he’s grown used to the way in which the other asks for affection. gotten used to the way one needed to dance through it, comfortable with leaning on the bigger man’s shoulder in the quiet of the pre-dawn, past the chaos of both of their work and the blood carefully washed off.

somewhere up high, where the sunrise can promise something new without the mist and the fog hiding it.

so when Jason asks him to hold his hand, Kyle reaches without hesitation. breathes out the softest affirmation, as if afraid to break the silence and usher in something empty and unholy.

there is a comfortable peace here.
