From a young age, Stella was insatiable and reveled in being the center of attention. She liked having her time full and busy with school activities. She was head cheerleader, and often participated in school plays, always aiming and landing the lead role. Acting came easy for her. She was also voted prom queen.
