CHARACTER DESIGN SHEET - Captain Mark
Species: Human (clone) Born: 32 BBY
After the Battle of Genosis, Mark was assigned to serve as Captain of the Eighty-Second (82nd) Battalion. Under the command of Jedi General Thalen – who was bookish and nervous – the 82nd suffered many loses. Everything came to a head 3 months later, during a battle on Eadu’s moon, where Thalen and nearly the entire Battalion was massacred. Only Mark and 11 other clones survived.
Mark and the remaining 11 were then reassigned to Chimera Company, a new clone company made up of the remnants of more than a dozen similarly-decimated armies. Chimera was led by Jedi General Teyla Marin and her Padawn, Commander Gida Tiatkin. With the poor leadership of Thalen, Mark was very reluctant to take orders from more Jedi, but he eventually found common ground with Teyla and Gida, and the three of them were able to turn the fragmented company into a cohesive, close-knit unit.
*
While he repainted his armor to match the purple of the rest of Chimera Company, he kept the green of the 82nd on the fin of his helmet as a tribute to the ones he lost. The rest of Chimera followed suit, wearing the purple paint of their current company, and the color of their original units on their helmets.
*
Mark is Force-sensitive. Discreetly, she and Gida Tiatkin began teaching – but not training – Mark about how to utilize his newfound abilities.
Once it came into her possession, Teyla gifted Mark the lightsaber of her old maser, Sifo-Dyas. He fitted it with a kyber crystal he had found in a cave while on a mission two years before. Mark’s fighting style leans towards offense, and is somewhat aggressive, similar to Form V, Shien & Djem So.
*****
And thus completes the design sheets for the heads of Chimera Company!! Though time consuming and tedious, I'm so pleased with how they've turned out!!

Mark: This is the end, huh? I made some great friends on this planet.
(he pauses)
Mark: Chapter 7, Section C, Subsection Sigma: In short, never get attached to anyone you save. It’s not like you’ll be around them for very long.
(he sighs heavily)
Mark: Sometimes I wish that wasn't a real code.
(he pauses again)
Mark: Amy became the leader of the new Planet Peebles.
(he lets out a small laugh)
Mark: I’ll miss her cheese cakes, but she did leave us some for the road. She’s the best…
(he’s silent for a moment)
Mark: Captain Mark out.

Mark: A missing planet? How? Like I would get a few people, but an entire planet? When we arrived a few tics ago the entire planet of Glactictron was just missing. It was there on the sensors, but then it just wasn’t. What happened? There is no way a planet can just disappear! It’s not scientifically possible! How--
(he pauses for a moment)
Mark: We need to find out what’s going on here. Captain Mark out.

[BEGIN LOG]
Mark: We have Successfully cleared the planet and are now relocating the people of Laygo. Thankfully almost all of them survived. There were reports of maybe twenty people at most who were killed by the Zalgore when it first arrived. The millions who are left aren’t too happy and everyone keeps arguing. They’ve decided to split off into factions. A few even started to fight.
(he pauses, then speaks quietly)
Mark: Amy is very sweet, though, and helps us calm down the conflicts.
(he coughs, then speaks at normal volume)
Mark: The apparent heads of the factions are trying to appoint a new leader, but it’s not going too well--
(he’s cut off by loud arguing and fighting from outside the room)
Mark: Yikes, there they go again. I need to take care of that. Captain Mark out.

[BEGIN LOG]
Mark: Alright, to summarize Zerginoff’s distress signal, the planet was being attacked by something--something big. He didn’t do too well explaining it, but according to Zerginoff it had a mouth of fire and a body of stone. It appeared in the sky, apparently destroyed the planet, and then nothing. The signal cut off and the planet disappeared.
(he pauses)
Mark: I have never heard of anything like this. We’ve put out a message to other civilizations in this sector to look for anything matching that description, so we’re hoping we’ll get a ping before it attacks again. Mark out.

[BEGIN LOG]
Mark: Hey, Mark here. I, uh, don’t know why I started like that, but the way I’ve been starting these logs was starting to annoy me.
(he pauses)
Mark: We were on our stakeout when we saw a young girl--maybe twelve years old--stealing the flowers, so we confronted her. She screamed, apparently we startled her, but Jack’s calm demeanor and kind words quickly relaxed her.
(he pauses and speaks slightly to himself)
Mark: We were all impressed with how easily he did that.
(he pauses again, but begins speaking fully into the microphone soon)
Mark: He got her to talk and she told us she was stealing the flowers for her grandfather’s grave to replace the dying ones. She honestly touched our hearts, or at least mine. We decided to let her go but told her not to do it again. We made sure she at least kind of understood her small actions had universal ramifications. She promised not to steal again and then left, but we didn’t manage to find any leads to the gang that might be stealing the flowers.
(he sighs loudly)
Mark: Reporting back to HQ is gonna suck. Mark signing off.

Mark: Our scanners indicate that there is a huge beast and many life forms are under the surface of the planet. We have called for backup.
(his tone changes from robotic reporting to human relief)
Mark: A young lady came out and told us that the Commander and Lieutenant are with her and are both safe. She said her name was Amy. She, heh, she also brought cheesecake… mmm…
(he clears his throat after a moment)
Mark: At least we know where everyone is and that everyone is safe. I’m taking us on a rescue mission since Zalgores only come out at night and sleep during the day. We are going tonight to get everyone we can. Amy is going to be telling everyone to be ready.
(he pauses)
Mark: Amy is quite nice. I like her. She gave me Cheesecake!
(he pauses)
Mark: But, uh, no time for cheesecake now. We can have it once I get my crew back and save this planet. As soon as we get everyone out, the Agency should be here to take care of the Zalgore. It’ll be fine, I’ll have cheesecake, and Mark out.

(his words are frantic, leaving little to no space between each one)
Mark: This is Captain Mark reporting in. Last night Commander Jack and Lieutenant Leim went missing after an explosion on the ship. We are right now recovering and on high alert. Commander Jack might have a log recorder. There is one missing so it’s more than likely he did take one, so if he is still out there he will be taking notes.
(he pauses for a moment, his words come slower)
Mark: I need to tend to my crew... Captain Mark signing off.

(he sighs loudly)
Mark: I know it’s part of our job and all, but I don’t think I could ever get used to it… It’s just--
(he sighs again, longer this time)
Mark: So… after we landed back on Utania, Jack and I decided to split up into two teams to cover more ground. Leim with Jack, Tom and Billy with me. We wanted to explore outside the main area mentioned in the reports, see if there was something we missed. Once my team had been looking around for a while, maybe an hour, we decided to turn off our lights.
(he pauses)
Mark: I saw something move in the dark… I--
(he pauses)
Mark: It was the little girl from yesterday. She was stealing flowers again. I was really shocked at first because she sounded so sincere and like she truly understood last time we spoke. At that point, I don’t really know what I was thinking. Protocol just kicked in and my team tailed her.
(he pauses, but starts speaking again very quickly)
Mark: Maybe a part of me didn’t want to believe it. I mean, she looked too young to lie like that. Maybe I still expected a grandpa's grave. But…
(he slows down)
Mark: It wasn’t a grave she brought us to. The gang’s camp was hidden underground. The original report said they might’ve had an excavator. We saw it.
(he pauses)
Mark: But there were so many kids… I don’t know how they got there or what lies the gang had told them, but they were innocent. Innocent kids roped into a dirty black market. Code told me I had to storm the place and take into custody the leader. I sent a message to Jack, hoping maybe he could figure something out…
(he pauses)
Mark: We took the entire camp into custody. Nobody died, but it got really heated when we were caught sneaking into the central tent. I just hope none of the kids were hit in the crossfire. Jack’s team did manage to capture the leader from the other side of the tent and he took care of securing the entrance on his way in, but I dunno. So many kids were taken into custody and I don’t entirely trust the Galactic Enforcement Agency with properly housing them… At least, not that many…
(he sighs)
Mark: I’ve rambled for too long. Mark out.

Mark: Today we are crossing the galaxy to go to a planet in the farthest reaches of the Northern Quadrant. It’s the planet Laygo. Laygo is a newly discovered planet and so far the furthest one out. I heard the women there are beautiful too.
(his voice suddenly spills out in a flurry of excited words)
Mark: And they make good Cheesecake! Like, really good cheesecake! I LOVE cheesecake.
(Commander Jack can be heard yelling from outside of the room)
Jack: MARK GET OUT HERE AND STOP RAVING ABOUT CHEESECAKE!
(they both laugh)

[BEGIN LOG]
Mark: So, I finally graduated from the Galactic Enforcement Academy and it’s finally time for my first mission. Me and my new partner Seán.
(a moment of silence)
Mark: Jack, he said he wants me to call him by his code name.
(he clears his throat)
Mark: Us and our crew-- Oh! Our crew… I should probably name them.
(shuffling paper is heard)
Mark: There are Billy, Leim, and Tom. Ensign Billy is our main helmsman, so he’s the one who spends the most time in the bridge planning our route and watching the console. He’s a little hot headed, but I’m sure he’ll be fine out here. Lieutenant Leim is our main engineer. He’s a little on the sheepish side, but he knows his way around a warp engine well enough. Lieutenant Tom is our main scientist while also being the ship’s doctor. He’s clever and isn’t afraid to say it, but he also seems the most skilled in battle out of all of us. Jack is my Commander and works the communications and diplomatic front. He’s a smooth talker and an absolute sweetheart. I’m Captain Mark, and I’ve got a lot of battle and leader training with a whole lot of experience in piloting.
(more shuffling paper is heard)
Mark: Right, so now we are now on our way to the planet Koloma in the Moteavo quadrant to check out some suspicious activity. This is a sketchy part of the planet and we aren’t sure exactly what’s going on, but we'll find out as soon as we can. Mark signing off.

Mark: Jack went to talk to HQ. I asked him to go since he spoke with the girl and he’s the smoothest talker out of all of us. Surely he can appease them.
(he pauses for several seconds)
Mark: He’s been gone for a while maybe I should-- Oh, Jack! How’d it go?
(Jack’s voice can be heard, but it’s much fainter than Mark’s)
Jack: Not good. They destroyed me.
Mark: Yikes… That bad?
Jack: Yeah, but it was worth it. She was only a kid.
Mark: Yeah, I know. Oh, whoops. Uh, let me turn this thing off real quick.
