So just watched episodes 5 & 6 of Hazbin.

You can tell the creator has a really a whole cast of characters she’s grown and loved for years but my god woman you need to let the story breathe. If you can’t fit all the characters you’ve invented into the episode then release a comic interlude for cash later.

The beats don’t feel earned when we’ve got whiplash from being introduced to a new character every other scene.

Lucifer wants to be a dad? But he doesn’t actually listen to Charlie? He doesn’t actually interact either her besides random infrequent calls where he doesn’t even care enough to hear what she’s saying? Which we only learned this episode? So we need to hop aboard a Powerful Dad is actually a Wacky Divorced Inventor and a Distant Dad to Loving Redeemed dad arc in less than half an episode?

Fuck outta here.

Radio Demon wants to be Charlie’s dad? No hint of that before this. And yet they didn’t play it solely like he was doing it just trying to wind up Lucifer. That song was a mess.

There were THREE new lore heavy characters in one episode and all of them had different emotional beats. For gods sake pick a struggle.

I 100% invite any long term fans to laugh at my wild conjecture and have fun seeing how someone from the outside is fumbling about

Right, so I’ve not been in the Hazbin Hotel fandom and don’t know the lore. Since I’m coming in blind I am going to post Theories that probably were already debunked in a tweet from 2018.

That being said here’s my Theory.

Vaggie was the Angel Carmilla slew. But what Carmilla didn’t know was that Vaggie intentionally goaded her into battle to plausibly suicide so she could stay in Hell with Charlie.

Evidence:

1. Vaggie’s design. X over one eye like the Angels, wing shaped hair, mostly black and white color scheme, choker looks like a line over where the dead Angel was beheaded, weapon being a spear. Admittedly everything other than the X and the Spear are also shared by other demons but those two are BIG.

2. Vaggie’s use of language around the denizens of hell, she never includes herself as one of them and highlights they’re Charlie’s people she chooses to help. Her backstory involving bonding through war fighting screams exterminator to me.

3. Vaggie & Carmilla having a duet about choosing to protect their loved ones. Odd pairing if there’s not parallels supposed to be drawn.

4. No one else having EVER slew an Angel before. That says something was different about this- Carmilla is an Overlord who got protective. Overlords are actually not all that rare comparatively speaking and they can rise or fall. Not one of them in history managed to feel protective or bloodthirsty enough to kill?

5. The Angel death was set up as a big reveal. No point in having a narrative twist be solved this fast unless it’s not actually solved yet.

I smell a setup.
