Fandoms are honestly just really weird. I watched SU with a friend who isn't involved with fandom-type stuff on the internet at all, and they literally just enjoyed the show and never even criticized it. Like, idk, I actually forgot that that's how most people consume content, and I think I prefer it.

There's such a joy to be found with deeply analyzing a piece of fiction, with finding a community of others who adore it equally, but... in my mind, there's also something to be said about watching a show in the most surface way possible simply because "ooh, this is cool" and that's it. It's... honestly kinda hard for me to turn off my analysis brain and do that most days, ahah. So it's weird realizing that this is how most people in my day-to-day life interact with media.
