WHAT IF...? THE HELLIONS

The Hellions are a team of Mutants and Mutates. They are the (friendly?) rivals of the New Mutants team. The Hellions do not have an adult mentor, though they do sometimes receive guidance from the ghost of Silhouette’s deceased Cambodian grandmother Tai. They also bear a slight resemblance to a team in the 616…

Side note: I really like the way the original Hellion’s costumes were both asymmetrical and aggressively ugly. Of course those kids where villains! I wanted all these characters to have individual costumes, but I also wanted the asymmetrical aspects to be the unifying elements of the team

Miguel Santos aka LIVING LIGHTING – Los Angeles native that can turn his entire body into electrical energy

Robbie Baldwin aka SPEEDBALL – An outwardly pleasant high school student with the power to surround himself in a kinetic field.

Roubpheap Sramol ‘Silhouette’ Chord aka SILHOUETTE – Former gang member, current paraplegic mutant crime fighter, teleports through shadows

Angélica Bonita Juarez aka FIRESTAR – The heroic microwave manipulating mutant, and leader of the Hellions (She’s an amalgamation of 616 Firestar and Firebird)

Shola Inkosi aka JUSTICE – Telekinetic mutant, refugee from the destroyed island nation of Genosha

Tandy Bowen aka DAGGER – Creates light daggers that can both heal and hurt
