La carrera de Messi

Lionel Andrés Messi Cuccittini, conocido como Leo Messi, es un futbolista argentino que juega como delantero o centrocampista. Desde 2023, integra el plantel del Inter Miami de la MLS estadounidense.

Comenzó a jugar en el club local "Grandoli" a la edad de 6 años, motivado por su abuela. Su espíritu de campeón imparable ya destacaba, y no pasó mucho tiempo antes de fichar por el Newell's Old Boys unos meses después. Su habilidad técnica era espectacular y desde el principio se destacó en el equipo infantil.

Con el Fútbol Club Barcelona, al que estuvo ligado más de veinte años, ganó 35 títulos, entre ellos, diez de La Liga, cuatro de la Liga de Campeones de la UEFA y siete de la Copa del Rey.

El club lo presentó el 16 de julio en el estadio DRV PNK y anunció que usaría el dorsal número 10.Messi jugó por primera vez el 21 de julio ante Cruz Azul por la primera jornada del Grupo 3 de la Zona Sur de la Leagues Cup, ingresó en el minuto 54 por Benjamin Cremaschi y en el minuto 94 marcó de tiro libre un gol con el que su club ganó 2-1.

It’s even poetic, these drawings began with France eliminating Argentina from the cup in 2018 and now Argentina defeats France in the finals :)

El "10" se va pero el legado continúa:

Son tantas emociones que decir con respecto a Lionel Messi que todos estos años que lo he seguido desde 2007 para ser más exactos al dato (aunque claro no con la pasión que surgiría en 2009-2010 la temporada donde se volvió el mejor jugador que mis ojos han visto), Messi ha marcado gran parte de las emociones de millones de personas alrededor del mundo, por su forma de jugar y su sencillez que lo caracteriza se ha vuelto ejemplo a seguir de las personas, pero sobre todo a no rendirse que ha sido una constante en su vida sobre todo su paso por el fútbol de selecciones el cual parecía ensombrecido tanto que renunció una vez (quizás por la frustración de no poder darle un título a su país, a pesar de sus esfuerzos), pero que todo cambió el 10 de Julio de 2021 al ganar la Copa América en Brasil en el mítico Maracaná, que la serie de éxitos internacionales a nivel selecciones llegaría a su vida con un torneo Copa de Campeones UEFA-CONMEBOL (conocido como "Finalissima"), así como su trofeo más importante siendo el jugador más destacado del torneo el 18 de diciembre de 2022 que fue la Copa del Mundo frente a una Francia que parecía imparable en ese contexto.

No obstante, hay que recordar los sinsabores como se ha dicho de cómo Messi perdía títulos a pesar de su esfuerzo por ganarlos en selección, donde incluso perdió una FINAL de un Mundial en 2014 en Brasil (ironías de la vida es que años después ahí rompería su mala suerte) ante Alemania; luego de esto vendrían las injustas y dolorosas pérdidas de finales de Copa América donde viviría una de sus decisiones más difíciles renunciar como ya se ha comentado.

No quiero hacer este relato más largo, pero Messi con la consecución de su mundial, logró convertirse en ícono y leyenda del fútbol, además de aclarar las dudas sobre su posición dentro de este deporte, donde ya forma parte del Olimpo del fútbol e incluso se encuentra en el Top 3 junto a otros dos monstruos como lo son Pelé y Maradona como los mejores jugadores de todos los tiempos. Hoy a sus 36 años, sé que se acerca el adiós de él como profesional de este deporte, pero sin duda los recuerdos sobre su manera de jugar estarán más presentes que nunca en la memoria colectiva de los aficionados amantes de este deporte que mueve a millones de individuos alrededor del orbe.

Queda a criterio de cada quien si Messi es el GOAT (GREATEST OF ALL TIME) de la historia del fútbol dado el contexto de un deporte que a los ojos del mundo es subjetivo y queda a libre opinión de cada quien la concepción de mejor jugador de la historia del balompié. A mi criterio lo es Lionel Andrés Messi Cuccittini, quien con su esfuerzo y ganas de superarse ante las adversidades de la vida (hay que recordar también su tratamiento para crecer que consistía en inyecciones de crecimiento), donde podemos notar el esfuerzo que ponía el niño por mejorar y jugar lo que más le gustaba el FÚTBOL...

Me hablaban de Maradona (muchas personas de la edad de mi padre y él en ocasiones), pero lo que Messi ha hecho no se lo he visto a nadie por eso digo que es el mejor jugador de fútbol que mis ojos han visto, porque enamora con solo verle jugar al fútbol con sus ganas de y su magia que parece única en la historia de este deporte.

Por último, finalizando me quedo con una frase de Josep Guardiola, quien fue entrenador de Messi muchos años que menciona lo que para él es Messi en su concepción y resume lo que es Lionel Messi ante su especial talento para dominar el balón de forma excepcional:

"Alguna vez le contaré a mis nietos que yo entrené a Leo Messi. A Messi hay que hablarle poco, escuchar bien lo poco que dice. Y que nadie se olvide: a Messi no hay que sacarlo nunca, ni para la ovación. No escribas sobre él, no trates de describir lo que hace; simplemente míralo"

The last match between us was at the finals of Copa América, Argentina won and became in 2021 champion of the American continent.

You know what i don’t understand, that one of the reason he wants to be back in barcelona is because that’s where he and his family feel comfortable. It’s home for them, so he doesn’t want to go to another league. Yet the other offers he is apparently considering is either saudi league or mls???? Like, what? Those are new countries as well? How would that be any different than going to a different european league! (Not to mention the saudi/mls offer would be there a year or two later as well. So why not just simply go to another country in europe and still play at the top level.)

Bahaha anon, I understand the frustration! Well, first, a great amount of stuff goes behind the scene — you can never know how many actors are up there pulling strings, how many interests are at it. Now, concerning the player's own interests, which seem pretty established:

staying in Europe to stay in shape for the Copa América

get a fifth UCL

get an eight BO

avoid his family any further troubles like the 2021 transfer drama and the two years at Paris.

And when you look at those, and esp the last bit about the family, it's a bit more complex than it seems. Avoiding a lack of settlement like in Paris does mean, as you said, going back home to a familiar league (Barcelona), but avoiding the trauma of the 2021 transfer fail means not waiting furthermore for Barcelona's instances to fail the player again. Yes, the player wants the family comfortable, but he also wants some guarantees they will not be left 'alone' without club if Barcelona was to fail, so getting the family comfortable also means, unlike last time, getting a decision and a guarantee fast enough, to give them time to settle to an eventual new life if needed, which didn't happen in 2021 and kinda traumatized the whole bunch of wife+children. So, on FCB, it seems (despite all the wish I, as a culer & an argentine, have for him to return there) logical for him to step away as soon as he sees the bullshit going on. The way I see it, that's why he's considering other offers to other leagues.

Now, why those ain't European? First, we may not have all the informations yet. The FCB transfer saga has pollued every sector for some weeks now, let's not forget all league's mercatos aren't even opened officially - some actors can be waiting to see how things evolve. Second, very simply put, maybe no European club is planning to/has made an offer. Rumors have gotten around that some Prem club wanted to, but we haven't any names, and it could very well have been a PR stunt by Jorge Messi to get la Liga to move their asses. Once again though: no need to jump on any 'sources' or bit of 'news' floating around while nothing has been confirmed. It's all about engagement, drama, etc. Wait and see for the main guy's announcement itself, mystery's full! guess why i hate mercatos now :))
