Another study!
This one’s from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.
I feel like I’m learning. A big one for me is letting go of detail and just making a brush and not trying to paint every leaf... or in this case, every divet in the rocks.
My attention to detail helps me with technical work, but really hurts me when I’m trying to paint. Gotta break them bad habits!

I've been doing some reverse engineering of film screenshots by thumbnailing them to figure out the composition. It's also a fun exercise is making bad art. It's not supposed to be finished or polished or anything, just basic colours and shapes.

Week 2 - Light and Comp
Week 2 of the resolution to do biweekly art studies was a success. I kept things small since classes began and because light and composition are things I'm really bad at! I want to do more of those balls and more examinations of the contrast in Mike Mignola panels and page layouts since he's great at readability.
