selina was 19 when bruce was 26…? oh my god i never knew how old she was when she was first introduced so your tags shocked me😭

ok so i went back to volume one and it’s actually. a bit worse than i remember 😭

i did get it wrong that it was on the cusp of year one/year two, these events overlap with year one so bruce is 25. but based on the above panels it seems selina could have been anywhere from 16/17-19 😭

#this is actually what’s the most hilarious thing about bruce’s relationships with selina and talia is like #they’re both comparatively very young when they meet him 😭#with selina it’s not as much of an issue bc if you read her early post crisis issues there’s literally ten years of her canon #that is never covered and gets skipped over bc she’s barely in any issues prior to tim’s robin run #so once his solo and her solo begins it just fast forwards to what is actually going on in bat canon at the time #and that’s when we see bruce and selina’s relationship actually begin to develop on a more continuous level #where we have to assume their paths crossed sparsely before #but with talia it’s quite bad lol esp if you assume denny knew about arab schooling systems (i doubt he did but still) bc they can #go to med school right after high school. so you could be a med school graduate at like. 22 lmao 😭#but yeah overall it’s a mess.. and idk on one hand it’s obv convenient dc skirts over it #but i do think it’s worth talking about personally bc selina and talia both being younger and vulnerable compared to bruce to me #should play a significant part in the dynamic and the subsequent analysis of talia and selina’s isolation and powerlessness at times #outbox
