During my holiday, I went to the Blue Mountains National Park to relax with a few close friends and, at the same time, invited a friend to assist me with these two sets of photographs, which I chose and gave a darker tone to give the images a slightly stressed look and to set off the inability to relax. To show that in today's China, workers are constantly online 24/7, losing the good weekends they should have, and even though they have left the hustle and bustle of the city, there is still no way to escape the passive pressure from a society that continues to monitor and passively drive them to work. I see this happening now, using these two sets of photographs.

Self Portrait and Other Portrait
When taking photos of myself I couldn't help but have a somber face, relaxed and tired from a long day. I leant into it and adressed my own gaze, in the mirror. When taking photos of my subject, I placed them in similar seating and let them also comfortably confront their own gaze, not imposing any cues, simply taking the photos when I feel ready too.

This group of street photos is a capture of the night portraits, the light is mainly street lights and different colours of lighting in the buildings.
I try to be a complete spectator and thus capture people's most relaxed state, and interestingly, I find that everyone who goes out alone puts more attention into their phones, as if they have become fully engaged and dependent on the online world.

1st photo was taken on a cloudy day while the other 2 were taken under bright sunlight. Generally, it is harder to photograph without a direct light source due to less contrast and texture.
