they're celebrating because they just hit two birds with one stone, or, more accurately, pushed two Dazais off one roof
(zoom for quality)
drawing explanation/ramble under the cut:
so, after two months and (according to my art program) over 40 hours of work, my manga Chuuya v. anime Chuuya drawing is finally done...mostly. I kinda gave up near the end because I got tired of staring at it, so attribute any wack proportions and mistakes to that. now it's time to get into why I drew them like this
here are the base colors:

anime Chuuya is on the right, while manga Chuuya is on the left. going to break things into two sections:
the colors:
anime Chuuya's entire color scheme was color picked from his official character reference sheet, so there's not much creativity there. however, I had to have a different approach with manga Chuuya. I gave him more brownish hair because he's described as having "light brown hair" in the light novels, and I wanted to represent that. his eyes are consistently drawn as being dark brown/gray, so that's what I went with (brown-eyed Chuuya supremacy by the way). Harukawa-sensei also consistently gives him a more pinkish color palette, so that's why his clothes look more red-orange than anime Chuuya's. his skin tone turned out darker because I just went with what I thought would look realistic, no real other reason
the clothing/design:
Chuuya has a far more elaborate outfit in the manga, complete with a hat chain, a choker with a buckle, and a hanging belt, so I added all of those. his collar is also a lot more open in the manga than in the anime. I tried to copy the way his hat looks in the manga, but I can't draw hats to save my life, so now it looks like he's taller than anime Chuuya when he's not supposed to be. eh whatever. in the anime, Chuuya has two rolls on his sleeves and one fold in his hat ribbon (don't know how to properly describe either of those). in the manga, he has three sleeve rolls and two ribbon folds. the way his coat folds is also different in both versions: the brownish part is a lot thinner in the anime, and thicker with a more prominent triangle thingie in the manga (I'm so good at describing things, aren't I?). his bolo tie in the manga also obeys gravity more than in the anime. also, in Harukawa-sensei's art style his hair is a lot thinner than in Bones's interpretation, but I kinda messed up when drawing that, so just pretend that it was intended to be a fusion of the main manga and DA manga. that's it really, just zoom in if you want to count all of the differences for yourself
tl;dr: manga Chuuya has a more complicated design than anime Chuuya, and they have different color palettes, so I represented the differences here. that's it. honestly I probably didn't even need to write this explanation, but I like rambling about my art so I did it anyway. it's not like anyone can stop me
also, I slapped a filter onto the drawing and liked it, so here you go:
